Just relaxin' to good music...

Last week our son and his wife packed their little U-Haul and started the long drive to Oregon.

While they're gone, Mr. Jenny and I are watching our Granddaughters.

The same day the big kids began their drive, the school called.   The oldest Grandlittle was sick.  I picked her up.

Her freckles stood out like beacons against her very pale skin.   She was shaking with a bad headache.

I could sympathize.   I've had a headache for a few weeks now and have just been trying to take it as easy as possible.

I brought her home.

And Grandma'd her up.

She had hot tea.   She had some toast.   She had a few chewable tylenol.   We laid in bed and dozed and cuddled.

After a few hours she was feeling a lot better.

I told her I was going to lay down and rest for a little while longer.

Suddenly her face lit up!

"Grandma!  I have a great idea!  You just lay here!  I'll be right back!"

I could hear her in the other room rummaging until finally from the bedroom doorway I heard her say, "Grandma!   Close your eyes!  I have a GREAT idea!"

When she told me to open my eyes, there she stood.

Grinning from ear to ear.

Holding her student violin!

"Grandma!  I know what will help you feel a lot better!    You just lay there in bed and I'm going to play you some RELAXING violin music!"

And she started playing.

Ummm...

Ummm...

sssssCCCCCREEEEEECCCCHHHHH!!!!

ssssccccREEEECCCCHHHHHH!

Relaxing violin music!

Geez.

Who knew that beginner violin music would be so restful!?!

Well your "grandma-ing" her up certainly worked! And, then she wanted to "grand-daughter" you up! How thoughtful is that! You are so darn lucky! Hope you slept well last night!

Haley told me yesterday that she thinks she might want to learn to play the violin.

Joey can't decide between that...or the trumpet! or drums!!

OUCH!

Music to a grandmother's ears is different typically...

I had my littlest this weekend, it was musical all weekend. Made me really glad I live so far out, the neighbors may not hear it the same way I do.

He got to meet his first moose! Yikes!!! Exciting for both of us...

Too cute! Number 2 grandson started out wanting to play the drums. Thank goodness he switched to the Bass. Number 1 plays the Violin and number 3 plays the Viola. I have endured my fair share of screeches.

Scringe on my friend...scringe on and smile because you love them. :)

Like your headache wasn't bad enough already! The things we will do for our grandkids. I fondly remember when I could have packed all my belongings in a little trailer like that. Heck, I could have fit it all in the truck!

She is a sweetie to want to make you feel better. I can almost imagine what kind of pounding your head was feeling after the serenade. Praying for safe travels for your son and wife.

Having a headache for a few weeks is not normal Miss Jenny. I assume you know the cause??

I'm delighted that Grandlittles playing helped sooth the pains :p

I'm so glad you were there for her when she needed you. Did she bring you some tylenol when you needed her?? LOL I remember when Lolo was learning/practicing her instruments.
p.s. Stock up on tylenol. :)
I hope you both feel better by now.

"I brought her home. And Grandma'd her up." About as perfect a phrase as one can create. Feel better soon.

Oh how funny! One of those times when "it's the thought that counts" may not apply! But what a sweet thought it was, and what an angel she is in that picture. laurie
