Why do you ask?
I mean, we do get what feels like 13,912 Trick-or-Treaters...and no matter how much candy we get it is never enough. And one of our neighbors builds a full haunted house every single year...this year complete with haunted trees, rolling fog and all kinds of drama... And another one of our neighbors sets up a movie in their front yard complete with lots of loud audio...
And another neighbor sets up several grills and condiment stations and hands-out hot dogs to all 13,912 trick-or-treaters
My husband and I swear each year not to get into the competition but this we fell prey to keeping up with the Joneses...
And, frankly, I think we've outdone ourselves.
We actually had four LIT AND CARVED PUMPKINS by the folding chairs we sat on to hand out candy.
I'm showing this daylight picture so you can experience the full wonder and glory of all that is Halloween at our house.
Sigh...

Hi! Thanks for leaving a comment! My handy dandy e-mail assistant always notifies me when you do and I read every single one.
I try to respond to comments with a return e-mail BUT I just noticed that I've been answering a lot of them to blogs that haven't linked their e-mail address to their Google account! I haven't been ignoring your comments, but now I know you aren't getting my reply e-mails! I'm sorry!
I know a lot of other bloggers who respond to comments via e-mail so if you haven't left off your e-mail on purpose, you might want to add it on! If you don't know how you can let me know in your comment and I'll see if I can help you!
Thanks so much for reading my 'Tangents'! Your comments always feel like a hug!

Wow...your neighborhood goes all out! Looks like fun, and hey, I like your pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteLove it. We live in that kind of neighborhood, too. :) We manage to avoid all the trick-or-treaters, though, since we have some. Then, I turned off all the lights when we got home so that I could get them to bed. I'm bad. But, someone still rang our doorbell (porch light off and living room lights off!!) after 10 pm. What?! I was like,"If you wake up my baby..." They rang it twice! Anyway, I hope you had fun. Your pumpkins are cute!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny
ReplyDeleteWhat fun... we don't do trick or treating here in Australia.. well some do.. although i doubt anyone would have anything to give out.. haha
I would've love to come visit your street... it looks like a blast...
OH... yesterday.. Halloween here.. I saw a little ghost riding down the street on her scooter.. looked so funny and cute.. cause.. really no one else is dressing up
Take care x Julie
love the all-out celebration in your neighbourhood! A couple houses at the top of our street have some nice displays but nothing like that! I resorted to my Black-Hat Reject in the window along with a few other of my 'creations'. Porch light on and an autumn wreath on the door... Yes, I too pushed the boat out! Stayed inside though... too hot (the choccies would have melted!) and the bugs would have had a field day!
ReplyDeletewe had three pumpkins you guys are definitely living on the edge adding a whole 'nother one...
ReplyDeleteThis neighborhood gets over a thousand every year.
ReplyDeleteIt is because it is still a nice nighborhood but one of the very few nice neighborhoods that isn't gated at this end-because the road is a main way from one end to the other, so people hit it up.

too funny - never try to outdo your neighbours, then they won't love you anymore LOL :D

ReplyDeleteWOW Oh WOW!
ReplyDeleteI want to come trick or treating in your neighborhood!
Muy sister lives in Mesa and she told me that in Arizona children don't go Treck or Treating because they focus on the holiday more as a "harvest festival" .... which I guess translate into she doesn't wnat to give out candy ..lol
that was a riot!
