You know...the birthplace of the automobile?
The birthplace of electricity?
But on Sunday I got to visit quite possibly one of the BEST historic BIRTHPLACES...EVER!
My daughters, Mr. Jenny and I went to...
...take a breath...you're gonna be excited...
SPRINKLES!!!!!!!!
The original start of the haute cuisine cupcake craze in the United States.
Okay, it was technically not 'the' Sprinkles Cupcake Bakery cuz I'm pretty sure that one is in LA, but it was pretty darned close. There are only 10 in the United States and we went to the one in Scottsdale.
And there was a line.
A lot of other history fans, I guess.
Not only did we go and pay homage to the historic site, we each got a free cupcake. Just for saying 'Touchdown!'
Black and white, raspberry chocolate chip, coconut lemon, red velvet and (yumohyumohyum!) salted caramel cupcakes.
Delicious AND historic.
A perfect little field trip all rolled into one! (yumohyumohyum)
I love history.
Don't you?
Oh, I love history and trips to see historic things. A cupcake place now that would be triple interesting and fun. They look very yummy. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI would love history a lot more if it involved cupcakes!! I'm sure the french revolution had something to do with cupcakes ??? or was that cake??? maybe i should find a french bakery to get me up to speed on this stuff!
ReplyDeleteEducational field trips are always good. I can't help but wonder if you had to go during the game and say touchdown, or was it all day Sunday?
ReplyDeleteSure do, especially when it's sooooo delicious!
ReplyDeleteDon't ya just love a great field trip???
Enjoy sweetie!!! :o)
great! I have friends who SWEAR by these...they would drive 100 miles for one. But I've never experienced them, and probably just as well, cuz I'd have to drive several 100 miles if I wanted seconds... ;)
ReplyDeleteCupcakes are just about the cutest things going - what a fun trip for you...
ReplyDeleteWas History a favorite school subject for you? Sure was for me.
History and a cupcake!! Score!
ReplyDeleteOkay, that is my kind of history. Heck, with history like that I wouldn't mind becoming a historian.
ReplyDeleteHistory is good, but cupcakes are great. It takes a special talent to roll them into one fun field trip.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy it now that I don't have to study and be tested on it. Even better if I could eat it!
ReplyDeleteQuick, tell that Arne Duncan guy (Education Secretary) to make cupcakes part of every history class...I bet we outscore the Chinese!
ReplyDeleteHi Again,
ReplyDeleteYea, I think I could really get to liking History a lot if their were great tasting cupcakes in the mix. lol
what a fun outing, and could you possibly email me over a cupcake.
Pwease!! lol
So what kind did you have or did you all get a different one and then sample each others??? that is what we do when we go to cheesecake factory.
Bet you will remember this outing for a long while...........
Cup cake Blessings Galore hon,
Nellie
My kind of history lesson...
ReplyDeleteOMGOodness. The photo even looks good enough to eat !
Peace,
Siggi in Downeast Maine
Jenny - we were separated at birth.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt about it.
We both love history, and (are you ready????)
We both had famous cupcakes on the weekend! I'll be posting on Alphabe-Thursday (but don't tell anyone!) that I was at Ooh La La Cupcakes testing cake for a certain wedding.
History and cupcakes - yup, we're twins.

ReplyDeleteThis was an even better trip!
Edifying edibles... excellent!
ReplyDeleteforget history, I will take the cupcake and then I will think about the cupcake part.....
