Painted Letter S

Hi.   Can I tell you something?  Thanks.

I feel really weird selling these signs on Etsy.  I feel like I'm using our blog friendship as a basis to sell you something...but I'm really not.

I would paint these signs even if I wasn't selling them.   The selling part is just my way of making my own money.  Having some health limitations, I tried that work from home tech job.   Unfortunately, when we moved, our internet could no longer support the band-width necessary to do it.

I hope it doesn't make you uncomfortable seeing the little etsy store link to the right and if it doesn't, maybe you can steer any sign buying acquaintances you have my etsy shop way.  I'd sure appreciate that.

I just wanted to put this out in the light of day in case it was bothering you.

Okay.

I feel better now.

So.

Ahem.

Moving on.

This week for the letter S I painted three signs.

One of them turned out pretty special...or at least I think so.

S

12" x 12"

 15" x 16"

This is my favorite this week.

16" x 15"

No stencils.   No stickers.  Handpainted with my own layout.

Each picture is linked to my Etsy shop.   Simply click on the picture to go visit!

You can see other signs in this series by clicking on 'Painted
Alphabet' in my sidebar.

  1. I didn't even realize you had an Etsy shop.

  2. Miss Jenny, don't feel bad about it. I think it's a marvelous idea and there is no shame in trying to earn a little extra money doing what you. That's whole heap more than I can say about some of the deadbeats that live in this country.

But, I know what you mean about the quilt. I find myself feeling like this when I put up my "yard sale" like posts when I'm trying to unload clutter. Honestly, though I can either throw it away or try to get a few cents for it, right? =D

I think you're simply talented at what you do! Thanks for sharing your gift with us.

  3. Jenny when you started painting these signs I hoped you would sell them. They are awesome and you should use your talent to earn some money. Times are tough my friend and nothing wrong with making and selling something you are good at! That said I might have to ask for a 'paris' sign! Hugs, Linda

  7. Jenny, I think it's quite exciting that you have an etsy shop!! Your signs are very special, and if you wish to part with them, then go for it!
But I do know what you mean about feeling a bit weird. a reason I almost never post about my work. But I do think I should post about it from time to time. And why not show off your work to your blogger friends?! They do really want to know more about you and to see what you do.
I, for one, am glad you show us your talents on your blog and that you have an etsy shop!

  11. As always they are all wonderful! I love the smile and rainbow the best.

I feel kind of funny hawking my soaps too, but I figure if I have something that people would like, it's nice to tell them about it. If they aren't interested, I'm certainly not offended. I hope you are selling quite a few of your signs. They are beautiful!

  29. OH!!! so coool!!! Yay! Welcome to Etsy! I'm heding that way right after I post this comment. (And actually, that is how I started blogging! Some family and friends encouraged me to set up a blog after I set up my Etsy shop, so that others can learn a little about what I do and a little about me, behind the art. So, I try to share art on every post.

I'm so glad that I took their advice, cuz, I have met so many, many awesome bloggers...like you dear friend!

    Blessings & Aloha!

  30. Stop it right now, Jenny! Your signs are so very original and 'speak' to so many people. You have to think of your etsy shop as giving people an opportunity to have one of your signs at home - otherwise you'd be spending all your time answering emails about 'where to get one of those adorable signs'. It's not just the signs that are inspirational - your move towards making your own money from them is inspirational for many of us!

Hi! Thanks for leaving a comment! My handy dandy e-mail assistant always notifies me when you do and I read every single one.

I try to respond to comments with a return e-mail BUT I just noticed that I've been answering a lot of them to blogs that haven't linked their e-mail address to their Google account! I haven't been ignoring your comments, but now I know you aren't getting my reply e-mails! I'm sorry!

I know a lot of other bloggers who respond to comments via e-mail so if you haven't left off your e-mail on purpose, you might want to add it on! If you don't know how you can let me know in your comment and I'll see if I can help you!

Thanks so much for reading my 'Tangents'! Your comments always feel like a hug!
