Unnecessary serving objects...

Accck!

I think I'm out of control.

My new kitchen actually has cabinets.   And drawers.

And trips to the garage to take serving dishes, coffee mugs, the toaster and cereal off the metal shelving wedged in beside Mr. Jenny's Jeepster will be no longer required.

Seriously.

I.

Have.

Cabinets.

And drawers.  I think there are 9 drawers in my new kitchen.

Ahhh.

Bliss.

I haven't, technically, finished moving  since we don't have to be out of our current house until the end of February and we're taking our time!

So, technically, I'm not sure how much extra room I'm going to have in my cabinets...

BUT...

In my quest to find used furniture at garage and estate sales to fill up some empty spaces. I find  drawn to serving dishes.

And coffee mugs.

And toasters.

But mostly...serving dishes.

Mr. Jenny keeps asking, "Don't you have stuff like that already?"

I keep saying, "Shusssh.  I'm just looking."

Although...

A few days ago I purchased a pink pyrex divided serving dish.   Ah.  It's a beauty.

And a few days before that I purchased some amber pyrex casseroles.   Ah.   They are quite lovely, too!

I find myself drawn, with wild abandon,  to unnecessary serving objects!

I just hope I don't buy so many they end up back on metal shelves in the garage again.

ha!

  1. I would say that every kitchen needs some pink in it. That makes you dish necessary!

  2. I have dishes, serving dishes, casserole dishes, serving platters, etc...stuck everywhere.

I completely understand this fascination. My husband and children don't understand it but I do!

I would love to have that amber casserole dish!

    Happy day! :-)

  4. We have dishes several places in our house. Our kitchen is so tiny.

  5. I've never counted the drawers in my kitchen (I'm resisting the urge to go do that right now), but a couple of them are big enough to hold serving dishes and all of them need to be cleaned out.

  13. I have the same obsession to finding unique solid white serving dishes. I love the look of an array of plates and bowls and unique but uniform in color :o).

I'm the same with our towels. All are white. There are many textures but all uniform.

Are we seeing an OCD pattern here?

  14. I had a whole set of that amber pyrex back in the day and it's wonderful! A girl can never really have too many serving dishes, you never know when you might have to throw a shotgun wedding or something!

  15. I'm quite jealous, the Ponderosa does not have an abundance of drawers or cabinets.

I'm thrilled for you that you have extra space and your quite in the 'pink' of things. Heeehehehe!

    Have fun sweetie!!!

God bless and enjoy fillin' up your new found space! :o)

  16. I think I have that first one in green, blue and yellow. I'm not sure... it's been decades since I've seen them.

  17. We all have our obsessions. I love plates. And cheap plates. THe kind that they sell at the grocery, 10/$10 and that is full price. They have some for each season and I dream about having them. I look forward to the day that I can have those plates....but by then everyone will have moved out and it will just be Bry and I and then they will just sit there.....sigh.

  20. I'm quite smitten with your pink find!

Had to laugh... dear Mom chided me gently one day when I remarked how many guns her son was collecting. She reminded me quietly of how many serving bowls her son's wife had on display.

(Sheepishly owning up to a serving bowl in each color :)

  21. One really cannot have enough casserole dishes, or trays, or plastic boxes or for that matter drawers in the kitchen!

  26. We have a lot of cabinets in the kitchen and they are all full. We also built a pantry and "Expanded Kitchen Storage Area" in the garage. All full...
I hate having so much stuff, but it's handy to have it, when you need it.

  27. One can never have too much pyrex, and that is the truth! Especially if it is pink!
Hoping you don't have to resort to metal shelves in the garage again. :)

  28. The more space we get...the more space we fill. If yo see more of that pink pyrex...you need to snatch it up...it was selling for serious cash on ebay! Happy moving!

  29. I'm really pleased that you've got the space to enjoy these things :)

  30. I too love pyrex....and I won't fess up to how many serving dishes I have. Clearly, I need to serve more often. Maybe you can serve more often too? You know, to justify all that good stuff.
Congrats on getting a good kitchen; you deserve it!!!!
