If you give a girl...

...with complicated auto-immune issues a major oral surgery...

She's gonna have a crash.

And if she has a crash...

She's gonna want to die.

Or at the very least hibernate.

And if she hibernates...

She doesn't visit her blog much.

Or write much.

Or paint much.

Or talk much.

And if she gives up blogging and writing and painting and talking...

She's gonna miss out on a WHOLE BUNCH OF STUFF IN BLOGLAND.

And in her life.

And when she misses out on almost three months of her life she suddenly realizes...

"HOLY CRAP! IT'S ALMOST THANKSGIVING!"

And when she realizes it's almost Thanksgiving...

...she decides that, "Yes, printed burlap can be washed in the washing machine to make a table runner to save time."

And when she washes printed burlap...

...it turns into a huge mess.

And when it turns into a huge mess she has to cover it up with ANOTHER table runner she already had to make it look semi-okay.

And then that makes her mouth hurt.

And she has to go to the oral surgeon again. ...

... Okay.

All of this was true UP UNTIL seeing the oral surgeon again.

I'm avoiding him like the plague.

He thinks I am going to have more surgery in January.

Yeah.

Ummm.

I think he may have to use an elephant gun to tranquilize me for that!

Sigh.

PS. Missed you all!

PPS. Yes, those are croquet balls in the wooden bowl on my table. I know. I'm weird.

PPPS (or is that PSSS) If you have oral surgery and you can't tolerate steroids or using your own blood in concentration be sure to let your surgeon know.  This has been a pretty icky ride and I don't want you to go through it if you can avoid it!

  2. So sorry you have had such an icky ride and have a bit more ahead if your oral surgeon can find an elephant gun.
You have been missed but the most important thing is for you to take care of yourself.
It looks like the table runner issue got perfectly solved.

  6. No worries, I'll avoid it at all cost, just like I avoided being in the hospital. THOSE PEOPLE WOULD HAVE KILLED ME!

    Good to see you!

  9. Oh Jenny, I'm so sorry to read this. I have been away for 5 weeks and am just getting caught up. I hope you feel better soon - and I hope someone is cooking your Thanksgiving dinner for you!

  10. Jenny you are a brave soul to go through all that and still come back to us to blog. An elephant gun will be needed, wow, that must have been icky in the extreme (your recovery).

  11. I hope you're doing better. I would run far, far away from the oral surgeon myself! Croquet balls in the wooden bowl. Yeah, sort of weird but you should see some of the things I have around. I have a petrified lizard in a pie tin (for my granddaughter), old mice bones in a mason jar (again for my granddaughter)- the kids are interested in bones and how they go together.

  19. well its sounds like you have been having more than just the average "bad" time. wishing you angels to lighten your load and wrap their tender wings around you to help with your healing ... keep on smiling, despite the pain.

  20. Oh no no no no no no! I am so sorry you've been feeling punky.

I am praying for your mouth.

    That looks weird.

I am praying that your mouth will be 1000% healed and you will be pain-free.

Because I love it when you feel well enough to post picture of your croquet balls on your table. Because I totally would do that.

In fact, I'm rather jealous of them. But glad you are back :)

  21. So sorry you've had such a rough time lately. I do hope you recover soon and somehow manage to avoid more surgery in January. That would be a good New Year's Resolution.

  22. Hope you are on the route to healing now, sometimes life is like that eh! Am doing my own little return to blog land after what is supposed to be minor surgery and is really taking the wind out of my sails.

The creative process for a fabulous thanksgiving table runner is often full of twists and turns.

  23. I'm sorry that you have to go through all of this Jenny. It sucks!
Someday, it's all going to be over, so hang in there.

  24. and ask for the numbing sticks (They look like small Qtips with fluid in the glass tube. You break the tube and the fluid flows to the cottony tip. I found this somewhat useful when I wanted to eat--as opposed to resorting to aforementioned elephant gun)
I like your croquet balls! very decorative and handy if you want to play a game!
    keep healing....

  25. Oh Jenny! What a rollercoaster!! I have issues also with steroids and other meds.. good info to know. Thank you, and I hope you are completely 100% well soon! Also read about your latest family news. That makes me SO sad for you. My description for when my son moved to Texas from MO: "my heart has been ripped out". Geez, I am such a wimp... lol. (thankfully, he lives close by now). I can't imagine a loved one moving to another country. But on the other hand, with today's technology... this can be a pretty amazing thing. Still, sad.. different.. new normal. But quite an adventure! Best wishes to them.. you.. and your entire family ♥ -Tammy
