A Snowy Sunday in Arizona and Sweets for the Sweet!

First...

Please if you are reading this from one of the many snow-laden parts of the country, forgive me for this...but I thought these pictures were so adorable and I had to share them.

Our granddaughters spent some time in the front yard yesterday under the flower laden Bradford Pear tree pretending it was snowing.

The main problem with this type of "snow" is that when you shake the tree to make it...the tree buzzes... And the other main problem with making "snow" like this is that the blossoms smell bad. It isn't that sweet apple blossom scent you might imagine...it is ... well... icky.

And now for the sweet part.

I found these totally adorable little "sweets" and picked up a few extra to share. So I'm going to share them with one of you! I think they are dishcloths but I'm not really sure. The top one is a cupcake and says "Sweet Treat Dischloth Gift Set" and the bottom one just says "Cake roll Gift Set". Whatever they actually are they are really, really cute. And you are all really, really sweet.

So it seemed like a natural giveaway.

The giveaway is really simple.

You just need to be a follower of my blog and any comments posted on my deep thoughts post yesterday or my snowy thoughts today count. So you can get two entries pretty simply.

I'll draw a winner after nine tonight and get this out in the mail tomorrow to whoever wins these little beauties!

And thank you.

I appreciate your kind words and your understanding!

Which is why I think you are sweet.

But I think I explained that already!

Good luck!

PS Do any of you design jewelry or have Etsy friends who do? I'm looking for a piece of that stamped metal type jewelry to have made up for a friend. Figured I'd keep it "local" before I went to Etsy and did a search. Thank you.

  20. I won't show the picture of the honey bee sampling nectar to my poor Italian honey bees who are clustered in a ball in their hives trying to keep from freezing on this frigid day. It's only suppose to reach 11 degrees for a high. They're grumpy as it is and as for me, I'm staring out the window at the ground dusted with white snow and I'm feeling terribly jealous. You wouldn't want to trade a little of your snow for mine would you? I wouldn't even mind that it didn't smell real pretty.

  21. You are SO sweet! I'm still on giveaway exile, but I appreciate the sentiment, Jenny. I think I am going to have to set a time limit on this lest I start frothing or something. ;-) There are too many shiny objects and wonderful drawings out there, this one included!

Love those Bradford Pears. They really are pretty...

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  24. Hi Jenny - thanks for stopping by my blog and your lovely comment on my forgery! I'm glad I found you cos I've just been reading over your blog and was moved to tears a few times. I have to say your grand-daughter Riley sounds like such an angel. She really reminds me of my daughter Lily who never says anything mean about anyone, is really loyal and very caring - I'm sure they gave me the wrong baby!

Anyway thanks for finding me - am now following you too!

  32. Thank you for letter me know what kind of tree I have. I would never have guessed it to be a pear tree. I have never seen any type of fruit on it. And I definitly wouldn't shake it either because I did notice TONS of bees in it. It is so funny, I told my hubby what kind of tree it was and then today 4 of our neighbors asked him what kind it was while he was outside mowing the lawn and he was finally able to answer them!

  33. Hmmm...I thought I left a comment, but it didn't show up. So, you might get two from me. We have the same kind of snow as you, but I'd rather have the real stuff! Please enter me in the drawing.

  37. When you post and when I read are one day apart. It has to do with time differences and all. So don't think I'm neglecting my reading.

We had Bradford Pears in Maryland at my house. First to bloom and last to lose their leaves. Gorgeous shape, fast growing. And when the petals fall, it IS like snow. It's one of the only fond memories I have of the place.... ;)

  38. LOL, yes those Bradford pears look gorgeous, but do they ever smell bad. We have one in our front yard too.

  39. Hi Jenny, Did I make it on time for the drawing? I'm one who fondly remembers the smell of pear blossoms out Grandma's kitchen door. Still brings me back there. I enjoyed the pictures! Snow here tomorrow!
