My Saturday Centus Shake-up Post!

Jenny Matlock

I just really have to ask, "Who wrote this dumb prompt anyway? And only gave us 50 words?" OK, this was a challenge.

And this is the best I've got. I know I have a few 'tense' errors in the story but I'm still posting it anyway. So there!

Prompt is in bold. And you can click here to link to other more grammatically correct AND interesting Saturday Centus Shake-ups posts!

Ahem....

You can call me John. OK? Here’s the thing about hanging out in the psych ward…all those paranoid schizophrenic weirdos think they are the real deal. They’re certainly all certifiable. One guy, Abraham Lincoln was a lot shorter than I thought he would be...or remembered. I should know. I distinctly remember him being ten inches taller then me when I shot him.

  2. I love this! I did not participate, because 100 words is hard enough for me. The stress was just too much! But it was a great challenge, and you have some really good stories!

Thanks for hosting all of your great memes!

  5. Good response to a challenging prompt!

I must be weird, I had no trouble limiting myself to 50 words on this one - and I knew almost within seconds what I would write about.

After that, it was just editing.

  15. Great job, Jenny. Generally speaking, I enjoy those artists who take their work in a psych ward direction.

They make me feel so sane.

    ;)

    PS. It's all relative, right?

  16. I guess it takes one to know one. Of course I mean the guy claiming to be John LOL. Good job. I gotta say 50 words was tough.

  18. LOL! That was a great story and the twist at the end was perfect! We need more stories about psych wards! Or maybe I'm just getting nostalgic. Ahh, memories...

    Excellent job, Jen, as usual!

Gotta go. The purple fuzzy whiffleburps are trying to nozzle my gloobysnits! Come to me, magic spoon! Krumdle their cheesy toofas! (Don't worry, this happens all the time!)

  19. Clever, creepy, ingeniously crafted! The perfect picture of a madman in a madhouse who does not think he belongs there.
    Weird and intriguing!
