I am absolute certain Thanksgiving gremlins came to my house...

...and left my sink piled high with dirty dishes...

...and my laundry room piled high with dirty linens...

...and my refrigerator stuffed full of leftovers in 12,000 containers...

...and my countertops stacked high with the 'good dishes' that need to be put away...

There is absolutely, totally, completely no way this could be the aftermath of my perfect Normal Rockwell Thanksgiving yesterday.

Hope you're shovelling out where you are!

And that you just finished washing up the last dirty pan...

...so you can, please, please, please come help me.

...

Please.

I have leftover pie!!!

No wonder they call this black Friday.

Sigh...

PS. Hope your Thanksgiving was great!

  2. Hi, Yes I just basked in all this sunshine o'er and yonder here :P Actually yes .

My dishes are all cleaned and I'll just hop on over there and clean your mess .

I'd be the other gremlin cleaning out your fridge entirely of 12,000 containers of leftovers lol

Soooo sounds like you had some company anyway .

  3. lol....Happy Thanksgiving! Great one here, dishes were all done, leftovers put away in about 5 containers - 12,000 would never fix in our frig. Watched a movie "Christmas with the Kranks", then a black friday item at 12:01 - 20 mintues in all at the store and back home.

  4. Sounds like you have all the remains of a great feast!...and those leftovers won't be left for long if your house is anything like mine.

  5. Happy "the day after" Jenny. I am sure your day was wonderful and the digging out, well - it is never fun but it will get done

  7. Sounds like a tribute to a great day had by all. And remember my motto: Turkey sandwiches!

  8. Ha! So know that feeling. Although being at my mother-in-law's place this year(who has 5 daughters of her own) clean up was quick work.

  9. This was funny; thanks for making me laugh! I have to admit that I'm glad they're leaving me alone at the moment.

The housecleaning fairies may charge a bit more, considering the season, but if you can find them....please send them to me!

Have a great weekend and if you go out in the chaos, be careful!

  11. Wheee... Our Family Dinner was at a son's house and our part [the stuffin'] was all done on Fri. night. So I have no left over mess or dishes or etc. Just some brought-home-with-us food. :-)

    -happy dance-

Thank you so much for giving me a chance to "crow." You are a goooood Friend! -giggles-

  12. Oooops NOT stuffin' done on FRIDAY.

    Was done on WEDNESDAY night.

Oh well, I'm already displaying signs of how I'll be mixed up, for what remains of this week!

    >:-)

  13. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving even with the mess!! We are having ours on Sunday. My family would die if I brought out the good china instead of the "Chinet" plates!! They would be afraid that they would have to help wash dishes!!

On Thanksgiving, we had filet mignon and crab legs!! I figured why have turkey twice when we are going to eat it leftover all next week!!

  14. I'm far from finished with the clean-up, but stopping every so often for just one more little piece of pie sorta slows things down.

  15. I'm just glad I have two fridges to stuff containers in!!

  16. I'm with Jeannie. We clean up in shifts with coffee and pie breaks! No shopping here, but the kids left at 11:00pm last night, called me at 3:50 to authorize a purchase, and are still out at 9:20am this morning!

I am still doing things in shifts, will take a nap from 1-3, and start the second job at Macy's at 5:00. Can't wait to see what the dressing rooms look like!

    Happy Day After!!!

  18. Jenny,

Thanks for the chuckle! I went to a friend's farm for Turkey Day, and there were lots of women (and men) to help with cleanup. It was a snap! Then we all ate too much dessert and I burped and pooted all the way home..........cj

  19. Black Friday suddenly makes sense! It is true! I have such a mess in the kitchen, I am terrified to go in there. So I am on the computer. Go figure.
Good luck finding the Kitchen Fairies to help you in there. Too bad those darn elves just help poor shoemakers with shoes.

  20. LOL, I hope you have a great weekend!

  21. lol This is so true of every major holiday! My "good dishes" now go in the dishwasher too. Life is too short to spend standing by the sink:)

  22. Lucky me, my daughter and daughter-in-law always take care of the aftermath. The price they pay to have Thanksgiving at my house. LOL!

  23. Ah, Black Friday...

I have to be pretty desperate for deals for Christmas to ever resort to that form of shopping again...

I didn't have to deal with too terrible of dishes, but we had lots of leftovers.

    Good luck with the mess...
And remember to put out traps for those gremlins...

  24. Yup! They tried to get into my house last night, my dog bit one of them!!!!!! I was sooo tired last night but knew I couldn't wake up tot he mess, so I cleaned 99% of it last night....I am so glad it is done....on to Christmas!!!!!! (Happy Dance) !

  32. Happy Thanksgiving Jenny,
Can I help you out with the last of those pies?
It can be a marathon, but what fun Thanksgiving is!

  33. Not many dishes for us this year-we went to Ken's younger brother's
house and they had the dishes left.
    It was an enjoyable day.

    Have a great weekend.

  34. Hehehe ! I had nothing of all that ! I had Thai food in a restaurant with my Acqua gym group. No Thanksgiving here, we all stayed in Europe, lol !

  35. LEFT OVER PIE!!!!!! Wait for me. I'm on my way!

Oh, wait! It's Saturday. And by the time I get there it will probably be Sunday. OLD leftover pie :(

Maybe I'll just do myself some toast!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'll trade my pies for your pies;
My dirty dishes for your dirty dishes.
    :)
    Have a blessed day Jenny!!!!

  37. Thanksgiving was great over here. However, the making of the feat was fairly disastrous...a series of disasters that somehow ended up still tasting delicious.

Havng said that, every single item in my kitchen cupboard was dirty.

    Every single one.

    =)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Well at least those gremlins didnt eat any of the pie! the more for me then ;)

Shame, we dont actually celebrate it over here in the UK. I guess its just a USA and Canada thing?

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'll come eat your leftovers.
    I have none. NONE!
Ate at my siter's house and she didn't offer to send any leftovers home with us at all. It's times like this that I really hate that my parents did the old cliche of retiring and moving to Florida!

About the 100th time I complained that we should be eating turkey sandwiches for lunch yesterday my daughter commented, "wow! you're really bitter over this aren't you?"
Yes, yes i am! I'll be ranting about it for days!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh, no, those gremlins came here, too! :) The cooking, food, family - always wonderful. The clean up, not so much. And, I want that stove in that image! Happy Saturday! :)
