I am preparing for winter.
Digging out the flannel sheets and heavy blankets. Finding our sweaters and our sweatshirts.
Hauling logs up to the garage to prepare for cozy winter fires.
Do not be confused by this:
It is a dry cold here. A very, very dry cold.
And to us thin-blooded, Arizona arctic tundra dwellers this is cold temps indeed.
Even with heavy mittens it is difficult to type this because of the shivering.
When the Red Cross knocks on your door for emergency donations to help us through this cold spell, please give generously.
We accept all electric blankets, long johns and bottles of spiced rum gratefully.
I would sigh, but my teeth are chattering too hard.
AND...
I know I have been absent from e-mails and blogs all weeks and late finishing up reading AT's. Keep your fingers crossed that Mr. Jenny's computer is actually fixed tomorrow so that I can get access to mine for more than 12 seconds each day! And thanks for your patience with me!
Well Jenny, we have been pretty cold here but this week the highs are in the 70s! It is hard to know what to wear! Push Mr. Jenny into the closet and use his computer while he tries to get out! Pretend like it is a game:) Have a blessed day! HUGS!

Yea, some of our favorite cusine is
cuban food as well, course, we love Mexican and Italian too. Our least fav is chinese I would say, but there is some we like. We learned to love cuban food because we lived in Key West in our younger years,
that is where I learned to make it.
Loved your story about being sick of being positive, you really had Mr. Jenny going there for awhile.
It was really a cute story. Not a lot of good news out there these days so you really have to dig hard sometimes to find the good, but it is always there, and always good to find it.

been rather chilly here in the early mornings and evening. We have dipped into the 40's and 50's as well.
Very unusual for Central Florida this time of the year, course, it usually happens the first weeks of Dec., for the first time. We are really enjoying it!!
I think it must be that global warming for sure, don't you???

I woke up one morning last week and it was 36 degrees! Of course it was 70 by noon, but still! I do not do cold, if it drops below 70 I'm freezing. This week we got a reprieve, but they said another cold front is headed our way. Which means I need to dig out our coats too. And to everyone up North reading this, quit laughing. ReplyDeleteFunny. And so true. It's 4:30 in the morning and I got up to shut all the windows. I don't use heat very much. So here I am typing with a sweatshirt on and warm fuzzy jamies and cozy socks on my little cold feet with hot chocolate at my reach. Amazing the difference in temps here, isn't it.

It is 52 degrees here in sunny Florida this morning. My poor Chihuahuas even ran in from their morning constitution and ran straight for a swathe of Mr. Sunshine that comes through our front window, and I had my hubs turn on the heat just to take the chill off. So I guess that makes me a thin blooded tropic dweller?? Really hoping you get your computer up and running again! What would my day be like without a Jenny fix? Stay warm my friend!!:)~Ames

It's very cold here too - 74F high today which means jeans, long T's and sweatshirts :-) I miss the heat.

ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for down there, Jenny. I'd hate for you to perish from the cold - even the dry cold - which I thought only existed a wee bit further north, where we once lived, where it was such a dry cold that the sound of a jet engine would shatter ice crystals in the air (honestly) and skin could quickly freeze and flake off at -40 (before the wind chill, which could take it lower).

ReplyDeleteIt is actually warmer here the past 2 days than it was in Florida our last 3 days. People there were wearing layers upon layers and the weather people acted as if temps in the 40's would kill them all. Granted it was a bit brisk first thing in the morning, but when it gets up to 60 something in the afternoon, that just isn't cold!!!
