Oh, the times, they are a changing...

...

At least at my house.

You remember my little tattoo dresser?

I sold it.

In less than 10 hours.

For a nice little pile of $20's.

And now Mr. Jenny has grandiose plans of retiring and living off the income I make from painting tattoo furniture...

...I know this for certain because...

He has graciously told me I can use as much of the garage as I want for my finds...

AND...

He even SUGGESTED we go to garage sales this past weekend...

Where we scored this totally cool industrial stool that is being re-done in charcoal gray and lime green as soon as I can get the last leg-raiser thing-y out of the leg pipe thing-y...

And today he dragged himself away from his desk and took me to some building supply re-cyclers where instead of finding plywood (for a modern art idea I want to try with 412 two by four ends)...

...we found this totally amazing sideboard for 40 bucks!

And so now when I go outside, instead of being worried about being attacked by hummingbirds, I now have to worry about being dive-bombed by these...

Because, honestly, I never thought I'd see the day when Mr. Jenny actually ENCOURAGED me to bring junk home!

So yeah...

The times, they are a changing...at the Matlock house.

  1. Congrats! It only takes a few Jacksons to make skeptics believers! Don't worry, the flying pigs are a lot friendlier than the hummingbirds:@)

But really... "Walking on broken glass"?????????????? Not a pretty picture...but it has a good beat and I can dance to it.

  4. Jenny, the title of your post is a little premature - we don't turn the clocks back for quite a few months.

  5. Hey - I wanted that. I just didn't know you were going to sell it. I thought you were probably all sentimentally connected with it after that amazing work you did on it. It was adorable in the end. Glad you could restore it in such a neat way.

Now. I have a few things in my house........oh well never mind. Even I wouldn't tackel those. :)

  6. Pigs do fly in Cincinnati, once known as Porkopolis! There are many decorative flying pigs around the city, almost as pretty as your little tattoo dresser, Jenny

  8. Ha! I guess you showed him...Congratulations on the sale. That is awesome! I love the sideboard and chair. I can't wait to see what magic you create.

As for hummingbirds...those little moochers. I bought a feeder this spring and placed in the back yard hoping to see pretty little humingbrds darting about. The feeder is nearly half empty and I have yet to see even one hummingbird in the vicinity. The least they could do is provide a little entertainment for their dinner.

Have a fabulous day, Jenny! La

  15. I am serious! If I haul my former rolling oak microwave cabinet up to you, will you design something and paint it for me? I will send you a photo of it in it's current condition. It lives in my powder room and it looks a little plain.

  22. I'm not at all surprised that your dresser sold so quickly. Congrats on your profit!! Did you list it for sale in the paper/craigslist, take it to a local store or did you put it outside with a sign? The new owner is ecstatic, I'm sure!

The new pieces are fantatic! I'm practically salivating over the sideboard!

I have a big trash to treasure project (several, actually) planned for the backyard. I'm hoping to work on it over the weekend if the weather cooperates.

High fives to Mr. Jenny for changing his tune!!

Stop by when you have a chance, I'm having a giveaway.

  23. That's great, isn't it interesting how quickly some men change their minds when there's money involved. (But they love to accuse women of the same thing. ;)
