Don't tell Mr. Jenny but...

...I'm thinking about being nice to him.

Oh, don't get me wrong...not nice to him every single day (I wouldn't want him to become complacent here!) but perhaps twice a week. Or possibly even three times.

It's because of the TV remote.

It's because the other night I was half-asleep and mangling replaying the DVR recording of 'The Good Wife'.

And Mr. Jenny said, "Listen, you're half asleep, do you want me to do the remote?"

And I said, "Well, no...I'm a lot better at it than you are..."

And Mr. Jenny said, "Well, really, not so much. You really aren't."

And I said, "Hmmm...yeah, I think I am."

And the sweet man, bless his almost senior citizen heart, didn't say anything else.

And so for the rest of the show I paid close attention.

And yeah, I kinda/sorta stunk at operating the remote, too.

And after 'The Good Wife' was over I asked him, "Why didn't you tell me I stunk at operating the remote?"

And he said, and I quote, "You always get so much pleasure thinking you are better than me at it."

Awwww...

Awwww...

Seriously.

And he has never said a word. Ever.

Awwww....

Is that darn closed to a Hallmark moment or what?

So now you know.

I am a shameless romantic when it comes to TV remote operations!

...

...

Sigh...

  3. You guys are just so sweet and funny.

  4. I love heaping abuse on my husband over the remote control, such as "why don't you pay attention? If you were a battery you'd be a never-ready!" Feel free to use that one yourself.

  6. I hate the family room remote. I can't even figure out how to turn the darn thing on. You have to push this button and then that button...sometimes I want to throw it at my husband. I think he has it so complicated so I won't get to pic what I want to watch on the big TV. Even if I could figure out how to turn it on, I couldn't figure out how to change the channel. And I can't find my shows because he watches all those HD channels. He's not stupid...and I'm not either. It's a conspiracy I tell ya! I like my little office tv remote. One click and you are there.~Ames

  10. How cute... I rather have someone else work the remote so I can focus on other stuff... unless of course I'm actually focusing on the TV then I'm only ok with someone handling the remote for me if they fast forward through commercials:-)

  15. Haha! Those remotes can be tricky creatures - they're so much smarter than we are. My husband still hasn't figured out how to use our new remote. I have no plans whatsoever to show him. Remote knowledge is power!!!

  16. My hubby doesn't have a clue about the DVR, so I definitely rule in that department!

I recorded The Good Wife the other night and planned to watch it. Talked to my Son a little later and he informed me the ballgame ran late, so my recording won't be complete. Grrrrrr... I HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS!

  23. Ahhhhh...that was sweet of him. Those remotes aren't always easy to operate these days. At least you watch the same show. We're always in different rooms watching different shows.

  25. haha! I have to admit that I am terrible at the remote! Ugh!!!! I even have to call someone, if I want to play a DVD!!! What a Hallmark moment this was & sweetie your hubby is! lol It is a rare occasion that my hubby is wrong, so I dont mean to bring it up when he is wrong, but um..well...yeah, maybe I do :o) But always in a sweet way :o)

Love getting a glimpse of you and your hubby's fun times!

    Blessings & Aloha!
