It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

...

Somewhere...

But not here in the low desert.

It's been raining for a few days straight and all the trees with fall color are starting to turn...

...so while I'm decorating and playing Christmas music, I really feel like baking a pumpkin dessert and getting out all the Thanksgiving decorations instead!

  5. I am so in the mood for some pot roast or stew. But with the temperatures in the 60's I think it will be grilled chicken and pasta salad instead. Oh, by the way...pumpkin pie transcends any and all seasons!

  7. Yep, girl...I'm with Theresa here all the way! Close those windows and crank the air down if ya want to freeze.

Or ya could always come visit me. Last week we had ice and snow. To that I say...UCK!!!

God bless ya sweetie and have a fantastic day chillin' out! :o)

  10. We may or may not have a sprinkle of the white stuff for Christmas - it's predicted, so I'm getting things ready in case we're stranded for a day or two. The secret? - I'd really like it to happen. After all the presents and goodies are in the house, of course.

  11. I know how you feel. It is still pretty mild here, I am not complaining, but our trees are finally bare. xo

  12. I know the feeling Jenny !

But it sure beats ice, snow and the mess that brings. Already have been to 2 Christmas parties, I'm almost done with my decorating, now on to getting the rest of my cards out in the mail and doing a little baking !

  14. Oh I so know what you mean. Although I want to keep it rather hush, hush so old man winter doesn't wake up and throw us a winter storm! We too have been having rain...even still right now....last night I finished the lights for outside....only to be lit on Christmas Eve, I leave some things just for that day to be extra special...and of course my Christmas music is playing, but oh heavens no I'd never wish for Thanksgiving again....just spring!

  15. It may not feel much like Christmas where you are, but it beats the summer heat, in my opinion.

  16. awe ... on the other hand, you could be way up here were we do get snow (but none so far this year) and we dont have oranges or are those lemons hanging from the trees .... and all of the branches are bare and the skies grey ... honey count your blessings, I dream of being a snow bird and trading my cold winters for the warm of yours!

  17. Same here, actually. It's cold here now, but looks-wise, we're right in the middle of fall!

  19. I can so relate. We don't get beautiful fall colors, but there are a few trees that turn yellow and they're doing that now. Leaves are falling like crazy, but the A/C is back on humming to get the humidity out. It's only about 75 outside, but everything is so wet and damp. I guess that's OK since it might help a little with the drought. I am getting tired of all the leaves being dragged into the house on our feet and the dog.

  20. If I want snow, I can get in the car and drive to it in about 90 minutes. That's close enough for me!

  21. Amazingly we've had a day and a half or rain. It's all brown and mud here. At least you've got green.
