Dear Dorothy,

There you were.

In the middle of that tornado.

Everything whirling and swirling around you.

It's enough to make anyone dizzy.

And fearful.

I wish you could have seen your face when the house finally touched down.

I wish you could have seen all the emotions that rippled across...

Wonder.

Fear.

Curiousity.

Dear Dorothy.

Change is always a bit of a whirlwind, isn't it?

Wonder.

Fear.

Curiousity.

I'm waiting for the tornado to land.

And I'm definitely not in Kansas anymore.

  1. Dear Jenny,
Remember that time when the girl and her dog went through a whirlwind and landed in a land completely foreign and strange to them? Remember how it was really wonderful and she had adventures and friends and some gorgeous shoes? I think everyone's whirlwind is scary but in the end, there are crazy adventures and the lesson is learned that home is in your heart. Or something like that. Just remember to take along your dog, heart brain and courage, okay?

  3. This is a beautiful piece, Jenny.

On a sidenote, I met Ray Bolger (the Scarecrow) in person. He was an amazing, loving man.

With love and faith that you'll find home.

  5. I take change at a slower pace than others. When things seem to spin to fast in my world I just lay down and tap a nap. Sometimes when I wake those things to seem so terribly bad.

    Take a nap Jenny. :)~Ames

  8. Remember there was a happy ending. Everyone had exactly what they needed and Dorothy made it home again.

One of my favorite all time shows.

  9. Have a safe landing, wherever that is. (and if this is a "for real" you know where I am)

  10. My daughter acted as the good witch and dressed in a wedding gown. She was the most beautiful and talented person in that production. LOL, according to her mum.

The boys did not have to redone the model. Sorry I wasn't very clear. It was a small school. My Dad was the DEO, the boss of education dept of the area. I was sure the principal was accommodating because of that.

But it wasn't my Dad, I was very popular with the kids.

  17. Well written, Jenny. I know you have courage and a heart, so maybe you now just need to take a nap in that sleep-inducing flower meadow and find the red slippers. laurie
