It didn't work!

I am annoyed.

Fully inspired by the calendar...

...and the fact that it is ALMOST September 1...

I made a pot of chili last night for dinner.

Chili.

Classic autumn fare.

Chili.

A warm bowl to warm your innards when the nights grown brisk.

Chili.

Not powerful enough to begin to invoke Fall when the temps are still triple digit and the humidity is make-up melting.

I tried, though.

Chilly?

Nope.

Not yet.

But I do have a little bit of heartburn now.

Sigh.

  2. Hi Jenny! Gee, what WERE you thinking?? LOL

  5. Humidity?? I always thought that's why people move to Arizona because it's dry heat with no humidity. I don't want you to be jealous but it's in the 70's here today. Wish I could send some to you.

  7. Definitely cool here in the morning - sweater or light-jacket cool. Then it's duvet-cool at night. Fall is really on the way!

  10. recommendation -- go to Panera. They have the best white chicken chili (and insist on making it available in the summer, despite my emails.)

  11. If only! My attempt to coax the weather would have been with hot chocolate and marshmallows, but that wouldn't have worked either. Ugh!

  21. I can eat chili year round! Night before last, it was very dark and rainy, so I made spaghetti. I make it with Merlot, which gives it a very rich flavor. Hey! I could put it in chili as well!!!

  24. Love chili -- but only when the weather is cold (which is like for 10 minutes here in TX) and with cornbread!!
Another good use of a crock pot too, once you get the rocks out of it....
    : )

  25. Well, it was worth a try, right? And i guess the chili backfired, didn't it? Instead of making the weather any cooler, it made your innards hotter. Cheap trick it played on you!
