In a world filled with unaccountable people...

...I just need to say, "It's really, really NOT my fault that I gave an innocent man a heart attack over the weekend!"

Mr. Jenny and I made a big step last week and traded his fancy, schmancy older car in for a pick-up.

White.

White pick-up.

In Arizona.

So when Mr. Jenny said he'd meet me curbside at the busy grocery store this weekend, we went there in our new ride.

The store was insanely busy.

By the time I was done grabbing the final few items I needed I was pretty frazzled...

...and so...

...when I gave a strange guy a heart attack...

I was truly, truly not responsible.

It wasn't REALLY my fault.

I saw a white truck at the curb...

I opened the passenger door...

I started to throw my purse into the front seat...

...and then I glanced up...

...to see a very, very astonished man!

His mouth was open in a perfect oval of shock and surprise.

And he WASN'T Mr. Jenny.

"Ummm...Ummm," I blurted.  "Wrong white truck!   Sorry!"

See what I mean?

I'm not accountable for scaring this guy half to death!

Right?

I can see him now telling the story, "So, yeah, this crazy looking woman with her hair all sticking up burst into the cab of my truck...I was sure it was truck-jacking...I mean...she was scary looking!"

Not.

My.

Fault.

I cannot be held accountable for scaring the poor guy.

And, geez.

What was he thinking anyway?

Buying a white truck in Arizona?

D'oh.

Sigh...

  8. I did the same thing once.....and, yes, we have a white truck. The first thing I noticed, before seeing it was the wrong man and the wrong truck, was that there was no dog hair on the seat.

  11. Too funny - and guess what? It can also happen to 1999 dark green Saturns - of which there are tons of in Wisconsin. I speak from experience!
We also have thousands of houses with forest green roofs, but so far I have not walked into the wrong one. - however the day is just starting :o)

  13. This happened to my husband and I recently! We were at Costco parking lot packing up our car when a woman opened the door of our car and sat down. She seemed very confused as to why we were putting food into her car..lol and we had a hard time convincing her it was our silver subaru and not hers!...lol!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Jenny! ♥

  15. Oh that's so you! That's just one of the adorable things I love about you pretty lady. Very nice new truck, and white is the only color that should be allowed in Arizona....all those other colors are soooo hot!

    Love ya'

  16. So I had a white Ford pickup for years just like every other horse owner in Utah. I was leaving a horse show one night, worn out, sweaty and pretty much looking kind of sad. I stood in front of my truck and the key would work! I stood there trying to shove it in for a few minutes when this nice cowboy comes up and says "Can I help you?"

I said, "My key won't work."

He said, "That's because this is my truck."

HAH! He was so sweet though, he carried my saddle and other stuff and helped me find my own truck...

    yikes!

  21. Oh Jenny, this cracked me up. You know why? My mother did the same thing at church. My Dad worked for Volvo, so he had a new company car every 6 months. My mom had a new lease car every year. I will admit that even I had trouble keeping track of what cars we had. (I was in college - that's my main excuse). Mom liked to visit after church. The rest of us would get in the car, pull up to the curb, and wait. We laughed our butts off when she got into the Volvo in front of us. Blue. We were in a cream one. Sigh. My mother has many great qualities, but memory is not one of them...

for Mr. and Mrs. Jenny? Hey...

it's not your fault he wrecked his day.
