Ethereal?

Man.

I tried and tried to be clever and come up with something about little kids fighting over Lucky Charms...

you know...ummm... cereal?

ummm...

blush...

Instead I was forced to write something serious.

And moderately depressing.

Be assured this is fiction written for the word prompt 'ethereal'.

Everything is good with Mr. Jenny.

And, sadly, we are nowhere near close to winter here in HeatStrokeVille, Arizona.

Ahem.

Here's my hundred words.

Standing in the winter air
Believing things that just aren’t there.
Misreading things in time and space.
This fall is hard…
…this fall from grace.
Standing in the winter sun
scarce believing things you’ve done.
Don’t you see my weeping face?
This fall is hard.
…this fall from grace.
Can’t you see me dissolving here
like forest mist?
Can’t you care?
I’m waiting in the winter light
Pretending things will be all right.
A wisp of heart and soul and face…
This fall is hard…
…this fall from grace.
To not be loved is no disgrace…
This fall is hard…

  5. Lovely, but yes.. sad. You have a gift, and that is for certain. I truly don't know how you tolerate the heat where you live. This sweltering August is about to get the best of me, here in central MO! -Tammy

  6. Thank you for letting me know up front that everything was ok with you both. :)
YOU are a tremendously talented writer. I'm sure you've been told that before, but I am a repetitive kind of person. YOU rock.

Hi! Thanks for leaving a comment! My handy dandy e-mail assistant always notifies me when you do and I read every single one.

I try to respond to comments with a return e-mail BUT I just noticed that I've been answering a lot of them to blogs that haven't linked their e-mail address to their Google account! I haven't been ignoring your comments, but now I know you aren't getting my reply e-mails! I'm sorry!

I know a lot of other bloggers who respond to comments via e-mail so if you haven't left off your e-mail on purpose, you might want to add it on! If you don't know how you can let me know in your comment and I'll see if I can help you!

Thanks so much for reading my 'Tangents'! Your comments always feel like a hug!
