My apologies Lovin' Spoonful.

I know you might not be able to tell, but this was actually one of my favorite songs from the 70's.   That's why I feel so bad to have totally butchered the bolded prompt.

But.

Hey.

As I explained below.

I'm hot.

My brain has fried.

But I still did it in exactly 106 words!

Sigh.

Hot time.   Summer in the city.

My brain’s so fried I can’t be witty.

If I wasn’t so fat

I’d wear something bitty.

All around, Arizona’s frying.

I’m sorry.  I can’t help whining.

Hot town.  Isn’t it a pity.

I didn’t take the winter to get fitty.

I’m sorry now to the gym I didn’t gitty.

All around, Arizona’s frying.

I’m sorry.  I can’t help whining.

Hot town.   Evening in the city.

Car still so hot you need to wear mitty’s.

All around, Arizona’s frying.

I’m sorry.   But I think I’m dying.

Gonna go to every corner of the city.

‘Til I find the best AC.

  3. Have I told you before that you'd make a great wrapper? :)

I'm sorry you're so hot and fried. :(

  4. That was good Jenny! Where we live it's been mild all summer. Most days it doesn't even hit 75. Problem is...we aren't at home that much. Where we are right now, it is as hot as can be. Or as the Loving Spoonful would say, "hotter than a match head."

I remember the first time I heard that song. It was the summer of 1966 and I was doing yard work and had the radio blaring from the porch.

  5. Love the last line, it had me laughing. Great song, great take in it! We just matched (possibly broke) the record for hottest summer ever. I feel your hot pain.

  6. Ha.Ha. The music was playing in my head to accompany your lyrics. My AZ grandkids concur -- it is REALLY, REALLY HOT in AZ ALL THE TIME!!!

  7. Still laughing. You're a spot on poet! My favorite line - now to the gym I didn't gitty. Anyway, you captured exactly how I feel about summer time in the city. Blessings, Tia

  9. You made me laugh out loud for the first time in . . . too many days. A number of years ago we went to a craft fair. The remnants of The Lovin' Spoonful played. They were quite pitiful without John Sebastian. Now I'm starting to wonder if they were the worst I've ever heard, or if it was The Subdudes, who opened for Huey Lewis And The News.

    Love,
    Janie
