Alphabe-Thursday Letter U

Good morning class.

Welcome to round ten of Alphabe-Thursday! Today we will be studying the understated letter:

Unbelievable as it sounds, I'm waiting to see three different specialists in the next two weeks.  I'm still resisting the pain clinic but my willpower is waning...oh wait.   That's two 'w' words.   Sigh.

At this point we seem to be fighting three different conditions.  I had a parathyroid tumor removed right before Thanksgiving and got relief from most of the deep bone pain for several weeks before it returned with a vengeance.  I am also unable to maintain Vitamin D with excessive amounts of vitamin B along with a myriad list of other blood issues.  Doing mega-dosing of D and had a long series of nuclear testing last week.  Seeing the endocrine specialist next week to determine if there are more parathyroid adenomas at this point.  The neuro pain has also accelerated greatly and that degeneration continues but I got accepted into a Rheumotoid research group AND a neuromuscular Group...both of whom I see Mid-April.  Thank heavens for insurance...and for the most patient, nurturing husband in the universe.   Still resisting the pain clinic, but my willpower is waning in that area.  Oh wait.   That was two "W" words.   Sigh.

Just thought I'd update you a little.   Visit a few extra links this week for me if you get a chance...I'd sure appreciate it!

And now...

The usual...

Please link directly to your Alphabe-Thursday URL (if you don't know how to do this let me know!) and please continue to visit the five links before and after your link and leave a comment. Minimum of 10 links visited please. You can visit more if you like, of course, and please try very hard to visit the blogs that visit you for this meme.

If you have any difficulties with your link, please make sure to include the number of the link when you e-mail me. It is really difficult for me to find you easily otherwise.

If you have any questions about Alphabe-Thursday or problems doing your link just post it in a comment or send me an e-mail. I'll do my best to help you as quickly as I can.

The McLinkey will be live from 1:00 pm MST time Wednesday afternoon in an effort to assist our lovely "friends across the pond" and continue through 10:00 am MST time Friday morning!

And remember.... link back to this post, you need to be registered as a follower of my blog, PG posts only, and you must visit at least 10 other posts...perhaps consider starting from the last posts and work backwards. The links will stay live after the final post deadline has passed so you can even wait and visit over the weekend or whenever you have more time.

Please link your easy to understand post now!

You won't be able to utilize D without Magnesium. Serum magnesium tests are useless, because it measures the magnesium in the blood. You need (at least) an RBC magnesium test. Vitamin D require magnesium as a necessary co-factor. When you take high doses of Vitamin D and if you are already low in magnesium, the increased amount of metabolic work drains magnesium from its muscle storage sites. That's probably why muscles are the first to suffer magnesium deficiency symptoms -- twitching, leg cramps, restless legs and charlie horses. Angina and even heart attacks affecting the heart muscle are all magnesium deficiency symptoms.

I'm so sorry to hear things are still so painful. I do hope this new round of doctors and tests can help.

Good morning, Jenny ~~ Nice to hear from you with the update. Lots of hope there, isn't there?
My SIL has had two parathyroid glands removed. The procedure went good for her also and DID remove her problems associated with them.
A few years back I had several issues, some terribly painful (probably not as bad as yours though), I could not even ride in a car over a few miles sitting up or laying down in the back seat.
I'm pretty much okay now but different situations put me with a knee transplant and a crushed vertebrae restored since those others. Also four stents that I wasn't born with.
For sure, there is nothing fast with the medical field except for extreme emergency and life saving measures.
BEST WISHES WITH THEM, I DO HAVE YOU IN MY PRAYERS.

So sorry to hear that they are still testing and searching for answers. It is so miserable to be in pain all the time. It wears on you, that's for sure. You are in my thoughts and prayers! :):)

I surely hope I don't come off as preachy or telling you what to do. What we have learned about pain in the past is erroneous. We used to be taught that we needed to "tough it out," that we were "weak" if we acknowledged the existence of our pain or "let it stop us."
My cousin is a nurse who got her license four years ago. She had been a CNA for many years before that. What she learned in the past was "people who take pain medication and are asking for more are addicts engaging in drug-seeking behavior." When she got her nursing license, things had changed greatly. The new (and much better) thought is that "pain is what the patient says it is." People are highly discouraged from using terms like "drug seeking behavior." In fact, she tells me that people with severe chronic pain can take very high doses of narcotics which would knock a normal person on their butt, and never, ever feel a high from it because their body is in such desperate need of those substances to control the pain at all.
Long-winded story short, I'd encourage you not to resist at least visiting the pain clinic and finding out what they can do for you. I hate to think of such a nice person struggling so. You are very strong and brave from where I stand, although it may not seem so to you. Take care!

Hi Jenny, I am sad your health situation has not improved. I think about meeting you and Mr. Jenny and the fun we shared. I will keep praying and I know somehow they will find out what is going to make you well. This may sound silly, but have you been around mold? I remember a patient who came to the office where I was once worked, she was an attorney, young, in her 30s with a brand new home and sick and in pain constantly. Somehow she was infected with mold, breathing it in. It is just a thought in case they did not look into that. Then there is Carol Perkins, a former super model who was disabled for two years and saw specialist after specialist to no avail. She was finally correctly diagnosed with Cushing's disease. Anything I find out I want to share with you because you just never know. Praying for you sweet lady. Love to you and Mr. Jenny.

Oh shoot! I've been absent again...my computer quit and I had to wait for my "computer son" to come fix it. I missed two weeks of Alphabe-Thursday. I am so sorry that things haven't gotten better for you. This has been going on for too long! I'm keeping you (and Mr. Jenny) in my prayers. Hang in there! Betty
