A few letters shy of a good excuse...

Grrrr....

Don't talk to me today.

I'm crabby.

My brain is all jumbled up with stuff.

You know?

Like who made this big mess on my desk?

Like what can I do to keep the birds from eating my corn seeds?

Like what the heck does this say on my cattle-prod board? And how can I write about it if I can't even read the ridiculous thing?
Huh?

Cattle-prod board? You know. Where you write down ideas for the days when you can't think of anything to write about. Or the days you are to crabby to write.

Because, obviously, writing about Eyot???? n??? will make a fascinating post.

So...this morning I told Mr. Jenny "please don't talk to me because I am crabby."

And he said, "huh?"

And I said, "what part of not talking to me don't you understand?"

And he said, "what are you talking about?"

And I said, "you are dumb...quit talking to me" and huffed off.

And as I was huffing off I think he mumbled something like, "women...PMS...geez."

So now I am sitting here feeling a little silly for being so crabby.

Because...

I really don't have a good excuse.

I lost my "M" about 10 years ago.

Which means I can't really have a "P" anymore.

And that just leaves an "S" to explain my crabbiness.

Which seems like a pretty pathetic reason to be grumpy.

...

So I guess I'll just stop.

Being crabby that is.

And to make me feel even less-crabby I'm going to go and tell my husband I forgive him.

Because that will really confuse him.

And that will make me even happier.

Because that's what a woman armed with only the pathetic excuse of the letter "S" for "syndrome" has available in her arsenal of good excuses for "crabby just because".

Sigh.

PS. If you need to read another "Crabby Just Because post" to make YOURSELF less crabby here is a link to one!

PPS. Thank you for all your lovely comments yesterday. It may sound strange but everytime I felt sad I read them. And they made me smile. And I didn't even need a good letter excuse to feel better. Thank you for that.

PPPS. Speaking of even more letters here I will figure out the Alphabe-Thursday drawing tomorrow. I need to put all the qualifying letter entries together which is just making feel crabby again....so I'm going to wait!

  2. I love this idea! I keep a little notebook with me in my purse when I come across ideas like this. Every little dumb things seem to inspire me - like yesterday I saw a bumper sticker that said "the voices in my head are sing showtunes" - I so can use this to create something!!! Have a great one!

  3. Awwwwwwww Hon, you're just having left over icky-feelings from yesterday. Don't worry too much about today's grumpiness, because of that.

But do forgive Hubby. They all deserve it. Well, hubbies like you and I have, do anyway. :-)

    Gentle Spring hugs...

I think Mr. Jenny is ok with that.

  33. Some days start crabby and then you see the flowers starting to bloom and the birds singing and you look around and see all the wonderful people and things that you are blessed to have in your life and the crabbiness goes away...or you see some adorable little children and they make you laugh and and you can't be crabby and laugh!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I was crabby this morning also. It lasted for about two hours and then I just did not have the energy to continue in my crabbiness. Maybe it is the day.

    ReplyDelete

  39. Hi Jenny!

Love you logic there, girl. There is definitely a method to your madness! LOL

Thanks for visiting and following. I don't know how you stumbled over to my place, but so glad you did! I am now following you and so happy to do so.

Cattle Prod board uh? My first thought was ~ you were running a cattle ranch and someone messed with your notes on which animals were ready to ship! Oh well, ranching is a tough life anyway!

    Have a great weekend!

    You make me smile. :)

  43. Love it. I was feeling crabby. And then I stumbled over here. Now I am feeling crabby with a side of smile.
I perplex my husband in exactly the same manner. High five to us for having men who put up with mysteriously cantankerous women. Double high five to them.

  45. Being a woman myself, I say you are absolutely certainly entitled to be crabby every now and then. Mr. Jenny was lucky you gave him fair warning, it's his own fault for not listening to you!

  46. Nobody can be sunshine and light ALL the time. Oh hang on - I am !

    Bahahahahahahah...as if!

Maybe one of our husbands should start an online support group for husbands affected by PMS?

Hope you feel less cranky soon. Cranky is OK occasionally.

  47. I gave my "M" to some of my younger friends a bit more than 5 years ago and they were overjoyed because then they had "M and M's"!!

    Gosh, I just kill myself!!!

Would you mind considering doing a blog post where in you explain Shakira's comment above? I can't be the only one who read it and wondered.

    Feel better..and better..and better. K?

  48. OMG, this post was too funny for words! Hope you get your "S" together. Heeheeheeeeeeeeeee

  49. OH! Jenny.... I should be "crabby" continuously, if it meant looking at my "creative" mess... And I thought your cattle-prod board was just a "to-do" list...what a great idea! I will need to look into having a cattle-prod board (however, I am so very thankful for your creative genius in Alphabe-Thursday posts! It really helps me when thinking of what to write about!...and thank you for being such an understanding host for your truly...the "most behind-ness student, I am sure...um not talking about my behind as my derrier...I thought I should clarify that).

I have to get going, but will be catching up later on your earlier posts.

I love your convos with your hubby! ...Actually....I love all your posts!

    Blessings & Aloha!
(Hope your having a "crab-free" day!)

  52. Hi Jenny,

Thanks for the New Friend Friday comment. So nice to meet ya.
I hope you can stop "S"ing. As for me I still have the M and two female teenagers so I'm taking full advantage of the excuse. (Come to think of it, so are they.) lol

Hi! Thanks for leaving a comment! My handy dandy e-mail assistant always notifies me when you do and I read every single one.

I try to respond to comments with a return e-mail BUT I just noticed that I've been answering a lot of them to blogs that haven't linked their e-mail address to their Google account! I haven't been ignoring your comments, but now I know you aren't getting my reply e-mails! I'm sorry!

I know a lot of other bloggers who respond to comments via e-mail so if you haven't left off your e-mail on purpose, you might want to add it on! If you don't know how you can let me know in your comment and I'll see if I can help you!

Thanks so much for reading my 'Tangents'! Your comments always feel like a hug!
