On Thursday I meant to...

...catch up on my e-mails, plant some lettuce in the garden, clean the bathrooms, watch TV, finish a Greg Iles book I've been reading, make a great dinner, write a few chapters about Pearl AND call some friends.

Instead I cleaned my office and the bookshelves in our little library from 7 am until 3 pm.

During that time I didn't even get dressed. I just sorted and hauled and cleaned and cursed (who made that mess anyway) and organized and cleaned some more.

And when I was done I ended up with such a clean office/craft area that I thought I'd actually show you pictures.

I'm not a decorator as you shall see, but I love my house and we live in every bit of it!

So...with no further apologizing for not being one of those perfectly coordinated gorgeous house decorating blogs...

See how tidy it looks with the curtain closed. There used to be a closet door on there but it always fell off and none of our sons took my nagging hints to repair it so I took it down and threw it away. Yea. That'll teach 'em for ignoring their poor, old, construction-handicapped Mom.

And see all the perfectly clean book shelves? You can even pick up a book now without a big pile of dust falling on your head. Go me!

And just to make up for the fact that I didn't visit your blog, e-mail you OR read your Alphabe-Thursday link I will leave you with a few Autumn jokes to make up for that inconvenience.

Q: What did one autumn leaf say to another?
A: I'm falling for you.

Q: How do you fix a broken pumpkin?
A: With a pumpkin patch

Q: What's the ratio of a pumpkin's circumference to its diameter?
A: Pumpkin Pi

Ha.

HA!

ha?

You liked the jokes right? And the little tour? And you were totally impressed with my organization skills, I could tell.

Now the trick is for me not to actually work at my desk or make anything from my craft closet.

Sigh...

  3. What a great work area. Large but it still looks cozy. If your work area was anything like mine can get you needed every minutes of that time to get it back together. I love the jokes. Those are my favorite kind because I get them. I probably already told you that in the past.

  6. Hi Jen! Looking Good Girl! I can relate with your hours of cleaning - organizing. I did just that the other day- hauling, tossing, reminiscing, trying to figure out why the heck I had SO many organizing totes that were empty...sheesh - then had to mess everything up again to make room for a replacement window install.
P.S. There may still be piles of dust that fall on my head when retrieving a book;)

  7. Looks great to me, Jenny. I removed the doors from a double closet and put in shelves too and your book shelves have the same design as ones in my livingroom! Your rooms are very warm and inviting!

  12. Hey Girlfriend,

I miss you! The office looks great, but I thought that was Mr. Jenny's room???? I thought your room was further down the hall. I must be all messed up, cause your house is so big, and I got lost in it. If anyone reads my comment; Ms. Jenny's house is gorgeous, huge, and very fun! My favorite space in your house is your den, cause I looked through all your books.......I love doing that, and you have a bay window in there, too, so cute and comfy!

Hey you haven't finished giving me all the christmas presents list. I've only got for 7 people. Are there more, or is that it?

    Love ya'

  17. Actually, I loved your jokes.

But not as much as I love that cozy little nook with the leather chair and quilt. I wish I lived close so I could drop by, sit in that chair. and pester you whilst you were trying to read and comment sagely and/or humorously on all of the Alphabe-Thursday and Saturday Centus posts.

    ;)

PS. I'll bet we would have some fun.

  19. Looks pretty darn neat and organized to me. I have a room, but everybody else seems to have decided that it their "storage" room. So I bought a laptop and roam around the house, or outside the house with it, unitl I find a spot.

Doesn't it feel good to get things in order??? Unfortunately I only get things in order. Then I don't want to mess it up again, so I do nothing. Pathetic!!

Hi! Thanks for leaving a comment! My handy dandy e-mail assistant always notifies me when you do and I read every single one.

I try to respond to comments with a return e-mail BUT I just noticed that I've been answering a lot of them to blogs that haven't linked their e-mail address to their Google account! I haven't been ignoring your comments, but now I know you aren't getting my reply e-mails! I'm sorry!

I know a lot of other bloggers who respond to comments via e-mail so if you haven't left off your e-mail on purpose, you might want to add it on! If you don't know how you can let me know in your comment and I'll see if I can help you!

Thanks so much for reading my 'Tangents'! Your comments always feel like a hug!
