Excuse me, are you sure it's Monday?

Because I'm feeling distinctly like I missed a day this weekend.

Not that it was busy around here or anything.

And not that it was busy with some kind of off the wall things...

Our weekend officially started off with a seriously Mozambiqued-up April Fools joke. (if you need a definition for Mozambiqued-up just click here) I think my daughter is still mad at me.

I sent her a text telling her our house was broken into...

and then I went to send her another text telling her that someone had stolen my sanity...

BUT...

She called me before I could text her the 'punch line' all upset. I kept trying to tell her 'someone stole my sanity', but she didn't get it. When she finally did, she said, "OMG, I was so worried...I thought something might have happened to the dog. That was really mean Mom!" and then she hung up on me.

Hmmm...

Hmmm...

Geez. Some people have no sense of humor.

Okay, yeah. That didn't go too well.

And then we had dinner with Mr. Jenny's ex-mother and father-in-law. Delightful people! I love them both. I keep trying to come up with some way that they can be MY in-laws but I'm pretty sure that would involve polygamy in one skewed form or another...and I'm not sure how to make the multiple wife thing work because I've been seriously trying to avoid watching 'Sister Wives.'

...sigh...

Why must getting the right in-laws be so complicated? (I'm safe in this comment because both of Mr. Jenny's parents are ... ummm... dead. Yeah. That sounds a bit harsh and hardly like my usual sensitive self! Soooorrrry!)

Ahem...

This weekend also involved writing graffiti on someone's bedroom wall. And not nice graffiti either. I wrote the words, 'Shame, shame, shame'...in sharpie...on my friends ex-bedroom wall as a message dedicated to her soon to be ex-husband...

and...

I'm all annoyed with myself and feeling guilty now I did it.

I think I would pretty much stink as a vandal.

I guess it's time to let that particular dream career go.

and...

I dunno...

I'm sure this post would be a lot better if this was really Sunday. Because then I wouldn't have written it because Mr. Jenny would have shared his 'Sundays with Steve' and I would have had a whole additional 24 hours to come up with something better.

Sigh...

But since it really is Monday, I will sign off now...

In shame,
Your bad joke, in-law lusting, guilty vandal friend.

  1. Awwwww jenny, I dont think you should feel guilty for your attempts at vandalism. Sounds like the swine deserved it.

Some weekends are like the one you just had. Sounds like my normal weekends!

  2. Aww, Jenny... It's the start of a new week so let bygones be bygones and start the week fresh :) Of course, I think it's cute that you partook in a little vandalism...all for the sake of friendship, right? It would be awesome if you had actually written those words in the colors you used on your blog :)

  3. You would have scared me too. Oh! Your post was the number one viewed post on my blog last week. There were 213 views!

  4. You are too funny.

For what it's worth, I love that you wrote on your friend's soon to be ex-husband's wall. BRILLIANT!

  5. Wonderful read for my Monday morning! I might just try some graffiti on someone's wall today :-)

  6. I could be tempted to write 'TIDY, TIDY, TIDY' on my son's bedroom wall, but he would probably misunderstand-on-purpose and think that I meant it was already tidy, then he'd have even more excuse not to do anything about the piles of junk.

(Besides, eventually, I'd be the one having to redecorate!)

  8. In-law envy....that's a new one to me.
Your venture into vandalism sounds like there is quite a story behind it.

  9. Be careful with those April Fools Day jokes. Someone in this area decided to pull a joke on her daughter and told her she was being held hostage. The daughter didn't get the joke and called the police who surrounded the place.

  10. Not nice to say that to your Daughter:) Hopefully she will forgive you!

I can't believe that you are lusting after your husband's ex-in-laws:) But I am sure they would be happy to have you as their ex-daughter-in-law? hmmm... oh well, moving on!

Now, normally it isn't nice to write on walls with sharpies BUT in this case, it is OK:)

Have a blessed day dear Jenny! HUGS!

  11. I didn't pull any April Fools pranks, but I imagine a similar outcome if I had.

Wouldn't it be great if we could choose our inlaws? I'm not saying I would trade mine (not out loud, anyway), just that the idea has merit.

I think your vandalism was totally justified!

  12. I agree with what Shay said!

    Happy Monday Sweet Jenny!

  13. Jenny it's no wonder you lost a day of the weekend what with your joking, lusting and vandalism! Still sounds like something went right! hugs, Linda

  14. I think you should just adopt them as your in-laws.

my mother and father in law have both traveled to the great beyond. But I know how you feel about saying, their dead. It seems weird saying that.

  16. I don't know, Jenny - there's vandalism and then there's a Public Service Message. I'd say this falls well within the realm of Public Service, or even Health and Safety Warning.
Mozambique - it's good. You should keep it.
It's Monday up here too - too bad!

  17. Hey what's toilet papering a big turd's yard a little bit gonna hurt? Or doing a little mad grafitti on a shmuck's wall? Humm? Toilet paper is biodegradable isn't it? And sharpie ink comes of with nail polish remover doesn't it? So tell me reeeaallly, did it feel good? :)

All that was in the past anyway. It's Monday! Let the new shananagan's begin~Ames

  18. Jenny Jenny Jenny, I am so surprised that you would write with a sharpie on that guy's wall....happily surprised that is! Good for you!
    Happy Monday!

  19. All of my weekends feel as if they've been shorted 24 hours. What's with that anyhow?

At least you tried to prank your DD, but you know sometimes those sorts of things don't go over too well, especially when you're talking about how slow texting can be when delivering the punch line in your case.

Maybe this coming weekend will be more promising for you. =D

    Have a lovely Monday!

  20. You must really be slippin'... you forgot the Saturday Centus thingy, too.

I'm right with you on the in-law choosing! I'll bet my kids wish they could have chosen their parents, too!

  21. awe .... it's hard to be "on" all of the time ... and the joke was pretty good ... stellar actually!

  22. Hey, at least you didn't Mozambique-up your graffiti vandalism.

I believe that speaks to your character.

    =)

  23. HA!!!
    You are my favorite.

And I completely agree on the inlaw thing. I wish you could pick your inlaws the same way you pick your spouse. I almost married someone else just to have his parents as my inlaws. They were that cool.

  24. I think your type of graffiti is just perfect!
I lost my sanity too, pretty sure I left it at a store last week.
I love my in laws...and I have two sets!

  25. Oh Jenny...vandalism doesn't suit you! You are simply too racked with guilt. Let it go...what's done is done and he'll probably think his soon to be ex-wife did it anyway. Love you girl!

  31. I have no freaking idea if it is Monday or not!! All I know is that Sears was supposed to deliver a new washer and dryer to us today and the salesman DROPPED THE BALL! I left a message for him to call me, but of course he never did because he was SCARED!!!!!

  32. First - that darn photo is not showing up so I cannot see your attempt at vandalism!

Now, the April Fools Joke - it is good and bad.

I tried to avoid sister wives and I don;t DVR it or anything but when I do start watching I get sucked in...big time!

  33. It's alright, everyone gets the Monday Blues every now and then. Know what you mean about in-law's but cannot write more because mine are both healthy and possess powerful tai-chi kicks ;-P

  34. From ALL accounts, you're quite the advanced April Fooler.....it's equal parts funny and scary. But I DO like the joke you played on Jessie. I'm a bit twisted too.

And I'm darn proud, DARN PROUD, of you for writing in sharpie on his wall. It was perfect. No expletives...just the right amount of indelible scolding.

  35. Jenny,

I never figured you for a vandal, but I'm really proud of your graffiti! Sometimes a woman just has to take a Mozambique-ing stand. You go, Girl.

    Namaste..........cj
