Here's my contribution for the week.
I hadn’t made my mind up yet if I was going to help her. When I saw ‘Exit 181, 1/2 mile ahead’, I still hadn’t decided.
At the last second I veered off the exit and the brightly lit ‘Burger King’ sign guided me to where she had asked me to meet her.
I pushed through the glass doors finger-painted with grease. She was sitting in the back booth, crying.
“What the hell is wrong with him?” she demanded. I was both happy and horrified to hear my ex-husband’s new wife ask this question.
I settled into the booth for a long and ugly conversation.

I love this! I can just imagine the ugly things about to be said! Great job!
Sounds exactly like my daughter's ex-husband's wife. I hope you gave her an ear full!
A seamless use of the prompt Jenny!~Ames
Of course I know it's just a story...but I would tell it like it really is if that were true and not a story you just made up. :)~Ames
Ha! Good one.
What a great twist at the end!
Wow! Great job, Jenny! Every ex's dream! LOL! I wouldn't mind being a fly on that wall. Excellent!
Wow. Didn't see that one coming at all. Good job.
Now THAT'S a creative take on this Centus. And well done, too!
=)
wow. I really liked this one. And can actually see 2 women doing that exact thing.
Very good Jenny ! This would be my worst nightmare, meeting with an ex-huband's new wife and validating each other in our awful choice of a husband !
Excellent!
I know what's wrong with him and I love him for it. If it was his x on the other end I'd be 6 feet under. Great job! Can't wait for tomorrow's prompt.
Its not something I would want to be asked...Hell don't even want any one to be in her position over my Ex in question....but as you pointed out, the spider weaves a new web and a beautiful sad story like yours unfolds.
I loved it! Very good Jenny.
Very good! It resonates with something going on at the moment with someone I love - we can only be there to listen and support:-/
I have been friends with my first husband's wife for many years. He died last year and she and I spent many hours talking about the past. She even remembers my birthday!!
Great story! I'd love to know what happened next!
Jenny,
This original piece based on the prompt just serves to make me respect your talent more than ever. You put me inside the car with you, and I felt the swerve and could certainly see the Burger King. (Made me a little hungry, I must admit).
The idea of wives being close to ex-wives is, well, alien to me. I would have loved to have that gift.
Namaste..........cj
