Lions and tigers and bugs...oh my!

You know the movie the Wizard of Oz, right?

I encountered something almost as scary as the lions and tigers this morning about 4:00 am.

There I was, sound asleep, dreaming about rainbow colored puppies and sparkling pink unicorns (hmmm....wait...that would be me dreaming vicariously through my four year old Granddaughter, Morgan)...

OK.

There I was, sound asleep dreaming about...

You know what?

It doesn't matter what I was dreaming about.

I turned over in the bed and felt a vicious bite on my ...ummm.... nether region.
I leaped out of bed screaming "There's a bug in the bed! There's a bug in the bed!" and Mr. Jenny very slowly turned the light on and got out of bed to see what was happening. You'd think he I had awaked him from a sound sleep or something...geez....

He put his glasses on and looked around the bed. He squinted. And finally he found something about the size of this

.

in the middle of our great big California King sized bed.

He said, "Geez, talk about over-reacting. The bug is only this big

.

in the middle of our great big California King sized bed.

I put my glasses on.

This is what I saw!

Needless to say, I never went back to sleep.

Just thought I'd share this little story with you.

...

...

Ummm....

You're welcome.

And...ummm...

This bug story made me think of this really cool deal that Penny Pinching Pixie had on her blog yesterday for Restaurant.com gift certificates at incredible savings. Maybe I should send Mr. Jenny this link so he can buy one to take me out to apologize for not being sympathic about the giant, vicious bug.

Go look at it, though. There were some great restaurants in my zip code. Just click here to see the link I'm talking about!

I've had that happen to me and no one got to go back to sleep because I was stripping the sheets to wash them! :)

ROFLMBO! I did the same thing once...woke up screaming there was a big beetle or something in the bed and it turned out to be a ladybug! LOL

This kinda freaked me out. Have you been following the bed bug news? Of course you have. You're evil. Evil I tell ya.

See ya tomorrow.

Oh my, one of biggest fears. Bugs and I, not friends. I am so not one of those scoop them up and place them gently back out in the wilderness kind of gals. I am totally armed with RAID of all kinds and I use it. That said, if I had a bug in my bed...I would have trouble going to bed for a while...yes, I would.

I would have jumped up like that, too. Men are not sympathetic when they are awakened for something that happened to you. Would have been a totally different story if it had happened to him.

This is a riot! I have bug phobias. If they come in my house, they leave in the garbage... dead!

And yes, my screams would also inconvenience my DH! Nowdays, I just grab my pillow and plop down on the couch.

Very funny post!!

I'd have showered, THEN stripped the bed...and stood vigil over the naked mattress until the washer and dryer killed every single critter that was on the linens.

When I was five a bee got into my bed one night and managed to sting me in the eye. Which closed up completely for about a week. When we lived in Belgium I got bitten during the night on the nipple by a spider - the bite got infected and I ended up flat on my back on high dosage antibiotics for a week.

So if I ever suspect any bug is in my bed I will be running for the hills!

I am laughing soooooooo hard! You and Steve should star on a TV series...you could write your own scripts.

Do you know that I call Stu into whatever room a spider is? I know, that's another level of wussification, but still.

That bug is huge. He owes you big time Jenny!

Oh Jenny, you made me giggle AS ALWAYS! I am terrified of bugs, tiny ones too! Bedbugs are on the rise and I am not sure why or even what they look like!

Hope Mr. Jenny was able to get rid of this monster chewing on your hiney:)

HUGS!

Wow, bug bites don't wake me up while I'm sleeping. I once had a spider bite me by my eye AND on my arm, and I didn't know until the next morning when I woke up with my swollen shut and my arm double it's normal size! LOL. Yeah, I'm a bit of a deep sleeper.

BTW, I've already written my blue post. I finally liked what I wrote on a color. Yay!

My what big eyes he has. I don't like bugs at night either. A fly in my room makes me crazy. I hope Mr. Jenny is nicer when awakened than Mr. Sue. Nothing is more important to my man that his precious sleep.

I've used restaurant.com several times with great success. One thing I did notice on our last trip, I saw 2 places with signs posted that they wouldn't honor the coupons. So...people might want to call ahead before buying to make certain the restaurant will take them.

Jenny - that's the same reaction I get when I have Virgil come kill the "huge" spiders I find! I think I'll send him the link too!

Ah! I got bit on the thigh by an ant in my bed this week! Where are all these awful bugs coming from?? Don't they know they belong outside?

Amy said...

Oh My! That is one mean looking bug. I would not be happy to find that in my bed, especially after it get a taste of me. I am very sweet. Ask the mosquitoes. Time to spray!

I'm with June Freaking Cleaver on this one.

The littlest bugs can pack the nastiest bites! Besides....ick! BUGS do NOT get to share my bed! EVER!! The only thing I've got going for me is that I can squash them with my rotund butt cheeks.

P.S. Would you believe I just FINALLY saw the Wizard of Oz for the first time in my 46 years of life last weekend?

I'd have had the same reaction - and stripped the bed and that would have been the end of the night's sleep.

I don't think it would be funny to find that I was in bed with a bug, but this post was so funny. Glad the bug was not one to cause harm. Hugs

Serline said...

LOL... at least you saw/caught the bug. My hubby was "punished" for his nonchalance about the bug I swore lived somewhere in our sofa with multiple nickel-sized red bumps all over his body!

I think there's something about a man's brain that just doesn't see the true size of bugs. I think their minds shrink them down b/c they never seem to realize how truly big and dangerous those things are! stupid men!
