On the cutting edge of eco-friendly protein eating...

That's me.

Okay.

Technically, I'm not on the cutting edge voluntarily.

And when I was on the cutting edge involuntarily my reaction was probably not too pretty.

I've been one of those 'blind without my glasses' kind of people for a long time now. I have learned NOT to get into the bathtub without putting some sort of vision improving apparatus on or in my eyeballs. Now I need to learn to not take a drink out of the water glass on my sink without doing the same thing.

ACCCCKKKK!!!

You guessed it.

The cold water went into my mouth...

AND IT WIGGLED!

And I screamed and dropped the glass and spit and spit and spit into the sink...

And grabbed my glasses...

And there was a bug!!!!

A big bug...

A wiggly bug...

Mr. Jenny came running in to assist me (brave man that he is!) and grabbed the wretched thing and threw it in the toilet.

ACCCKKKK!!!!

ACCCKKKKKKK!!!!!

I can't do it.

I just can't.

I can't be trendy and on the cutting edge of eco-friendly protein eating. I don't care that bugs are supposed to be the new chocolate. I DON'T CARE I DON'T CARE I DON'T CARE...BLEHHHH....BLECCCCHHHH...

Okay.

I'm calm now.

Sort of.

And feeling a little bit bad.

Do you think it was wrong to swap water glasses with Mr. Jenny?

Especially after he saved my life and all.

Ewwww...

Blech...

Shiver...

We always have a glass of water and a flashlight on the night stand every night. Water is for the girls(dogs) and flashlight is for me. I am glad I looked in the glass before giving one of my girls a midnight sip for her dry mouth. There was a big cock roach (we have those down here in Florida) in the glass. Ewwah! Shiver! I thought my house was pretty airtight, but like the hubby says, if they can survive a nuclear blast they can crawl in from outside! Then my daughter has to creep me out my pointing out that my bed is under the a/c vent. She reminded me that the average person unknownly eats spiders in their sleep. I don't like spiders. I think I'm feeling a little bile working it's way up my throat just thinking about it too! Oh thank you Jenny for the visuals. :(~Ames

Jenny, I can't believe you're able to actually write about this. I need bleach for my eyes, my tongue, and my throat. I hope Mr. Jenny held you for a good long time.

I am blind as a bat, and I once drank some chocolate milk and ended up with a dead fly in my mouth. It was disgusting because it felt like a piece of paper, but hen I went to grab it out of my mouth and it was a water-logged fly.

Sick, sick, sick.

Creepy crawly things in the water? Shivers and gag attack happening here...I deal with gawdawful earwigs daily and can not wait for cold weather to return and kill the stinking things! Careful where you put your lips now.....

Yuck!
I guess you don't want me to tell you the story I heard on CBC yesterday - about the person swimming in Australia. A beetle got into her nose and lodged in her sinus cavity and it was 72 hours before it was removed. Big YUCK!

LMAO! I do love to watch a bug in their habitat... THEIRIS, not mine. Now I can intrude in theirs but they shouldn't intrude in mine & when the 2 intercede... well then one of us best just make like a ghost so the other doesn't know is what say, or else let's just not touch cause there is a personal bubble for a reason so I'll stay in mine if they stay in theirs:-)

Yes one must be careful with little munchkins running around, that goes for your coffee cup as well that you leave for just a second to be right back...oops you just never know what might be floating, or sinking a you in you know where.....yes sometimes drinking can be dangerous....but later we laugh and laugh...well usually we do...unless we swallow it...and especially if we really don't know WHAT it was we swallowed! Oops!

OMG....all I can say is EWWWWWW!!! Switching glasses is the least you can do, I would turn it upside down, so the wretched things can't get in at all! And in case it came out of the tap....water only from the fridge!! Hope you can get that out of your mind Jenny!

You just stirred up a memory from my childhood, to which I will say... never blow bubbles on a motorcycle. You never know what might stick in them!

I did the same things a few weeks ago...an earwig. Thought I'd have a heart attack! No Mr. Walton around to rescue me, but I tell you that bug didn't suffer much, his death was so quick!!!!
I think I need to brush my teeth now...

Oh gosh!!! I'm cringing and feeling like spitting right now. Yikes!!!! Yes, please put on your glasses before taking a drink from here on out. Holy cow!

When I used to cycle a lot, I was always having to spit out flies. You just can't cycle with a tightly closed mouth (cus you can't breathe hard enough - and I used to puff and pant a bit), but flies aren't smart enough to get out of the way, so before you know it...

Blessings & Aloha!

Oh, Jenny! We are soul sisters for sure. I was so grossed out by your post that I was unable to comment right away. Then, this morning when I was having coffee on the deck before it got to hot for my dogs to be out, I took a slug of coffee. You guessed it - not a roach, but I almost swallowed one of those B-52 flies that are greenish and buzz like a skill saw. I spit coffee all over the place. (Thank goodness I have a keyboard condom for my laptop). I feel your pain, Honey, I really do.

Namaste..........cj

Oh my gosh Jenny...that is crazy scary and nightmarish. :) Glad you survived. I often worry about bugs getting into my mouth...while I am sleeping. (mouth breather here!)

PERMANENT POSIES said...

Well....we have to draw the line somewhere....and I draw it right there. Coincidentally, last night my daughter, her husband and my youngest granddaughter came to spend the night. She put my gkid on the couch to change her diapers and a roach crawled over her. Well....that was just awesome. Nothing quite so embarrassing! However, it was not nearly as bad as my daughter's reaction....which was to abandon her child to the roach and jump up to run away....while the precious baby dangled precariously over the edge of the sofa....with said roach crawling on her. I had to rush in and grab the child from her near tumble while hubby squashed the pesky little bug.....all the while mom was still yukking and screaming...ROACH!!!! Glad it wasn't a snake or something. She had recently thought about getting her handgun license but has decided that she would probably just abandon the child in the face of an adversary and run into the corner screaming.....KIDNAPPER.....so what is the point...haha
