Breaking Financial News

The Postmaster General announced today that the Post Office is officially financially viable for another year thanks to one person.

Yes, that person is me.

I have single-handedly cured the financial woes of the US Post office today by mailing about 47,123,605 boxes and cards. Don't roll your eyes.

Please.

It's true. Would the USPS have released that official picture above if it wasn't?

OK, well maybe it's only darned close to true.

Judging by my thumb being permanently locked in the rolling packing tape position AND my mouth hermetically sealed shut from licking and sealing so darned many envelopes.

And yes, you can say it out loud.

My husband is doing the dance of joy for a night of silence.

But the bad news is...

I can still type with my toes!

Sigh.

well, I will never get this public praise, don't do much snail mail business with the post office anymore! good job, and now, you have put the pressure on me to get my cards out! Oh, yes, I say that every year, and still don't get them out, maybe this will be the year!

i am so bad...i don't do christmas cards. in fact, i don't even "pretend" to do christmas cards anymore. i used to go through the motions and actually buy them, write in them, and address the envelope...but never mail them.

but...you reminded me that i need to go to the PO tomorrow and mail my gifts to nieces and nephews. ;)

I love sending Christmas cards - it just wouldn't be the holidays without them.

You crack me up every day! Thank you for that.

Perhaps next the surgeon general will call what ails you and so many others this time of year, "Jenny Matlock Syndrome" and declare all the Christmas hubbub hazardous to our health!

I can attest to Jen's statement. I have personally received no less than 30 cards from her this year. I am not kidding. I LOVE IT.

Hi! I just wanted to clarify something. I'm not into conspicious consumerism, although it sure does sound like it. I have a lovely, lovely group of friends call the Chickberries and each month we participate in something we call our prayer and support list. It involves sending lots of cards with happy wishes (Terri that posted has been in a battle against breast cancer) At Christmas this all ramps us and many of the chicks send things themselves but many send gift cards and things and I pack them all up and send them out to people across the US. The card thing is my personal passion. The box thing is only twice a year! AND I needed to send out about 10 boxes of lemons! I just felt bad that some of you might have interpretted this post as something more then humor. Thanks! Jenny!
