"It's not a gorge, it's a canyon," he replied.
On Friday the photographer e-mailed me when she got the package and told me the sign was, "Gorge!"
"Look! Look! It's a gorge Gorge!" I shouted again, "Oh wait! No! It's my sign that's gorge!"
I think I was getting on Mr. Jenny's nerves.
"It's not a gorge, it's a canyon," he stated again.
"But! Listen! Wait! The photographer said the sign was GORGE! GORGE! ISN'T THAT RIDICULOUSLY COOL?"
"It is RIDICULOUSLY cool and so was your sign," Mr. Jenny said drily. "But it's still a canyon." ...
... Sigh.
But I'm still grinning over the whole photo shoot thing!
Even if the darned thing WAS a canyon!

It looks like a pretty place to visit no matter what it is called.
Jenny, I googled and here is the official scoop, so you can tell Mr. Jenny:
"Gorge and canyon are interchangeable. In some countries, “gorge” is used for “canyon” and vice versa. The word “canyon” is widely used in the United States, and the term “gorge” is widely used in Europe."
Oh I have sweet memories of a visit to Sedona:) Next time I come there, I wanna meet Ms. Jenny Matlock and Mr. Jenny too! Have a blessed day, LOVE the picture! HUGS!
Congrats on your GORGE sign being in a photo shoot! Neat!!!
XO,
Sheila
Could it also be that your sign was "gorgeous?" Just thinkin'... I hope to get to Sedona some day. It sounds so wonderful! Have a great week!
Oh why didn't you show the painting, too? I wanna' see it, I wanna' see it. Hey, let Sandy and I know when and where for Thursday.
Love ya'
Meri
Congrats on your sign!! And now I know canyon & gorge are one in the same. We recently saw Hurricane Gorge in Alaska & Whirlpool Canyon in Northern British Columbia - both looked very, very beautiful but dangerous.
Have only been to Sedona once but would love to go back - a spectacular area - gorges an all!!
Bet your sign was GORGE-ous!
Whatever it is, it is absolutely breathtaking!
Tell Mr Jenny that GORGE is a much more funner word then canyon!! Congrats on your sign being famous now!
hugs, Linda
I live on a "gorge" and it is just a waterway from the sea-inland...so I guess it has many meanings!
Look, it's a bird, it's a plane,, it's a Gorge!!
Haha... love it!
Thanks Jenny for your visit to my blog
and all your sweet comments.. and the
jammies, I did fina a 'family' pattern
and it came with all sizes..
After searching years ago for jammies
for a family, the cost was awful.. so
I've been making them for several
years.. Tee's are a better choice (joanns) for
the tops also...
Happy Holidays
Sandy
Well, I got a little lost on all the Gorge talk...but, I am so excited for you that your sign business is taking off! Woo Hoo! I'd be excited too!
Ah, I still believe our own little cute names and thoughts of things are way cooler than when the men bring out the real deals from their man brains...cuz we all know you can't always rely on what they know! Hahahahahahaha! :)
I think the canyon is Gorge-ous :)
how fabulous that your sign was in a photo shoot! I hope i get a chance to see it!
My guess is GORGEous, too.
Rita McGregor of Soul Comfort Corner sent me. If she says I should do something, then I do it. I'll have to tell my daughter The Hurricane when she arrives for Christmas that she's gorge. Because she is. I'm so pleased that someone appreciated your work because I have absolutely no doubt that it really is gorge.
Love,
Janie L. Junebug

I'm with you!
Sedona is one of my favorite places in the continental United States. I first discovered it around 1972 or 3, way before all the money poured in. Still love it!
Love a good play on words...
Jenny! Congrats on the commercial work. Oh, the places you will go, my friend!
Men. It's a gorgeous gorge!
Congrats on getting commercial attention.
BTW, what's in a name anyway, eh? Maybe it was calle Gorge Canyon. He he.
I hope the photo shoot went well and all turned out Gorge! :)
To be honest, I do not know the difference. Congrats! :)
Everything you do is GORGE....just like you gorgeous!
XO
