End of a year...

And to be honest...

It's been a doozy.

I keep reminding myself that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger but some days that philosophy just seems like ...

...well...

a big pile of hooey.

Ha.

But we survive.

And we work very hard to bloom in the soil we've been given.

We are ending the year at our snowy new home with the first snow shovel either of us has owned in 30 years...

 ...and we are feeling blessed.

And instead of all the philosophies about making lemons into lemonade I've been pondering a different quote on this last day of 2014.

Whatever is true; whatever is honorable; whatever is just; whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable; if there is any excellence; if there is anything worthy of praise; think about these things.    Phil. 4:8

Mr. Jenny and I wish you all a happy, cozy and safe year end.

We have snow - lots and lots of snow - you aren't anywhere near the Utah mountains are you? I'd love to be your neighbor...

I'm betting 2015 is a better year for both of us sweetie. I'll think about you and send good mojo when I toast in the new year. BTW, that is a darling picture of you and Mr. Jenny, wherever you are (Utah?)

Jenny,

New Year's Wish for you is to have a wonderful 2015! May you be blessed beyond measure. You deserve it. :-)

Yours is the perfect scripture on which to ponder. I cannot find your phone number, but if I do, I am going to try and call you. I miss you and just want to hear your sweet voice, even if for a few minutes.

In posting today, my 300th post and sixth year in blogging, I was thinking how much has happened this year which I didn't go into because it has been that type of year for me, too. Actually two years. But we stay focused on the positive and the possibilities. Mr. Magpie is out shopping while I am sitting here blogging a little. We had a quiet New Years (except for the revelers that were out late making noise), but even that didn't bother us for long. I did have a strange dream afterwards that we had moved to China and that my cousin's wife and I were producing a movie, but other than that, I slept okay. Which is good. It is funny that you should mention that scripture because it is one on which I stood and continue to stand (even though I have fallen twice more on my knee that was injured LAST year), particularly these last few months. It is important to do just that. To stay your mind on those things.

My prayer is to remain upright and to land on my knees only in prayer! That for starters! ;-)

All my love,

Sheila :-)

Hi Jenny ~~ Life gets tough doesn't it? Seems like the older we get the harder it is to scramble to safety. (Mrs. Jim fell crawling through a fence and broke her hip. Younger days she could scramble to her feet and not hit the pavement.)

If you now live close to Nebraska or New Hampshire I have snow shovels I left at each place you could have. Both times I moved to Texas.

Best wishes, especially Happy New Year !!

We should all, every one of us, read Phil 4:8 at the start of every day. Thoughtfully.
Hoping 2015 proves to be a good year for you and Mr. Jenny!

What a year you've had, Jenny. I have missed Alphabe-Thursday, and hope to start again next week. You are - have been for years - an inspiration to me. Wishing you and Mr Jenny and all your family a blessed 2015.

Hey there sweet Jenny! Where are you living now? I am loving your quote from the Bible, I hear it monthly with a women's group I belong to! It gives me goosebumps to hear that you love it too!

I'm not a blogger, but I've been following your blog for a few years and have laughed and cried. I have a much-loved niece who lives abroad and is SORELY missed inbetween rare visits, so when the grandlittles moved away, I ached for you and prayed. I love that verse. Definitely one to cling to. Wishing you blessings this year.

I'm sorry I missed school this week. Real life got in the way. I sure hope 2015 will be a whole lot better than 2014 for you! Hope you had a nice visit with your Irish family. Did you move again? I didn't think it snowed where you lived in Arizona. Betty

Jenny, this year HAS to be better for you! I just HAS to I say.
So, you moved? Did I miss something? Did you leave my favorite state of AZ? I'm guessing you're not in Florida. :)
I'm loving your motto for this year. Sending you prayers, love and all that jazz.
Love,
Suz
