Hey, do you want to congratulate me on my new book?

Well, thank you. Thank you very much.

Technically...

Officially...

I haven't quite written it yet...but I plan to. Later today in fact.

I have the cover almost designed...still needs a little tweaking but what do you think of the rough idea? I actually started this book 29 years ago today. But then it was titled "Surviving your Baby Turning One!" which I thought was kind of emotional.

The turning one book was going to be preceded by the first in the series which was going to be entitled "Surviving Childbirth with your Vocal Cords Intact"...but I never quite got that one finished either.

But every year, dang it, I tell myself "this is a wonderful daughter and I've had such a great time with her and she is my sunshine, my only sunshine (hmmm....sorry for that odd musical interlude but it's just that kind of day) and every year I still get all weepy and sentimental.

But by golly, this just has to stop.

And it will.

As soon as I write this book.

And I think this is going to be the picture I am going to put on the first page.....which shows my daughter on her first birthday. Thirty years ago today.

Darn.

Got something in my eye again.

And I must go remove it so I can start writing my book.

Sigh...

PS! Happy 30th Birthday Jessie!

And Jenny, you know what my next line is...and do it with all you got in ya..

Love the book too, but like the first one you started, the series will turn into the 'Turning #40' before you know it!

What gets me is how fast it went. And at the time, I thought it would never get over with. Not that it ever does, but you know what I mean. It seems like a dream that my kids were little once.

How can they be getting so old when we aren't?
