...is indeed..
...not always what you get.
A few days ago Mr. Jenny and I returned home from yet another frustrating and painful day of medical testing.
I was exhausted.
He was exhausted.
"I'm going to check my office," he informed me and wandered off that direction.
"I'm going to check the phone for Doctor call backs," I informed him and wandered off that direction. I went to the phone, pulled my reading glasses off the top of my head...and then something really, really terrible happened.
A few seconds later I stood in his office doorway, shaking and crying like a crazy (or would that be crazier?) woman.
He jumped up from his office chair.
"What is it!??? Was there a message!???"
I just kept crying.
He went and got me water.
Finally I was able to gasp out, "I don't think I can take much more of this! You're not going to believe it but NOW something is wrong with my vision, too!"
I choked down more water and kept crying.
"Okay. Slow down. We'll call the doctor. Tell me what happened."
I shuddered. He looked scared to death.
We are both seriously exhausted from all this.
Finally, in a shaky voice, I said, "Okay. I went to pick up the messages and all the sudden my vision went dark."
He was watching me quite intently.
He very kindly put his hands gently on my forearms.
And then Mr. Jenny smiled at me.
SMILED!
SERIOUSLY!!!!!
That really, really ticked me off.
"You think this is funny?" I huffed.
"Kind of," he said as he lifted my reading glasses off my face.
He showed me my glasses.
"You left your sunglasses on top of your head instead of your regular reading glasses. Your vision is fine."
Hmmm.
Hmmm.
Awkward.
"Is your vision dark now?" he asked me patiently.
Hmmm.
Hmmm.
Awkward.
Thank Heavens for sweet husbands who have the intelligence to recognize that sunglasses make vision go dark.
We are still cracking up over my mistake.
And yesterday Mr. Jenny asked if I thought I should mention the dark vision to the latest specialist.
I just gave him the stink-eye which he could see VERY clearly because it was NOT concealed under my sunglasses.
Sigh.
PS. Bless you all for your cards and your lovely thoughts and e-mails. We both so appreciate them. It helps. We're hoping for some answers this week. I know a lot of icky things I DON"T have now. Just waiting to see what is wrong. Other than the dark vision that is.
Blush.

Thank God that's all it was!!!
I'm having labs done tomorrow. Can't wait. NOT. Saw a different doctor today and gave him a piece of my mind right up front. I think he was shocked. Before I die, I hope to be able to say, "I told you so!" Now, if they just won't kill me before I get to do that!
Oh Jenny, keep laughing it really is the best medicine. Praying you get some answers soon and start the road to better health!
hugs, Linda
Oh girl, you are too funny! I can always count on you to make me laugh in ALL situations:) Hope you all get some answers and treatment to help! Praying for you sweet Jenny!
God bless you and your sense of humor. I pray for you all the time.

Janie
The good news is that at least one problem had an easy answer, thanks to Dr. Mr. Jenny. I hope your other doctors have some answers for you soon. You are in my thoughts.
Oh thank goodness that was all it was!
Take care my friend.
Hope you get your info soon
M : )
I too Jenny am going through this yet again. I hope and I pray that you will have answers very soon .I know you can deal with anything once you know what you're dealing with....even dark vision. :-).
I'm just glad that in spite of everything you can still laugh. What is it they say? Laughter is the best medicine. In addition to feeling crappy you've been under enormous stress. Waiting for test results stinks. It's the fear of the unknown that can drive you crazy. I hope you have some answers soon.
Oh Good Grief, my Jenny Friend!!! Love the story, but I hate it that you're having to go thru testing. Ugh! I hope they figure you out soon, and most of all, I pray that you will be okay ♥ Sending many many hugs and good healing thoughts your way!! ♥ Will be thinking of you... Tammy
So they have not come up with an answer for you yet? So sorry. I hope they can tell you something soon. Chronic pain is bad enough without knowing why you have it. I can empathize. At least we know your eyes are okay--LOL! ;) *love and hugs*
Wishing you answers and good health.

Well, you can cross *bad eyes* off the list at least.
I hate that you are going through so much. Prayers that you are being supported by GOOD and caring Dr's that will get you fixed up real soon.
XOXOXO
That was a terrifying moment for you and I can see how you could go to pieces. Thank goodness it was the sunglass syndrome! Prayers for good health for you this Easter season.
It's good to know there are lots of icky things you don't have. Thanks for sharing your chuckle with us.
Happy birthday Jenny, wishing you all the best with the results. It is hard work ticking off the list of big things so they can narrow down the options. And thank goodness your husband is a smart cookie, at least you know what the darkness was :)
hahaha
Sounds like something I would do.
=)
PS. Praying for a good diagnosis and the right treatment. Hugs to you, my friend.
Jenny....I think of you so often and was at Meri's yesterday. She always is thinking of you and hoping to help in any way she can....that makes two of us my friend!
