She brought a cake.
She is 11 years old and she brought a cake to Easter.
Without being asked.
When I asked her why she said, "You always make all the food, Grandma, so I thought I'd bring a cake."
It was blue.
With vanilla icing.
Eleven years old and she brought a cake.
I'm still smiling.

Ow, how cute! And the cake is so bright blue:):) In response that "every flower is a gift" on my blog inspired you to make a sign - Like to see it (post it) when it's done!
That had to be so fun to eat!! That color in the cupcake makes me want to smile. How the heck did she get it so dark blue? That would make me smile all week long!!
What a thoughtful grand you have!
That was very thoughtful of your granddaughter to think of you with such a pretty blue cake, Jenny! Hope you had a very happy Easter!
The blue and white are so Easter-y. That cake is extra sweet because of the love that was stirred in at the last minute.
Love,
Janie
C'mon show us your bright blue tongue as well!!!! Too cute :)

Wow, such a sweet slice of life! Unexpected gifts, no matter how small or large, make the heart so much warmer. You definitely know how appreciated you are!
Wow, Jenny!! That has to make your feel good all over. Little kids who are loved seem to know how to return the love given them by three times to you. I like the blue, clever.
..
