Do you want the good news first...

...or the bad news?

...

...

Waiting.

Waiting.

Aren't you going to pick?

Okay, fine.

I'll pick for you.

Bad news it is.

Ummm...

Did you know that Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK?!?

I'm not kidding.

Really.

Look at your calendar. Next Thursday is Thanksgiving!!!!

How did that happen.

Geez.

We always have it here so let me say I was a teensy/weensy bit shocked when I discovered this disturbing news.

Are you okay?

...

Are you sure?

...

Okay.

Now for the good news.

Do you know that there are actually 40 days until Christmas!

Forty!!!!

Isn't that cool?

Isn't that...

Wait.

Hey.

Hold on a second here.

Let me count something...

ACCCCKKKK!!!!!

This isn't good news.

This is bad news.

40 days!

And the only Christmas shopping I have done is candy for stockings that I bought on sale after Halloween.

...

...

Okay.

I'm officially depressed now.

This whole bad news, good news thing didn't work out exactly as I had planned.

But I hope you enjoyed it anyway.

Sigh...

PS. COME BACK TOMORROW FOR THE START OF AN EXCITING GIVEAWAY!

Remember how far away it seemed on Halloween? Oh, yeah, I have lots of time. SO I procrastinated and here I am with a list of to-dos and only a little over a week to get them finished. Sigh...

I think the fact that the holidays are upon is exciting and good news.. however.. it means we have little time to do lots of work and spend lots of money.. but its still fun.. right? just stressful.. yes..very stressful...
and before we know it it will behind us and we'll be facing months of cold blustery wintery dreariness.. NOw for me, thats the bad news! but for you in arizona.. its probably the best weather time of the year! lol!
have a great day jenny

Horrible. I've only got about one eighth of my Christmas shopping done. And right now I'm not even sure which house we're having Christmas in!

Good Morning Jenny Sweetie...
Well now that you have made my morning, let me get started and see what other good news... bad news... there is out there just waiting for me.

Hope you have a blessed day sweetie. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

You are too funny, Jenny :) Thank goodness Thanksgiving doesn't exist in Japan or else I'd be worrying over it too. Well, I guess I wouldn't really be worried since none of our family lives in Japan....which makes it a little depressing now that I think about how we're not home to celebrate Thanksgiving with everyone....

BUT we WILL be home for Christmas! Yay! And the 40 days till Christmas cannot come any faster for me :)

The good news for us is that we (sensibly) had Thanksgiving a month ago. The bad news is that I am in the same Christmas-readiness situation as you. Forty days! The mailing! The decorating! If I could find a bucket of sand I'd stick my head into it.

What?? Oh no, I didn't even realize it. Yikes.

All I can say is the solution is easy: get on the computer and order everything you need (T-day dinner, Christmas gifts, etc.!). Easy-Peasy! Done!

Yeah, I work for an internet company that develops e-commerce software.

No conflict of interest here! LOL

Thanks a lot! I knew Thanksgiving was next week and I've been trying not to think too much about it, but I didn't realize Christmas was only 40 days away. It's catching...now I'm depressed too!

Oh, Miss Jenny! Not to worry. You know everything will be OK. Aren't the holidays supposed to be about happiness and family and friends? NOT stress! I'm takin it calm and easy this year..as I usually do. And guess what?? You think next Thursday is coming up fast?? We're having our family Thanksgiving THIS Saturday! :)

One great thing (and there are many) about being Canadian is having Thanksgiving in October, leaving us with weeks and weeks before Christmas, during which time we blithely ignore the calendar until someone reminds us that ACK there are only 40 days until Christmas! So why am I reading blogs when there is shopping, cooking, baking, sewing, crafting, mailing, thinking to be done.

I think I'll have another cup of tea.

Haha. I had a principal of our high school who used to say every month....it's so many days till christmas, have you bought your mother's christmas present yet! I have half of my christmas stuff done and in the mail, thankfully, but now I have no ideas for the other half and time it seems is running out...ugh!

Thanks for the bad news, bad news.

;)

PS. Actually, the Thanksgiving isn't so bad because we are going to my son and daughter-in-law's house. I don't have to cook!

PS. But I have next to nothing done for Christmas. And panic is already settling in... ;)

40 days til Christmas is very bad news because I have done absolutely nothing towards it!

2 days til Alphabe-Thursday letter C is even worse news because I've done absolutely nothing about that either!!!

Yeow, Jenny, thanks... here I was just cruising along UNTIL I read this post ! Luckily, I will not panic, I'll just freak out a bit and start cruising again and hope it will all work out !!! ( it usually does anyway )

Oh drats! Next week huh? ..oh poo!

Well I am glad I thought about picking up a ham and a turkey last month. I guess I'm going to have to drag one or the other or both out of the freezer from the garage and actually cook them huh.

Drats!

Are there restaurants open on Thanksgiving day? Hummmm?

Do you know if they deliver? Hummmm?

I wonder if all the airlines have blacked out there pre-Thanksgiving dates so I can't go eat Thanksgiving dinner at someone elses house for a change. Hummmm

Oh poo. Thanks for reminding me. :( ~Ames

P.S. I'm done with Christmas. Well all except for the decorating part. Now if I could just get someone else to do that for me.Bah humbug.

Have most everything needed for Thanksgiving Dinner but so not ready to even think about Christmas...

I like your take on the good news/bad news thing though...just wish it was 140 days instead of 40.

I'm actually going to my sister's for Thanksgiving. The past few years it has just been 3 of us and other than last year...we bought our Thanksgiving dinner. It just seemed like too much work for just 3. So...I'm actually excited about Thanksgiving this year and all I have to do is cook 3 or 4 things! As for Christmas...I've started shopping. I love to shop online. I just sit here and the cute little brown truck brings presents. I still have quite a bit to go...but sadly, our list is shorter this year and the while it may be easier to shop, it isn't nearly as fun.
