Some disturbing news about socks...

I cleaned out my sock drawer over the weekend.

Yeah.

I am totally into the high life here.

Big time.

I found:

9 black socks, six had holes in the heels or toes.

2 pairs of almost new striped socks that are itchy inside.

11 white socks...and I use the term 'white' very loosely.

1 pair of Ohio State socks with holes in the toe AND the heel. I've been holding onto them for about 15 years now for 'sentimental' reasons.

1 pair of Boise State socks because Mr. Jenny feels that if you're going to wear football socks they should be from BSU!

3 brown socks.

7 pairs of assorted holiday socks...who doesn't need socks with spiders, reindeers and/or Easter bunnies on them.

2 pairs of panty hose stuffed wayyyyy in the back all mangled and inside out. It appears the last attempt at trying them on went slightly awry.

1 belt. I have no idea whose belt this is. I haven't had a waist since 1981.

3 pennies.

1 bobby pin.

and a book of matches...

...perhaps so if I lose electricity I can still locate 1 of the 9 black socks without a hole in them.

The disturbing news is that...

Yeah.

I'm really truly writing about it.

And I'm not even a tiny bit sorry.

So there.

...

...

Sigh...

My curiosity is piqued. What the heck did you do with them? Where's the rest of the story? I just know I'm going to lose sleep over this.

Dang, Matlock! If I didn't know any better I'd think it was the sock drawer of a teenager....or a husband.

I bet you feel fabulous each time you go through a drawer or closet.

The Boy just grabs two socks - hey, it's a pair!

Seems that that method of sock wearing is popular amongst the lazy adolescent community.

I rarely match up pairs anymore.

After that there is no way I am going anywhere near my sock drawer!!!!!

Sounds like my sock drawer!
I fear cleaning it out because I'll have no socks. :-)

You have a lot of socks sweet Jenny. Good job getting them sorted. Hugs

Your courage is admirable Jenny. I am happy that it is fall/winter here and wearing pants is the thing--no one can tell if I am wering matching socks or not.

You still have panty hose? Wow! I'm impressed.

I don't have many issues with socks... just being Me and the Mister:) BUT, my daughter has socks all over the place at her house! Sometimes she just buys ALL new ones to keep from sorting them and looking for missing ones:) Shhhhh, don't tell her I told you that! Have a blessed day my friend, HUGS!

I have a huge box filled with mismatched socks. It takes up a whole cupboard shelf (a deep cupboard, I might add). Some of the socks have been in said box for years.

I have no excuse or explanation to offer.

I'm inspired to do the same.

Fun post.

My husband is missing a white athletic sock. I was hoping you would find it.

Hubs is not allowed to wash my clothes, I have all my sock mates. He on the other hand is missing a few. I think the dryer eats them.

Me, My daughter and all my sisters have a pact. When we die the first thing to do (even before calling the mortuary) is to throw away or better yet burn all of the unmentionables. That way my evil sister-in-laws won't run mine up a flag pole.

You know, one sock makes a great duster or window wash rag. Or tie one in a knot and let the dog play with it. Hugs~Ames

haha. Maybe you could line up the odd socks out and make for a wild party time. You would be right in style. different socks on each of your feet is the in thing. What? You didn't know it. You best stick with me sister.

The dreaded sock drawer. I'm a sock person and have several sock drawers, all in deplorable shape, much like the socks that reside in them. I can't think about it right now, there are other, more pressing issues... like dreading Christmas!

LOL...love it !

My sock drawer is in pretty good shape...just cleaned it recently but my Hubs needs help with his. He took the drawer out and put it on the bed the other day, found the socks he was looking for and then looked at me and I said, "Don't look at me, it's your drawer !!!" He just sighed and put it back in the dresser...no surprise !

Well, I cleaned out my makeup drawer and found 9 tubes of mascara, none of which make my eyelashes look even remotely like the models on T.V. At least you can do some sort of craft project with those socks!!

Can you come help my husband clean out his sock drawer? :)

Actually, it's fairly neat. It's just that he has about 60 pairs of socks...maybe more.

Can someone tell my why.

He needs to be assured that it's okay to let some of them go. :)

I've had socks without mates for years. I keep them in a show box thinking that someday the other one would show up. I did discover some after my daughter moved out- in the trash bag she left! MY socks! Maybe you need a gift card to your favorite hosiery store for Christmas.

Are you sure that wasn't my sock drawer you were going through? ;)

Way too many of us can relate, I'm sure! I, for one, am really sick of those socks that sprout holes. What's with that?!

If you find a taupe sock with brown polka dots it's mine. Its mate is in my sock drawer.

I have a drawer stuffed full of socks, but I only ever use the top layer. I really should stir them up and see what's hidden down in the depths!

I finally learned that if a sock has a hole in it, I take it off and pitch it. Right then. Much easier than having to have a sock drawer "day"!

My sock drawer isn't much better!
