"Our fingers entwined like ribbons of light…la-la…came through a doorway somewhere in the night…”
“Well girl. Why don’t you give me
some song lyrics then?”
“Okay, fine.”
I thought for a moment and started singing, “la-la-la …ummm…I can see her lyin' back in her SATIN
dress…In a room where ya do what ya don't confess…Sundown ya better take care…
If I find you been creepin' 'round my back stairs.”
Gordon just laughed. "Like I'd ever sing THAT!!!!"

Oh, how I loved Gordon Lightfoot, Jenny. My favorite? "If you could read my mind love, what a tale my thoughts could tell. Just like an old time movie 'bout a ghost from a wishing well...." Yep, I loved HIM, and "Sundown" was another.
XO,
Sheila
Still have Gord's Gold on vinyl.
Gordon Lightfoot. There's someone who makes my heart go thump thump boom. Love his songs.
Wow, Nick, vinyl. How cool is that?!
Wow, Flash from the past! I do love some Gordon Lightfoot!! Might have to go find some youtube videos!
hugs, Linda
Jenny, did I ever tell you Gord and I are old friends? I don't see him any more because my ex husband is his producer and it's a bit awkward. His songs are so familiar that one day, when he was just sitting around singing in the next room, I thought the radio was on. Bet I could finish that story!
Well, Jenny, when you see my Alphabe-Thursday opener you'll smile, because we are sooooo on the same wavelength. Too weird!!
That made me laugh.
Gordon Lightfoot was one of my late uncle's favorite musicians.
His song about the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald always brings tears to my eyes.
Right, don't sing those word, Gordo and don't get a lotta fans!
Oh, I remember Sundown, you'd better take care if I find you've been creepin' down the back stairs. My favorite is If you could read my mind, love, what a tale my thoughts could tell. That song is pure poetry and I loved his voice.
Love,
Janie
