You know how sometimes song lyrics...

...get stuck in your brain...

and you are compelled to sing them over and over and over and over and over (teehee!) again...

...to the irritation and dismay of others...

(in my case Mr. Jenny's)

...and you realize that the song lyrics you are singing have absolutely nothing to do with what is going on in your life but you can't stop, regardless.

Yeah.

Me, too.

I get all that.

Because I have been singing Neil Diamond's "Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show"...

Over and over.

"Pack up the babies,
and grab the old ladies...
'cause everyone knows
brother Love's show
Hallelujah!"

(if you don't know this song you can click on the title above for a link!)

Anyway.

I think I've been singing this 'cuz we are getting for a little road trip!

We're off to see our Grandson, Quinn who celebrated his first birthday a few weeks ago.

I've been painting all kinds of stuff to take up in the truck!

Signs.

A little picnic table.

A rocking chair!

A growth chart!

For some reason our laden down pick-up truck is making me think of this song.

Although it's not August.

And I don't even know who Brother Love is.

Hot August night and the leaves hangin' down
And the grass on the ground smellin' - sweet
Move up the road to the outside o' town
And the sound o' that good gospel beat
Sits a ragged tent, where there ain't no trees
And that gospel group, tellin' you and me

It's Love, Brother Love
Say Brother Love's Travellin' Salvation Show
Pack up the babies and grab the old ladies
And everyone goes, 'cause everyone knows, Brother Love's show

I love road trips, man!

I just hope I can get this song out of my head before my husband leaves me at a rest stop somewhere between Arizona and Idaho!

Hallelujah, baby!

We're rolling north!

I hope you and Brother Love have a great Memorial Day weekend!

What wonderful treasures! You did a wonderful job on them. The travel songs are new to me, but I really like them.

Neil Diamond is my secret love, and Brother Love is a favorite song! Did you know that it was inspired by a tent revival that he attended in Mississippi?
Have a wonderful and safe trip -- love that cute picnic table!
Hey, with all that piled up in the truck maybe you should sit in the rocking chair and sing the Beverly Hillbillies song... just sayin'

Darling little boy and presents. I think I'll make a table like that for Ezra and Annie but with my own design. They need one and Ezra has a birthday coming up. Have a great road trip and sing your heart out if it makes you happy! xo Jenny

That picnic table would sure look nice on my deck. Just sayin. I get those dang songs going all the time too. Especially when the weatherman says its going to be sunshiny tomorrow. Every time I start singing sunshine go away today. I know weird

He's adorable, and will love seeing you more than anything! I love the gifts you've been working on!

I get songs stuck in my head all the time. Often they inspire me to write about an experience! LOVE anything by Neil Diamond!

Safe travels!

I hate getting one stuck. Fortunately for those around me, I don't sing them out loud.

It cracked me up! We used the song in church on Sunday. We have a different kind of church.
Our message was about Praise and Worship. My Cowboy found the coolest video of the song. I send the link to you. I am a Neil Diamond fan so I enjoyed it. Our teenage boys just kinda weren't too sure. But now they are calling My Cowboy. Brother Love. LOL.
It is a great song and kind of hard to get out of your head! Enjoy your trip.
I love the little blue table.
It's A day isn't it? I didn't even look at the ABC post. I got caught up in Brother Love.

Why does that happen?! lol

I get them stuck in my head too, and my kids say, "Oh no!" Especially, because most of the time I don't get the lyrics right.

But...singing is good. When you're singing, you're feeling good.

Great artwork on the table and other things! I know you'll have a wonderful time visiting your grandson and his family.

The Grandkidlet is adorable.

Now I'm inspired to paint something as long as it's not the cat.

I keep singing the Marine hymn..."From the hall of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli". I'm not sure why, maybe it's because I love the uniform or because it's Memorial Day weekend coming up...I don't know. But, I'm driving my family crazy.

Hugs and a joyous memorial cay to all. Go hug a marine.

What a great song! Here I am, back in the south, where I went to many of a revival with my grandmother when I was a little girl. Things have changed for me now--you'll see just how much when you ready my "A" offering--but I do love Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show (tapping my foot and humming.) Have fun on your road trip. Give Quinn a good squeeze, then come back home and start painting more wonderful objects d'art!!

xoxo

Love the picnic table you're taking as well as the rest of the treasures. Have a lovely road trip.

Good thing I don't know the words to this song, although I love it. Nice to hear Neil Diamond's voice. Haven't heard him in a long time.
