At least at my house.
You remember my little tattoo dresser?
I sold it.
In less than 10 hours.
For a nice little pile of $20's.
And now Mr. Jenny has grandiose plans of retiring and living off the income I make from painting tattoo furniture...
...I know this for certain because...
He has graciously told me I can use as much of the garage as I want for my finds...
AND...
He even SUGGESTED we go to garage sales this past weekend...
Where we scored this totally cool industrial stool that is being re-done in charcoal gray and lime green as soon as I can get the last leg-raiser thing-y out of the leg pipe thing-y...
And today he dragged himself away from his desk and took me to some building supply re-cyclers where instead of finding plywood (for a modern art idea I want to try with 412 two by four ends)...
...we found this totally amazing sideboard for 40 bucks!
And so now when I go outside, instead of being worried about being attacked by hummingbirds, I now have to worry about being dive-bombed by these...
Because, honestly, I never thought I'd see the day when Mr. Jenny actually ENCOURAGED me to bring junk home!
So yeah...
The times, they are a changing...at the Matlock house.

Congrats! It only takes a few Jacksons to make skeptics believers! Don't worry, the flying pigs are a lot friendlier than the hummingbirds:@)
Big Congrats on the sale!!!! WOOHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow...I love those awesome finds and I can't wait to see what you do with these!!!
Blessings today Miss Jenny!!! Love ya girlie!!!
Most excellent, Matlock!!! You know, I have a dry sink that reminds me of your new piece... it could use a tattoo...or two...
Yay for Steve seeing the light of junk!!!! And for pigs flying!!!
But really... "Walking on broken glass"?????????????? Not a pretty picture...but it has a good beat and I can dance to it.
Exciting and Junk On!!!
Jenny, the title of your post is a little premature - we don't turn the clocks back for quite a few months.
Hey - I wanted that. I just didn't know you were going to sell it. I thought you were probably all sentimentally connected with it after that amazing work you did on it. It was adorable in the end. Glad you could restore it in such a neat way.
Now. I have a few things in my house........oh well never mind. Even I wouldn't tackel those. :)
Pigs do fly in Cincinnati, once known as Porkopolis! There are many decorative flying pigs around the city, almost as pretty as your little tattoo dresser, Jenny
I can totally see that sideboard redone in a creamy chippy white and pale gray doors....ahhhhhhhhh!
Happy Day!
LuLu~*xoxo
Ha! I guess you showed him...Congratulations on the sale. That is awesome! I love the sideboard and chair. I can't wait to see what magic you create.
As for hummingbirds...those little moochers. I bought a feeder this spring and placed in the back yard hoping to see pretty little humingbrds darting about. The feeder is nearly half empty and I have yet to see even one hummingbird in the vicinity. The least they could do is provide a little entertainment for their dinner.
Have a fabulous day, Jenny! La
THAT'LL teach ya'!!!!!
-chuckle-
~♥~
He is seeing MONEY in all the junk. ;)
Congrats on your new endeavors.
Congratulations on your sale. Love that sideboard & what a buy.
I'm anxious to see what you do with the chair because I have the very same one.
Oh Jenny that's so awesome I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
I love the new piece! I hope you got a lot for the dresser. It was awesome.
You go MISS JENNY!!!!!
woo hoo! Hallelujah! You go! Find junk!
I just saw an HGTV show where a bedroom was done in charcoal and lime. Looked fabulous!
I am serious! If I haul my former rolling oak microwave cabinet up to you, will you design something and paint it for me? I will send you a photo of it in it's current condition. It lives in my powder room and it looks a little plain.
Congratulations! You dresser looked great and I can't wait to see what else you come up with.
Wow! I just knew you'd be making $$ from all the fun you had with that dresser. Can't wait to see what you do with the stool and the sideboard.
That sideboard is lovely. I can see great potential and am looking forward to seeing what you do with it :)
That is awesome, Ms. J. I need one of your originals!
Go Mr.J! Now if you will excuse me...I have to go put on some Bob Dylan and find some furniture to paint...thanks for the nudge!
You're going to start a whole new design trend all by yourself. Congratulations on selling - the dresser to someone lucky, AND your vision to Mr. Jenny. Let those pigs fly!
I'm not at all surprised that your dresser sold so quickly. Congrats on your profit!! Did you list it for sale in the paper/craigslist, take it to a local store or did you put it outside with a sign? The new owner is ecstatic, I'm sure!
The new pieces are fantatic! I'm practically salivating over the sideboard!
I have a big trash to treasure project (several, actually) planned for the backyard. I'm hoping to work on it over the weekend if the weather cooperates.
High fives to Mr. Jenny for changing his tune!!
Stop by when you have a chance, I'm having a giveaway.
That's great, isn't it interesting how quickly some men change their minds when there's money involved. (But they love to accuse women of the same thing. ;)
Oh Jenny, I can't believe that you sold that beauty! Did I miss the post showing it all finished? Hmmmmm, I am going to look! I am really mad at you for selling it but at least Mr. Jenny is encouraging you to paint more pretties:) Have a blessed day, HUGS!
nice to have your own fan club! cant wait to see the chair when you are done.
blessings,
aimee
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. This is phenomenal! Way to go, Jenny!
o hun! I'm so happy for you! See I told you could start a business with your talent!
Validation is sweet!
;)
Is money all it takes to make pigs fly? So funny! Congrats on your quick sale..it was gorgeous so I'm not surprised.
My hubby learned a long time ago NOT to discourage my creative side. He knows I am a much happier person when I can create something of beauty and with love!
Would it be rude of me to say "I told you so"!
Ok, so I'm rude...
Congrats! You go, girl!
Wooot! I am thinking I missed the post of the finished product...gonna go back and check things out!
Tee hee, you totally crack me up, and I have to find a corner to laugh out loud so as not to startle my napping daughter ;-P Good luck with the entrepreneurial drive!
Awesome! Can I come down and re-upholster mid-century furniture in your garage? Is there room? I'll bring Dave, he is a whiz with fixing and reinforcing damaged furniture, we'll go big time!
That sideboard is a great find and I can't wait to see what you have planned. You're so fortunate to have converted Mr. Jenny into a junker! Congratulations on selling the tatooed dresser.
Twenty bucks?!??!!!! Geeze I would have given you more than that! I'm crushed!:( Purse your lips and don't look up. Pip poop is big!~Ames
Hahahahaha.. that's me cracking up.
I suppose now all Mr. Jenny see's are the $ signs.
You better watch him, he may think your his sugar mama now!
ps. I'm not surprised your tatoo dresser sold so quickly, you did a beautiful job!
