Since I've had a little run of gardening posts of late I thought it was only fitting that I do a giveaway for a gift certificate for gardening. I love this company! They were growing organically before it was even "in style"! I have been ordering from
The Tasteful Garden for a long time and it is my favorite place to buy all my vegetable plants. If you don't have space for a vegetable garden don't worry, they sell herb sets, cool things for the kitchen, books, fruit trees and lots more stuff.
I started writing a little garden blog for them last year which was fun and which you can link to through my side bar!
But I don't think you even care about all this, do you? You just want to know what the giveaway is for, don't you?
How about a $50.00 dollar gift certificate! Yup, it's true. Enough to buy lots of tomato plants or a Myer lemon tree or some raspberry bushes.
Here's all the blah, blah, blah to get up to 6 entries total AND each entry must be a separate comment so I can attempt to use the pick-a-winner software:
1. You must be a follower of my blog- (1 entry)
2. You must link to the drawing on your own blog and let me know you did! (1 entry)
3. Leave a comment on this post (1 entry)
4. Leave a comment on any other post of mine (1 entry)
5. If you have been a follower before this giveaway or a member of Chickberry or SITS please post a separate post for a bonus entry!
6. Visit
The Tasteful Garden and post an additional comment telling me what you'd buy if you win!
Drawing will be held on Sunday, January 17! Winner will be notified on January 17 in a post here AND by e-mail. If I don't hear back from you within 24 hours a second winner will be chosen and you will loose your prize.
Sorry to be mean and all but I have a short attention span and if I don't get stuff taken care of right away I tend to forget to do things!
If you have any questions you can post them your entry comment below.
Good luck and happy garden dreams!
PS. The rest of the peony story will post on Tuesday morning! Thanks for following along!

Oh Wow, great giveaway Jenny. I am already a follower!! I could get really excited about $50 at at The Tasteful Garden. I'll be back with more comments after I visit the site and I will post on my blog about your giveaway! Big Smile...this is a nice one!!
Linda @ A La Carte
I love that site The Tasteful Garden, I have bookmarked it. I think I would choose the Heirloom Tomato to grow, nothing like a homegrown tomato.
You said to post another comment if we were ALREADY a follower and I am!
You are so sweet! Thank you very much and in time for your giveaway too. I majored in horticulture, so we share a love of plants :) I'm looking forward to starting seeds in a month or so to be ready for spring planting. I usually start perrenials. We're having such a tough winter that this spring will be especially welcome to arrive. Stop by anytime.
Sounds like fun--please count me in!
I've also signed on as a follower.

don't put me in the giveaway, i have a totally black thumb :D
This is one giveaway I better not try to win. It wouldn't be fair to the vegetation. In fact, I was once told that if I killed one more plant, the botany police were gonna be called. Yeh...even my fake plants die on me.
But what a great giveaway! Good luck to whomever wins!
Wow Jenny! what a neat giveaway! I joined yesterday as a follower here and have posted a comment on both of your peony posts. I'll do a post on my blog tonight linking to you. I'll be back later to talk about The Tasteful Garden and all the great things I find there.... Thanks for the giveaway... no matter who wins it's so generous of you!
Great giveaway! I am a follower.
#6. I would buy a meyer lemon tree if I win.
I've always wanted a big garden, but since my postage size back yard has no dirt, only cement and a deck, my garden consists of comtainers in which I grow tomaotes and peppers and herbs. "Tasteful Garden" is a nice website and I enjoyed reading their gardening tips and recipes. I think I'd buy the herb assortment if I won, and the "Greens Glorious Greens" Cook book caught my eye.
I'll have to check out your other blog that you write for them! :-)
Nice give away Jenny! I've been a happy follower for awhile.
Hope you had a good weekend!
OK Jenny,.... just finished my blog post linking to your post here. What fun!
I visited The Tasteful Garden site... wow,... I'd buy the French basket tote and garden gloves to start, but would probably also order the knee pads too! So many wonderful things!
Jenny...I am so glad you stopped by earlier...I became a follower of yours too...I look forward to getting to know you better!!!
Enjoy!!!
XOXO
Cathy
Hi Jenny, thanks for visiting the ol' blog! Always happy to make new friends. By the way, I did have to grab a whole big box of tissue after reading your peony story. It was just too sad!
Well, looking forward to more visits and Happy New Year!

Entry #4: I was a follower prior to this so I am commenting again!
I just visited Tasteful Garden and oh my word I am in trouble!!!!! :-) I want to order EVERYTHING!!!!!! I think if I had to pick one I would try some kind of lemon tree that I could bring indoors when it gets cold. I love lemons and it would be fun to try and grow my own!

Holly

Hi Jenny...
Sweetie following your directions again. Here is another post, I was already a follower before your giveaway. Thanks for the extra opportunity to have a chance to win.
Country hugs sweetie and so much love...Sherry
Okay, here is my post. Now I have to go back to the top to see what else I am suppose to do ... all these things ... and I NEVER win anything .. okay except that I won when I got a cool cousin like you!!! Muuahhhhhhhs
I'd enter, except that with so many critters in my yard, it's almost impossible to keep anything planted back there. Unless the giveaway is good for azaleas...
And you know I went straight to the kitchen stuff because it is COLD in OHIO!!!!!
Ohh I need that copper verdigris windowsill herb kit ... and the haning rosemary basket and and and ... heirloom tomato plant combo ... forget winter!!!! lol
Hi Sweetie...
I have left comments on both peony posts. Love the story by the way. How heart wrenching tho to go back and find your gardens of love all gone. My Grandma always told me, "You can never look back."

Ok, I visited the site and I liked too much stuff! I like the 'on the table' section, loved the guac dish and loved the stainless salt/pepper shakers. I would love some home grown peppers! The herb gardens were cool too! Doesn't help that it's almost 3 and I haven't eaten lunch yet! I'm HUNGRY!

pksanddancer(at)yahoo(dot)com
I am a follower and your blog is so well done. I'm going to go look around some more in just a minute. But first, I went to the garden website and I would have to

This is a terrific giveaway!
Love you, love your blog, love your contest! #3
Did I mention I'm a follower of your blog? #1
So sorry I am such an air head- some how it went down to far and I left all my comments on another blog entry which I am sure will mess everything all up. so I will do this again-
became a follower
blogged about your fantastic giveaway and linked up too
Seeds! I would get seeds to plant in the spring (next month??)
I would order herbs, the basils, lemon verbena, and I noticed they have stevia which I have been wanting to grow.
I read about you peonies. So sorry- OUr last home we had 10 acres and the front yard had over 40 heirloom roses. We also had a huge windbreak at the back of the house- you could tell within month that the trees in back were dead- I just couldn't bear to drive up the drive and see how the rose bushes were doing!

I hadn't heard of the tasteful garden before, what a great variety!
Last year the evil mail order company I ordered tomatoes from sent them at the end of June, and most of them were dead, and by the time I got anything going from them I got perhaps 4 tomatoes from the 8 plants.
What I would order with the certificate would be...*drumroll*
Super San Marzano, Opalka, Better Boy, Black Zebra, Kellogg's Breakfast, Solar Fire, Yellow Grape, Rose de Berne, Fireworks...all those tomatoes for ME
And Yukon Gold potatoes for my tomato hating husband.
He likes tomatoes once they are made into sauce, but I really need to validate having 8 tomato plants to try to get enough to transform them!
gibbylet(at)gmail(dot)com
Yum...I would buy herbs and arugula (haven't tried to grow it yet.) And eggplant. And those purple potatoes!
What a wonderful giveaway! Thanks for hosting!
Kate
