The world is divided into two kinds of people...

...those who have tattoos, and those who are afraid of people with tattoos.

I don't want you to be afraid, though.

Because, I'm not a people who has tattoos. Anywhere.

I'm just a people who now has a tattooed style dresser.

And I have one for 6 bucks.

Yikes.

I went over my budget by a dollar...but in my defense...I now have over 1/2 of a bottle of high-gloss varnish...(Thanks Dad for the free knobs!)

...sooo...

I think I did pretty good.

Are you ready to see my finished FREE ugly white dresser with no knobs that Mr. Jenny and I got into an argument over?

Okay.

Close your eyes and count to three.

No peaking.

ONE...

TWO...

THREE!!!!!!!!

Yeah.

Mr. Jenny is pretty much eating his words now. I have a new project in mind to get started on next...unless I find some free furniture at a garage sale this weekend!

Thanks for letting me share my little tattoed beauty with you!

And, no, that first picture is NOT Mr. Jenny!

Sigh...

You should be taking a bow...and then we'll yell "encore!" Wow, it's unbelievable! I knew you had artistic talent, but this is really special.

If I lived in AZ, I'd buy it in a heartbeat....and I don't like pink. But I love red and I love the art work. Love.

It's just simply lovely! Your dresser and really not the man in such a colorful face...oh I hope he really doesn't look like that in real life...that is totally scary and gee it almost looks like a photo you would use for a picture prompt! Ouch! But your darling special created with beauty by your own hands! It's great and I especially like the shine you see in the last photo...I say excellent job!

Wow,WOW, and WOOWWW! I am sooh impressed I am almost speechless! This really turned out fantastic Jenny.

I need to show this to my daughter. She can see how repurposing the furniture she already has rather than buying new would be would be worth the time and effort and save her a ton of money!

Well done Jenny! Does Mr. Jenny like it? ~Ames

Wowee! You could get a little business going with this, Jenny.
No tattoos on Pondside, but I'm not afraid of them either - from work I now have a very good sense of which tattoos came from a tattoo parlour and which ones were done with a rigged-out ballpoint pen in a cell.

Betty said...

You are really good! And you have a lot of patience. I'm very impressed. Now where are you going to put it? I'm afraid I got in over my head with my desk. :(

Dazee Dreamer said...

I freaking love the dresser.

And Mr. Jenny would so have to eat his word if you turned around and sold that baby for some serious bucks. Because you know you could. There are tons of people out there that would buy that.

You done good. (great english, huh)

Love, love, love, love, love it! You did a fantastic job, I'm so impressed! You should be picking up furniture at the thrift store, tattoo painting it and reselling it. You'd make a bundle!!

You've got me thinking about getting a tattoo, but I want you to do it, okay? I'll email you some ideas and sketches....

Oh, I do like tatoos on dressers, not on bodies. I am not afraid, but I do not understand the tatoo obsession. Your dresser is stunning really! Joni

Yowzers !!! That is awesome ! Did you free hand that ? I love reclaimed items made pretty and useful again !

Have you heard the 5 and above tattoo rule ?

I don't like tattoos myself...too many on a person and I'm away like a flash ( especially on women ) It's so prehistoric and tribal but I guess it gives people a sense of belonging and or making a statement of some kind/rebellion but the human body is so beautiful, why gum it up ???

Susan Anderson said...

Oh, Mr. Jenny. You just got rocked, dude.

;)

Lorrie said...

Not afraid of tattoos, but don't really like them. EXCEPT for yours - it's gorgeous! And I'm glad it's on your dresser, not you!

Oh Jenny. Your project is magnificent. I love it!

Move over LA Ink, Jenny Matlock is in town!

That turned out amazing and I'm not the least bit afraid of it, either. I wouldn't be the a bit scared to meet up with it, in a dark alley! Good job... NEXT!

Stephanie Matlock Allen said...

I still treasure the dresser that you fixed up for me - after finding it in a heap on my neighbor's curb! Like father, like daughter... I was quite incredulous that it was worth your effort. But it's beautiful & wonderful! So, thanks again, still :)

Amazing!!! what an incredible transformation!!! this i just love!!!

H said...

Lovely! That just shows what you can do with a little imagination, some artistic talent and a lot of hard work! Nicely done!

Unknown said...

Oh that.is.fabulous.
I think I'll go tell my own hubby I've decided to become a "tattoo artist" ... and then go look for some free furniture to practice on. Serves him right for calling me Digweed this afternoon ... even if I did come home with a bunch of "weeds" I dug up while he was working. They are herbs and useful plants, I tell you. Don't worry, I won't tell him I got the idea from you :D !

Happy Weekend my friend!

And a career is born! Furniture refinishing, special order, custom stuff.

Let Mr. Jenny eat a wad of cash along with his words.

Wow- that is awesome! Great job!

J said...

i would totally have that in my room. :)

Judie said...

Do you know how much painted furniture like that goes for these days? Are you going to do more? Are you? Are you, huh?? I have a piece that needs painting like that. May I give you a commission to paint my cabinet? I will pay you handsomely, within reason that is. Let me know. I will buy all the supplies. And with the money I pay you, you can buy more furniture at garage sales!!!!!!

You did more than an excellent transformation job...it's a work of art, Jenny! Beautiful!

Amy said...

Such a cute dresser!

Deb said...

Jenny that turned out awesome..now I can handle those kind of tattoos..

Unknown said...

I love tattoos, I have 24 of them and adding:-) Great job on the dresser, I love it also!!

Unknown said...

Oh wow! That dresser looks absolutely fabulous! If I send you some furniture can you do the same thing for me too? Of course, shipping would be expensive.... But if you ever come to Japan, you can come over and turn some of my ugly bookshelves and drawers into something pretty :)

By the way, in Japan, people with tattoos are not allowed into hot springs or public bath houses because back in the old days, only members of the yakuza (Japanese mafia) would have tattoos. Scary, right?

Theresa said...

Oh YEAH Baby, I love it! I can't believe you painted that beauty AND THEN SOLD IT! I am crying about that... OK, not really but that work of art should either be at your house or mine! Now don't you do that to me again, I am out of tissue!

HUGS!
