The Week two...

...weigh in at Weight Watchers on the West side of Walmart...

Sorry...

Just threw that "on the West side of Walmart..." in there cuz I was all into the alliteration...

oops...

lost my train of thought here...

What was I weirdly writing about on Wednesday?

Acccckkk!

Sorry...

I think I've got some annoying alliterative alliteration going on.

ACCCCCKKKK!!!

OK, just a second.

...

...

OK, I'm back.

I did a few moments of jogging in place and got another cup of coffee so I think I'm ready to write...ummm.... good to go.... ummm...

Ahem.

So...

I went to that place last night where they weigh you once a week and you count points...

(Thank Heavens that worked...I thought my brain was stuck)

AND I have some disturbing news.

Yea.

You can't lose all the weight you want to in two weeks.

I know.

Shocking, isn't it?

I mean I've been counting my points AND riding my exercise bicycle for approximately 8 minutes each day.

And I'm pretty sure that riding for 8 minutes means I get to eat something like 12 extra points or something. Sadly I know 8 minutes isn't even on the chart for earning extra points. I'll have to check again when I work my way up to 10 minutes!

So, yea, I'm following the rules.

And I only lost a pound last night. For a grand total so far of 5, which I know is pretty cool.

But maybe if I go to a meeting without men I will feel better about the five pounds.

And there are a lot of men in this meeting.

And the only thing that saved me last night from running around and slapping all the big losers was the two guys who gained weight. AND I'm still wondering why they said that out loud.

Mr. Jenny, after his second weigh in has lost a total of ...

Get ready to gasp here...

12.6 pounds.

Yes, I said 12.6!

(SLAP!)And this other guy who has confessed both weeks so far to eating every day like it is his "last meal on death row" has also lost 12 pounds in the last two weeks.

(SLAP, SLAP!!!)

I know. We've talked about the wrong-ness of this before but I just wanted to whine again.

But on a serious note I actually kind of like going to Weight Watchers.

It makes me accountable. And the meeting is awesome.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go check the little booklet about earning extra points to see how many you get for advantageous alliteration!

Sigh...

Way to go Jenny! I wouldn't even want to know how many points that 1/3 of a loaf of french bread with butter was that I ate last night!! Today it's water, no bread.

Jenny, you always make me smile! Way to go on your 5 pounds! I've had too many false starts already this year. I'm revving up for the real deal... lol. Still tossing over the idea of returning to WW. Guess I just need to quit thinkin' bout it and get on with it :) Keep up the great work, and just don't pay those guys any mind at all ;) -Tammy

I feel your pain. My husband lost so much faster than me when we did it together a few years ago. Just hang in there. 5 pounds is super. One to two a week is all the experts say you should lose anyway.

Hang in there, Jenny. I'm working on the mainland this week and it's hard to eat healthy when you're eating on the run - everything is bad for you.
The Great Dane loosens his belt on Monday, says 'Gee, I think I need to trim down a bit' and has lost five pounds by Friday, with no discernible difference in what he eats or does. NOT FAIR!

Susan said...

Been there, done that. My husband has lost 35 pounds in 3 months. When I went to WW, I lost 9 pounds and it took me 2 months to lose that.
Keep up the good work and keep riding. 8 minutes is great.

Way to go Jenny! I think thinking hard and writing earns you points too! For example, the funnier and more clever, the more points! So you should be good to go for always making smile and giggle in the mornings. :-)

Good for you! And definitely a *slap* to the guys. When I did WW I always wanted to slap the perky little think that announced making Lifetime that week. And how much did she have to lose? 10 pounds. 10! There is a special place in hell for people like that.

Linda @ A La Carte said...

Whoo Hoo for you!!! I mean one pound is ONE POUND!!! I havent' seen my scale do anything but go up in so long. Guess it's time to get my serious on. I always think that WW is one of the best programs. Right now the $$ are a little hard for me but I will think about it.

5 pounds is EXCELLENT! One pound is excellent. Not gaining any weight is excellent.

I personally dug the alliteration. I stayed on that first sentence for more than a minute, admiring it.

Men have testosterone which enables them to lose weight faster. Don't let it bother you.

Don't let it bug you. It's not a freakin' race. :) It's not a diet; it's a lifestyle of healthy eating.

Jenny!!! I'm so happy and excited for you and your hubby! That is fatastic! I'm glad you are enjoying it and I know what you mean aboput being accountable. I weigh in every-single-day still and it does something to my brain. I stay focused and that is key for me. I'm at 46.4 pounds lost since last September. Slap/Slap! I did it for you...LOL! HeHe! *Smiles*

I'm still drinking my coffee...Oops!

I did not mean "fatastic" as a subliminal message.

not too shabby! 5lbs is a great deal. i'd love to lose 5lbs. in my abdominal region. and then i'd like to put it in my rear region.

i just wanna shake from behind a little when i walk.

Congrats to you and Mr. Jenny....the health benefit of losing just 5lbs is great!

5 pounds is still so awesome! Way to go girl! You can do this! :)

How cool that you are doing this with your hubbs! :)

You have got be be burning some calories with all that slapping, right! I am doing WW right now too(not attending meetings)...and frustration is starting to set in just a bit. HOWEVER...I keep on a counting!

Funny story...one of my sons good friends heard all the talk about counting points and he pipes up and says, "What do you get when you get to a 1000 points?" "Do you get a prize or something?" Obviously his mom has never had to do WW. Slap, slap! ;-)

Goodness, Jenny, you'll be arrested if you go around slapping all those guys! Good for Mr. Jenny and good for you, as well. Five pounds is not bad at all. Just don't reward yourself with a candy bar. I've been trying to get on the treadmill. That darn Jeremy. If I tell him I did fifteen minutes ( I confess I fib to him ), he'll say, "Why didn't you do twenty?" The brat...can I have given birth to this child?

Hi Jenny,

Glad to have met you. I use to go to WW many years ago and it actually worked, but of course I fell of the ice cream wagon and well, let's just say...Good for you! 5 lbs is a lot.
Go to the market and put 5 lbs of apples in a bag and see how heavy that is. I too have lost weight...as of last Thursday...51 lbs, the trick this time...No diet I needed a life style change. So you go and learn how to eat healthier and when you reach your goal...we'll go out for a banana split...lol

tootles,
bunny

Men on diets should seriously be required to keep their results to themselves! Loved your post as always! :)

Congrats on those 5 down Jenny. We're in the same boat-Mine is ticking down 1 pound or even (Grrrr) 1/2 pound a week. I just keep trying to tell myself it's one less pound that my ankles have to deal with. Good luck this next week! Hope I don't need to send Mr. Jenny a hockey goalie mask for face protection!

"Alone again.... naturally!" said...

Your posts always make my day! Good luck with your goals and I think that maybe the guys really really need to keep their results to themselves if they know what's good for them, lol. Cathy

Men and their weight loss. So bitter. Good for you! It's a great program.

Really, why is it that men drop weight twice as fast as women?
Congrats on 5 lbs! You should be proud like the little engine that could... just keep plugging and soon it will be 10!!

Julie Harward said...

I know it's a good plan and does work for people...for me, "keeping track of" would totally drive me nuts! I know, my bad, but I couldn't do it. My best wishes to you though, I'm sure you are better at it than me! :D

Okay, you have said the exact same things that I've been thinking myself. I also joined Weight Watchers 12 weeks ago, and this week I gained like ".2" or something like that--Maybe I should have emptied my bladder before I weighed in!! You're off to a good start, but those men, I think there needs to be a mutiny at a meeting, I'd be willing to start one!! :-))) By the way, I think we get extra points if we blog more than 20 minutes too!! :-)))

Kat said...

Congratulations Jenny! 5 lbs is great. WW is the only thing that has ever worked for me. Although right now stress seems to be doing the trick, but I wouldn't recommend it as a permanent wt loss solution :) Loved this post, at first I thought Alphabe Thursday came early and jumped to W lol. Kathy

What's up with that anyway? Fat just melts off the guys and we kill ourselves to try to lose an ounce! ... I need some ice cream!

Good for you - yes I agree, grossly unfair about the men, but what can you do...sweep them to the side and march on Sister!

Proud of you.

I know it is frustrating to hear that those men lost so much weight but that is just the way it goes. You are 5 lbs lighter that you were just a couple of weeks ago and if you increase the bike or add a little walk to your exercise you will lose even more. Losing weight is such a hard battle when there is such good food everywhere you go! But you can do it!

Tgoette said...

Great job on losing those 5 lbs! Sure you might not be losing as fast as we men do, or as effortlessly as we men do, or as noticeably as we men do, but for a woman that 5 lbs is great and a step in the right direction so feel good about it.

Hmmm...I think I just lost two pounds reading this post. Yay me!

I'm right there with you..on the Weight Watchers thing ..not the other thing..alle..alleteration..
So far, I'm down 63..sounds great until you hear I have anotehr 40 to go! Yikes! Oh well..that's where Zumba comes in..

Good luck - it is the meeting and the accountability thing that keeps me on track..I can lie to myself and have for years, but not to much with other people :-)

And yeah, what's this whole men-loose-at-lightening-speed-thing?

That's OK...I think our being able to accessorize more than makes up for any advantage they have:-)

Congrats to you on the 5 (o:

here are just a few little things that helped me
> diet pepsi (now I am addicted)
>WW yogurt...1 point
>Boca burgers(original vegan is 1 point) on a 1 point bun (Oroweat 100 percent whole wheat sandwich thins are maybe a little over 1)...I cook it in the microwave for a minute...then brown it in the skillet because I like it crispy. I slice a red onion thin and also add spinach leaves and catsup. I love them.
>slice zucchini thin and brown it with Pam
>air popped pop corn with spray butter (not real butter) eat a bowl all evening to keep you from eating other stuff (o:

Why oh why can men lose weight so much easier than women? I did really well for about 3 months, and in the last few weeks I've lost all motivation. Time to get back on the wagon.

Brenda said...

I would be happy with 5 pounds which is what I have gained in the last month. Doc put me on something for the hot flashes and I think I gain weight swallowing that pill each day. What is up with that. Not a happy camper at all. Glad your making progress though. Good for you!

Ms. A said...

What is it about men and weight loss? They can just think about it and the pounds melt away. Jerks!!!

Mrs. M said...

Sorry my friend, but I think 8 minutes of bike riding only gets you and extra 8 points - it's a point a minute, right?

And those darn men only have to think about losing weight and or walk maybe 10 extra steps a day to lose weight.

Dee said...

Five down is betterr than five up! Any way...the men may lose quicker than we do...but we look better than they do when we lose.:)

Jeanie said...

Those 5 lbs are a good loss. Do the math over a few months and you will be a skinny Jenny.

Lourie said...

I love the visuals of slapping the men around! hahaha. I need to post about my most recent (mis)adventures. I have a separate blog for this. Anyhoo...I need to get to posting on that. In the meanwhile you wear your 5lb star with pride! You earned it!

Pat @ Mille Fiori Favoriti said...

I really, really, should join WW! I'm just not that dedicated to following plans and points, etc.
I know I should try it...and look at you 5 pounds thinner! Great job!

What a tragedy. I am positive next week you will loose as much weight as you want. I hear wishing off those extra pounds sometimes works, although for me it has never worked. Are you fed up with the whole point system yet? It always sounded complicated to me. You hang in there Jenny! I know you can do it, slapping those big losers had to be worth a few hundred calories right!

Brenda said...

My most sincere condolences. I know you really wanted to lose twenty pounds this week... but hey, a pound is a pound so stand tall and stop sneaking the Snickers, that's probably what's holding you back, LOL!
