The prompt from this week is highlighted. To read other links to this weeks SC, just click here. Here is my little offering.

The gaily wrapped holiday package from my Mother-in-Law had fooled me for a moment, but an involuntary gasp of shock escaped my lips when I opened the shoebox and saw the pointy-toed shoes.
“I saw this stylish footwear and thought of you,” She had said with a straight face and a sarcastic smirk. The label inside the shoes said, ‘Made for Witches.’

“Thank you,” I said graciously, recalling the special Ex-lax laced fudge I had made for her gift. Originally I had wondered if I was being too cruel. Now I knew it had been the perfect gift choice.

Welcome to the dark side, Jenny!

Great job on the prompt - deliciously evil, I think!

At least you could have included toilet paper in your gift to her!

Say, what size are those shooes, anyway? I might take them off your hands. Actually, I wear a 6, but a 9 is more comfortable. Do we have a deal??

Dear Jenny,
I know that I am very late with my comments on others' posts for just this particualar SC for week 32.
I read som posts that kind of spoiled my appitite for reading more. But now I am here, going through the list backwards to read what I missed.

I love your text. It is the perfect balance of female-wickedness (almost feline!) and humor.
I had a mother-in-law that was sort of mean. At the coffee after her funeral, no one got up to say anything at all. People usually tell stories about the deceased that say something about his or her good character or talent or intelligence. Nope. There was just the soft chatter of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, that seemed akin to a sigh of relief. As if she was not even missed.

Thank you for your eloquently encouraging words on my SC-post. I have never actually met you, but I know that I love you. Please take good care of yourself. But when you do go, you will definitely be MISSED!

Hugs,
Anna
