Cherokee Healer - Part three

If you missed the first part of this true story, just click here before you starting reading this.

If you missed the second part of this true story, just click here before reading this.

I sat for a moment in silence absorbing what she had shared.

And then I informed her I had just had bloodwork done but nothing had shown up.

She sat quietly for a moment and then replied, “They did not do the right test. They forget to do one of the tests.”

I told her that part of my last blood work had shown the anti-bodies in my blood were fairly elevated (this is often a part of auto-immune disease). I wondered if that might be what she saw in my blood.

She replied that what she had ‘sensed’ was gaining strength and stressed again that I hadn’t had the right blood test done.

She then put a hand on me knee and almost whispered, “You have been very sad. You were once very strong and it is hard for you to be physically weak. But you will be strong again. It is just a very long road to that strength.”

And, yea. This startled me because it’s true. I have always been a very physical person…I like to dig and haul and build and have been unable to do any of that for about a year and a half now. It did me so much good to hear her say I would get my strength back.

She informed me that she sensed some of the physical problems had been with me for 35 or 40 years but that things had gotten substantially worse only 5 or 6 years ago.

True again.

I’m totally not sure why I wasn’t creeped out by any of this, but I wasn’t. I felt very calm and comfortable. Sitting in that smoky room I felt a sense of peace and hope really. And I really believed in those moments that things would feel brighter again.

We talked a bit more and she told me that the main problem right now was balance in my body and my heart...that nothing was in balance. I heard something very similar to this recently from one of my other doctors…that balancing auto-immune issues and hormone issues and adrenal depletion issues is a difficult task requiring constant vigilance.

Lisa and I conversed further about getting into balance and she assured me that getting the correct bloodwork done and the adjusting the supplements that I was taking, combined with her ‘balancing’ me would make a difference.

I asked if I should return for another 'visit' and she replied, “You will know if you should and you will know when to call me.”

Pausing again for several long moments she added, “You have been eating wheat flour. Flour is really bad for you, but you know this. Think of it like poison.”

I said I had been told to avoid sugar and a lot of dairy as well and she replied those things were fine but to think of flour as poison even though it feels like it is comfort.

She concluded by telling me to do several days of a clear fast and to see if anything came to me about a stronger cleanse.

I asked her to clarify that statement and she said she couldn’t and that I should listen to my body for the answer on a cleanse.

We sat a bit longer and then she said she had nothing further me.

I got up, amazed at how light my arms and legs felt. We hugged. She told me again how pleased she was at my open-ness to being healed. Again, I had that very strong sensation that the fog was lifting...and things were going to improve.

She doesn’t charge a set fee, but I gave her 40 dollars. It felt like the right amount. She didn’t really look at it but I sensed it was OK.

And now…the rest of the story.

Prior to seeing Lisa on Friday I had a blood test already scheduled for the following Tuesday. I called my Doctors office on Monday and asked if they had ordered all the usual tests.

An hour or so later, the assistant called and said she was e-mailing me a new lab order and because the order I had did not include the additional panels they usually run.

On Friday I got a call from both of my doctors telling me the labs showed a strong imbalance in TSH (thyroid) levels combined with a substantial increase in the antibody count. My vitamin B-s and D’s were deficient as well AND the magnesium/pottassium levels were out of the low/normal range.

So I got adjusted meds, and added and changed supplements as the Healer directed.

I’m still in the extreme headache phase of medicine adjustment (I’m really, really sensitive to any changes or additions to medications) but I do feel a distinct improvement in stamina and energy.

On top of that I talked to the friend who had recommended Lisa to me and asked her about her visit and her recommended testing.

She is colon cancer survivor and has had a lot of health issues over the past several years. She has been feeling pretty lousy for a few months now and heard about the Cherokee Healing lady.

When we compared notes her appointment was quite different then mine. No smoky cedar boughs, no pollen, no sweet grass burning, no protection of the heart.

But what she was told was that something was wrong inside her kidneys but whatever it was, was not terminal but needed fixed.

Lisa adjusted her supplements as well to deal with gastro-issues and other issues related to her cancer and told her to do a cranberry juice/purified water fast.

My friend had her tests done. Her kidney function was impaired due an undiagnosed kidney infection (with no typical symptoms), she changed her supplements and has been feeling better AND she was told she was allergic to eggs. My friend eliminated eggs and as a consequence a lot of the gastro issues are gone.

I’m still sort of in shock over this visit.

I don’t know if this works for everyone, but it certainly worked well for me.

I have not felt a need to return to Lisa yet, but I feel certain I will.

And that’s the end of this story for now.

You might have some questions, and I’ll do my best to answer them honestly to the best of my ability on Friday. I don't know why this worked or how she knew these things about me but I am totally willing to try and answer your questions in a kind of Q & A post.

Just leave your question in a comment here.

It was a fascinated experience, and I thank you for reading the whole story.

PS you asked us to let you know if you hadn't visited our 'B' post! So just to let you know I didn't skip the assignment!

If I had a Cherokee Healer in the neighborhood, I would definitely go, based on your account and experience.

Just got through these sequential parts. Loved the story! That really is amazing! And I'm so glad that you're feeling better--which is the most important thing. :) I'll be praying for you, Jenny. :D

So glad this has worked well for both you and your friend.

My only question is: Do you think I could get an apppointment to see her while we're out there? We land in PHX midday on 11/9 and don't leave until the 16th.

I feel better just reading about her..Is she in Phoenix, Jenny? For $40 I think you should go to her once a month for re-enforcement of her spirit...

I love the way you have described your thoughts and feelings throughout the telling about your experience. I hope the rest of the story continues to be one of healing.

I'm so glad for you, I believe having an ailment/illness treated holistically really does initiate a cure, and giving our bodies what it needs and eliminating what it doesn't is sometimes the key ... I'll have to start looking for one in England! So pleased for you :o)

This is still just so fascinating to me! I am happy to hear it is working for you. I do hope the headaches subside. Too bad she is not in my area, I certainly feel like I am out of balance with my vitamins and hormones for sure. It would be great to have someone who could guide me to adjust this quickly. Very interesting story, thanks so much for sharing!

I think to the majority of us such things are inexplicable. In some ways it sounds similar to Chinese Medicine which over time has crept increasingly in as supplemental treatment in Western Medical techniques. Sounds like this is an area that would be worth further investigation too. Fascinating story.

Thanks for stopping by - don't know what could have happened to the earlier comment! Mysterious disappearance into one of those innumerable black holes we keep reading about perhaps?!

XOXO Lola:)

I think it's great that you went to see her and I hope you can get back to normal , without pain that is . I have high blood pressure issues and need to go see a doctor soon . I also think you should take her advice and do a cleanse. May I suggest the Master Cleanse?
It works for me . Take care Jenny .

Wow Jenny - I wish we all had access and the willingness to try non-conventional forms of healing. I applaud you for going - this Lisa sounds like an amazing intuitive.

I am curious how Cherokee Healers come by their training (if any)? Is this just passed down generationally? The process seems similar to Reiki?

Hope you are on the road to a full recovery!!

What an experience that was. Thank you for sharing it - I'm sure that there are many who, like I, are touched in one special way or another by some part of this. Please keep us up to date on how you're doing.

I know Jenny that you don't really want to hear this but if you could just try this for 2 weeks. Honestly after all you've been through 2 weeks is nothing.

Gluten - is wheat flour. 90%+ of those of us with autoimmunne disease have an issue with gluten.

I can walk you through this because it can be overwhelming. Please feel free to write me. This is the test you were missing I am sure of it.

The question begs "how do I find a Cherokee healer where I live"?? As I was reading I got chills and tears came. A kind of affirmation if you will. Having some health issues as well as hating going to regular dr.s hinders me greatly and I totally believe in alternate healing.

So glad that you are feeling better! Cathy.

Hi Jenny, I am glad to hear you found some answers to why you are having certain health issues. I think everyone needs to be their own healthcare advocate and most of all they should listen to their bodies.

I understand about the sugar...Gloria Swanson once said "That stuff is poison. I won't have it in my house, let alone my body." I am a major sugar addict so I must be poisening myself big time!

I am wondering, did the Cherokee healer explain to you why she considered the wheat flour poisen?

I guess what I am asking is what kind of problems does consuming wheat flour cause? Is it only you? Or everyone in general? And is it only wheat flour or all flour?

So would a diet without sugar, eggs and wheat flour be considered Vegan?

I find this all so very interesting. It hasn't been that easy for me to convert to "organic only" considering my location and availability of products. I give it my best effort though. I can imagine converting to a Vegan would be a major, major effort.

Please let us know how you are doing with this. Hugs.~Ames

I am so glad to hear that Lisa was able to help you and will be there if you need her again. I know a Native American healer, she is not Cherokee but is a healer. I was anxious to see if this all turned out as it should and from what you said it has. I hope you continue to get better and better sweet Jenny. Hugs

This has been fascinating to read, Jenny. (All three parts!)I think there is much wisdom in the world of medicine apart from our traditional western practices. Keep us informed.

I caught up on post #2 and now just read #3 with awe. What an amazng experience you had with this healer, Jenny! If she made you feel better, stronger, and happier, it was well worth going to her. Human touch and compassion sometimes is the best healer of them all, and sorely lacking from conventional health care. When I was active as a nurse I always triied to touch my patients hands and give them positive words before I left their bedside. So many patients told me I was the only one to do that the entire time they were in the hospital.
I hope you continuwe to feel better and heal!

I am so glad that you got results from this. I have to admit that I don't know exactly how I feel about it...but if it worked for you, I'm thrilled. I just sent the link to a friend who has been suffering for quite some time with many issues. I have really had my eyes opened with these posts...I'd never heard of such a thing.

I find this fascinating - I live in England so we don't have Cherokee healers - well none that I have heard of.
I am a recovered alcoholic. I tried so many different ways to stop drinking. The last thing I tried worked for me and has continued to work for many years yet it wasn't the first thing i tried - it was the last.
I was told contempt prior to investigation is the bar to all spiritual progress and that I needed to be open- minded.
I believe this is what you have done Jenny, you went to Lisa with no contempt and with an open-mind and look at the benefits to your life.
People were healers a long time before healing became professionalised and medicalised.
I truly believe so many of our illnesses today are brought about by refined diet and nutritionally deficient food. Even fresh vegetables can have been refrigerated for weeks before being put on display.
I am so pleased you are taking this holistic approach to your health and shall be very interested to see how you get on with it all.
Smiles and blessings

First of all Jenny I am so glad you are feeling better. I have been dealing with some issues myself and this has been an encouraging series. I know we have to really listen to our bodies and we find many answers ourselves. I hope the change in meds/supplements works. Continued healing my friend.

There is so much we do not understand about how the mind and body work. Sounds like your visit to the Cherokee woman was positive in many ways. I am sorry that you have struggled so much with your health these last few years. I truly hope that things continue to get better. Hugs to you.

thank you so much for sharing this story! I would LOVE to find such a healer for my daughter. She has Juvenile arthritis and Fibromyalgia, and the associated issues with vision, fatigue, and weight gain. And now there are gastric issue coming up, and I hate the idea of more tests for her and more meds with more side effects. Can you ask if there is a healer your healer knows is real and is in Florida anywhere? I would be on the road with her in minutes, if so.

My e-mail is unicorn39 @ g mail dot com.

Wow! I wish I had such, in my area!!!

Hmm, I thought I had already commented. Guess not. Oops! I find it fascinting that she sort of already knew why you were going to see her. Your experience being so much different from your friend. How on earth did she know that? Also, the fact that you had to be open to be healed says a lot. I wonder how many people go to the doctor and are just not open/don't trust the doctor and so aren't healed. For any kind of healing it makes sense that you would have to be open. Wow, lots to ponder, and I am so glad she was able to help you so much! Yay to getting rid of chronic pain.

I long ago accepted the fact that there are people who know things and and have instincts that I don't understand. I would never close a door that has been opened to help me, no matter how odd it may seem. It sounds like you feel the same way...

What a great experience...thanks for sharing it. When I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a nutritionist told me to avoid meat, wheat, dairy, sugar, caffeine, and alcohol. I have cut way down on all of them and have kept my symptoms under control for years now. Okay, I cheat by eating too much sugar. And when the aches and pains kick in again, I have to give it up. This healer sounds very talented; she seems worth visiting again and again!

Jenny,

I'm a little late in commenting but enjoyed the "rest" of the story. I find it fascinating, and it feels like you are on the right track. I wish you perfect health and the strength to do physically whatever you desire!!

Thank you for sharing your story. I had a similar with a medical intuitive a couple of years ago. She was also very helpful.

Hugs to you,
