I is for Insanity!

Geez. You call yourself nice people?

C'mon!

How come nobody mentioned next week is Thanksgiving?

We host Thanksgiving here each year and use our dining room table along with with two other tables that we set up in the living room.

And yesterday I decided I would start making my Christmas cards...

Seriously.

If you would have mentioned it, I would totally have waited.

This cranky little "I" post is brought to you by Alphabe-Thursday's letter I. To read other less indignant posts, just click here.

Simple solution!

Stop doing/sending Christmas Cards!

I did, years ago. You have no idea, how freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeing it is! :-)

Or, you can leave all the cards out there, and tell family that you're canceling Thanksgiving at your place, this year....

I have an excuse though! I live in a foreign country where Thanksgiving doesn't exist! If I had known that next week was Thanksgiving, I'd surely remind you of it....or at least stopped the Insanity!

I'm insane as well. I am finished and yet incomplete with my Christmas shopping.

You crack me up! I have a dining room table full of legos...I won't be hosting though. So, that is ok.

I know! I know! It seems like Summer just ended yesterday. What's with Thanksgiving showing up so soon?!
...wishing a lovely Thanksgiving to you and yours...

Perhaps this year, everybody should sit at the Children's Table (You know, the card table with the bum leg? LOL!) Postscript: Even at a distance, your Holiday greetings look splendid!

Get ready...Christmas closely follows Thanksgiving! That's when the real insanity begins. Can you believe stores are opening at 3:00 AM the day after Thanksgiving or even worse they're staying open on Thanksgiving? I say boycott them, but I'm probably in the minority.

I've sort of been trying to kind of imagine that Thanksgiving somehow isn't actually quite as close as it now rather convincingly (even overwhelmingly) appears to be.

;)

PS. For me, your post has made it official.

The holidays do bring a lot of insanity don't they? Seeing family makes it all worthwhile.

You didn't get my email about Thanksgiving being moved to the fourth Thursday in November this year? I am so sorry...I will call the internet immediately! I am so sorry....

I know how you feel Jenny. I counted up my Thanksgiving guests and came up with 25! OMG, gotta go!

Me too! I'm a British expat living in Spain where Thanksgiving doesn't exist either! Here it's the Three Kings in Jan that's most important to the Spanish!

XOXO Lola:)

It snuck up on me too.
Funny thing is, my table is already set. BUT, it will be full of cat hair come Thursday...back to the drawing/setting board.

You make Christmas cards?

I meant to mention it, but it slipped my mind.

I think Thanksgiving is the forgotten holiday! I have my cards all made, I usually address them over Thanksgiving weekend.

The insanity hasn't even begun yet! LOL

You've already missed it - Thanksgiving was LONG ago - at least 6 weeks ago north of the 49th, but next year, I'll send you a reminder. :)

I bet you will have fun making your cards. I am glad we are going away for Thanksgiving and someone else gets to prepare for the meal and cook it.

well you'll just have to finish your christmas cards before thanksgiving dinner . *evil laugh*

Has someone already suggested giving your guests the fun of making Christmas cards? I know I would enjoy doing it if I was a guest....It's not the holidays without insanity.

Oh yes, I have a bone to pick with you... only last week I bought my 2011 diary, and once home I lovingly filled in all my Thursdays with the correct letter to join in Alphabe Thursdays.
What did you do? Add thanksgiving and Christmas Blessings and now I shall have to tipex out most of my brand new diary...and I was only trying to be a well prepared student as well :)

For all the loveliness on my Letter I Dining Room Table...there is another table in the Dining Room that makes yours look like Double Insanity. I, however, chose to keep my Insane Scrapbooking Mess to myself and outta my photos! I'm not sure how I'm going to to CROP it out of the dining room on Thanksgiving Day. When you make your Therapy appointment...mention that you know of someone in Texas that is worse off than you!

Did you say Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK??

Oh boy...

Just kidding. We are planning a trip home to Kansas so I don't have to do much except get ready for a road trip.

I bet you make wonderful cards, I would love to see them.

I love to make stuff...as you well know....but I don't do homemade Christmas cards. There just isn't enough time. Hope you and your lovely family have a wonder Thanksgiving.

I wondered why turkeys were so cheap this week....I'm off to Safeway! Thanks for the reminder!

It's probably a good job I don't have Thanksgiving to contend with, I'm far enough behind in preparing for Christmas!!

Hope you have a happy one though.

Put me in a coma the day day before halloween and wake me up the day after valentine's day...

not really...but things would be much more simple!

I feel so guilt-ridden
you know i don't cook
you know i don't clean
not that i don't want to
thanks to that flu show in 2007
my world as i knew it turned OFF

thankfully i am married to
S.U.P.E.R.M.A.N.
he does everything and does it well

no worries here
i know he already has menu ready
food purchased and prepped
and the same 3 people who come here
every wednesday night for dinner
are coming like they do every year
for Thanksgiving

he's upstate at the cabin
a welcome respite away from home
i can make my own breakfast
get myself ready and go to work
my baby sister will come in and
take BEAR out while i'm at work

so, holidays come and go
i just show up :)
secretly wishing i was able to be
in the hustle bustle mode again

i am so very thankful for my family
