A Blessing and a Giveaway...

A year and a half ago, I wrote a post about our middle Grandlittle, Riley.

It was a really sweet post...

...but...

I was still surprised when some time after that, Patti at Raspberry Lane e-mailed me and told me she wanted to make a little angel for Riley.

Some time passed and Patti e-mailed me again asking about hair and eye color of all the Grandlittles, and a few days ago a box arrived.

In the box was a treasure for each girl. Made by hand and capturing the sweet innocence of childhood, Patti sent a garden angel for each of our granddaughters.

Mr. Jenny and I were in awe. What lovely craftsmenship. What a thoughtful and kind thing to do. Indeed, we felt like we had been blessed.

To thank Patti (heaven knows she wouldn't want me to sew her anything...ahem) I thought I'd do a little giveaway featuring her work.

Although there are no garden angels on her website at this time, I was charmed by these sweet little prim carrots.

The winner of this giveaway will receive three carrots ... (one for each of my own personal garden angels)...

I will draw the winner of the giveaway on Sunday evening, July 31.

You can get three chances to win:

1) Visit Patti's blog and tell her you saw her garden angels. Click here to visit her. Leave a comment on this post telling me you did.

2) Visit Patti's shop and tell me another item you think is sweet. She sells pre-made items as well as supplies. To visit, just click here. Leave a comment on this post telling me what it is.

3) Just tell me hi in a third comment here.

This contest is limited to US and Canada!

Thanks Patti! You are a gem! These little angels make me smile every morning! And see that sweet little bag on the right? It is my own personal "Relaxation corn sack"! You can freeze it or warm it and it soothes sore and tired muscles. I'm going to try it on my fingers...since I do tend to go on and on a little bit.

Sigh...

Ok, so I've been purusing the pages at Raspberry Lane and I like all the snowmen, the pear and crow shelf sitter and somewhere, in one of the pictures, I saw a beautiful felt coin table runner that I just love!

The dolls are ADORABLE; I'm a true fan of ragdolls. But more significantly - THOSE THREE GIRLS!!
I just LOVE when you post pics of them - a)I so DESPERATELY want grandchildren and b) My two girls are redhead and blonde respectively!!

(I had trouble opening your email)
Jenny, I also wanted to add a few things about the beautiful comments you leave on my blogsite. While I am not the alanon member, I do feel your pain with enormous empathy. The agony of having no control; awareness that there IS treatment but that you can't DO IT FOR THEM. I'm rather certain this is not her first treatment. And treatment is a funny thing. Sometimes the client attends seven , eight times and on that eighth program, SOMETHING clicks and the beautiful promises begin to unfold for both the client and the family members. Meanwhile, we can only remember that sometimes there are no more treatments. I hate addiction Jenny!! And how it destroys so many lives. I hate it for society's ignorance and misconception. I hate it for its insidious power and baffling manipulation.

I wanted to tell you that I think of you and yours often and have added you all to my prayer list many times.

The life of an alanon person is purely pragmatic. It is what it is and acceptance is surely the key..

I hate it.

God's richest blessings and know I'm praying that this may be "the treatment" that grabs hold!

Hi!..and oh my goodness what a super sweet thing to do...I once made some clowns for my nieces in Florida but they weren't as cool as designing these this way...now I'm rethinking for my grandbabies. I will check out Patti's garden too! Thanks Jenny...

That was so sweet of Patti to make the adorable angels for your sweet grands!

I popped over to her blog to leave a comment, what a lovely blog it is!

I adore the scented sprays Patti sells! I wish I had a scratch and sniff monitor so I could smell them!

When I go to craft shows and country stores, the potpourri, candles and scented room sprays are the first things I like to look at. I love a good smelling house!

I really like the little garden angels and the way she matched their hair color. They're kinda like Raggedy Ann and adorable. I paid her a visit and enjoyed my stay.

There were actually a few things I really liked, but the little snowmen are adorable. I think she said they're something like 7 or 8 inches tall and you can buy the pattern too. I was tempted, but then I was afraid it would be one more thing I wouldn't get finished. They'd be adorable little gifts though.

Betty said...

Hi! I hope you're staying cool. We're actually getting rain...YEA! In fact, in another day or so I think I'll complain about all the rain. (Not really...we needed it so much!) :)

How nice was that?

Aw! I bet that just made your Grandlittles' day...receiving a surprise gift like that. I love all things homemade. I stopped by Raspberry Lane. It was hard for me to choose just one item so I love the gingerbread men cupboard tucks, the snowman sled, the story of the courting candle, and the wooden primitive firecrackers.
Thanks for stopping by aprons & Old lace. (I love Alphabe-Thursday)
