'Twas a Few Days Before Halloween...

and all through the house...
Things were in readiness, even the mouse...

The pumpkins were lined by the front door with care
In hopes that Trick or Treaters soon would be there ...

Wrinkled witches hands reached sneaky and slow
To grab some of the treats piled up and ready to go...

Scary pumpkin heads watched with diabolical glee
for the first sign of children....ready to flee...

And Pa in his witch hat...

And me with nails painted black...

Had just settled down for TV and a snack...

When what to did appear before our wondering eyes,
But a weiner dog dressed, in a Halloween disguise.

Oh he begged with his eyes and he howled most forlorn,
For Kit-kats, for Dots, for M&M's and candy corn.

To his great disgust we had to refuse
and when he turned around we saw he had a broom!!!!

And showing his fangs he gave us such fright...
when he barked out these words "It's almost Halloween night...

protect all the candy because I'm coming back"
And off he flew on his broom without getting a snack!

We went back in the house and were feeling quite wary.
Because it was almost Halloween and a hungry weiner dog is scary...

...and what we saw by his food dish gave us another great fright...
Ooooooh....there's nothing as scary on an almost Halloween night.

Hey....don't hate me because I'm poetic.

Sigh...

Oh...and...

BOO!!!!!

Love your Halloween rhyme and decor! That is scary to have empty bowls. Mine have emptied out a couple times already. OYE!

Jenny...you have "yoga toes"!
Lucky you! I'm jealous...my toes are all scrunched together and when I attend any yoga class there's always someone who points out my flawed toes!!
(Just thought I'd let you know your toes make me jealous)

Oh bravo for helping to save oh Halloween night, I almost had a bit of fright at those fangs...until I saw the old creepy hands of the might old witch ready to grab every candy she could...oh yes this is but a sweet reminder of what Halloween night is all about! Hooray, the wicked witch and all her sisters live on tonight perhaps out in the old pumpkin patch...which reminds me, are your little pumpkins still alive on the vine?

LOL, this was great... I love rhyme of course and it's just awesomly creative with all the rhyming and pics to go along with it all while sticking to the "Twas the Night Before Xmas" scheme. Excellent:-)

Well done, Ms Jenny... and BOO right back at ya! LOL!

That was clever. What is it about dogs that they always want to eat junk food? What is it about me that I always want to eat junk food?

cute. I'm a total Halloween slacker. We live in the woods, so no trick-or-treaters, therefore no impetus to decorate. ;)

Well, you seem to have recovered from the Tuesday festivities very nicely! Oskar looks happy to be part of Halloween!

You forgot to take some pumpkin fudge home with you. Too bad!!

What a poet you are. Enjoyed every line of it! That weiner dog looks a bit fierce. So sad that he didn't get a treat. I have a feeling that his trick are not over yet. Happy Halloween to you!
