Because I need to talk about something kind of serious.
And to actually make a confession.
I'm not really as nice as a lot of you think I am. No, that's not the confession. Give me a second here.
Let me take a deep breath and gather my courage.
OK.
OK.
C'mon Jenny, you can do this.
OK, it's about Spider Solitaire. Do you know that game?
If you don't know what I'm talking about just quit reading right now...
and...ummm....have a nice day.
And, yes, I am really, really very, very nice.
So Bye now.
Really....bye.
OK, is anyone still here?
Anyone know about Spider Solitaire?
OK, have you ever tried using Spider Solitaire as a giant magic 8 ball? As in, if I win this game then everything will be all right in my world.
Or...
As in...if I win this game and only use the undo button once everything will be sort of all right and I will probably survive whatever is bothering me.
Because that's the confession.
I use the undo button sometimes and sometimes I even use the control key that shows me the next move. Accckkk.
I feel cheap now.
But I think confession is probably good for the soul.
So.
OK.
I actually use the undo button and the control key that shows the next move a lot. Sometimes I use it for the whole game.
And I pretend that I didn't so I can trick the little part of the Universe that is controlled by Spider Solitare into telling me everything will be all right in my world.
OK.
And now I feel all dirty.
And cheap.
And I think I need to take a shower.
And I almost wish I could hit the undo button for this whole post.
But I can't.
Because I am committed to bringing you important breaking news here at Jenny Matlock off on my tangent at all costs.
And I am willing to bare my soul for the sake of journalistic integrity.
And no personal sacrifice is ever too much.
And...
...
You're welcome.
OK, go ahead.
Sigh...

Jenny you are just so hilarious! We all know you are nice and always will be. You can't help it. *Smiles*
Have a great day sweet friend.
~Melissa :)
Jenny, I am so glad you got that off your chest? Yes, it is a frustrating game.. I have played it and get tired of losing..lol
Have a winning day,
Maggey
You're not supposed to make me laugh like that, Jenny. Because the laughing makes me cough...and I'm just starting to get well. But I'll forgive you since you've been so nice and welcoming to new kid in class :-) And if I challenge you to scrabble, I'll just have my genius brother disable all the dictionary websites out there so you can't cheat...
It's OK Jenny...using the undue button does not make you not nice...I use it all the time. I think ..I am ...nice...I think! Gosh, now you have me wondering about my niceness. Love the smiles and chuckles I get each time I visit your blog. Dee
I'm never going to look at Spider Solitaire the same way again Jenny. You crack me up :-)
Blessings,
Marcia
I appreciate your honesty, Jenny. I know how difficult it was to get that off your chest, but don't you feel better now?
I have a confession of my own: I use hints while playing Spider Solitaire all the time. All. The time. I do it in secret, when no one's looking. And as much as I tell myself "just this one last time", I know I don't really mean it. And then I weep with shame and get into the shower fully clothed.
Whew. See? You helped me fess up to my own shameful secret! You're changing the world here!!
I do things like that when I play regular solitaire, except that I say if I win it means I'm going to die. I also do it when I play a piano piece without making a mistake. I think it's our nature as human beings. Like the Navajo blankets that always have a deliberate flaw worked into them so the weavers don't disrespect the Great Spirit and die an untimely death.
It's a good thing I always lose at Solitaire and make so many mistakes....wish I had an undo button for my life.
You mean you're NOT suppose to use the undo button?? Then what's it there for???? lmao!
You should be ashamed of yourself. I don't know if I can keep following your blog... okay, I can!
Hee Hee!
Hey Jenny, you are plain old cra-zee and I am so happy because now I know I'm NOT ALONE!!! Yes, I too have used this game to even determine a decision (not a big, important one, only teeny ones)but I can see that you are slightly OCD too and get caught in traps of your own making-just like ME! I bet if we compared daily notes we'd be rolling in the floor laughing....
Spider Solitaire is whre we CAN 'undo' and go for hints. It's all legal there. Let Spider do it for you. I do!
I actually use Spider for my release when I HAVE to be multi-tasking, like talking on the phone and I really need to concentrate on what the other person is saying, I play spider solitaire to concentrate. Now does that make sense????
Cheater! Cheater!
Well, since I admit to being a liar right there on the front of my blog, I guess we were made for each other. Dastardly birds of a feather, we should get matching embroidered satin jackets, like the pink ladies.
Well I don't play Jenny but it seems to me that if you are playing by yourself it wouldn't matter! So now you can feel guilt free!
Love Di ♥
Love the game!!! They added those two controls for people because they (the game designers) couldn't do it! So, it is totally ok...I turned Dwen onto the game and I have never seen him get so flustered...I like it...he's the brains of this operation and I get just a tiny bit of satisfaction knowing I can beat him! {Insert evil laugh here!}
I have only played regular solitaire -- I feel so out of the loop now! -- but I have never heard of this whole control button thing. Too darned bad it there isn't one for real life.
I've never played before.... but I read your whole post anyway!!! See, I'm a rule beaker too! haha

I understand- really I do. I play the "I'm just gonna play one more game and then I'll turn it off and go to sleep" game. If I play just one more game it will be the one I win. No..Ok, just one more game. I wonder if there is a Spider Solitaire anonymous?
Happy Wednesday Jenny!
I love spider solitaire and those buttons are there to be used, girlfriend. Do not feel guilty! Sometimes when I play it on my Iphone, I say to myself, "As soon as I win this game, I will clean the bathroom"... sometimes I just never win! You really should (or shouldn't) see the condition of my bathroom (haha). Great post!
This closely resembles how I do online crossword puzzles on pogo.com. I hit the hint button once or twice. Twice fills in the letters for you.
I don't speak Spider Solitaire. They didn't offer it in the foreign language department in high school and I've never had to learn it on my own because I've never had to go there. I hear they're really pushing English as a second language there....wish would make things so much easier for folks like me.
You are to funny... and I don't let myself play it because I could be totally addicted to spider solitare!!
Farkle is my addiction. Since I no longer work, I will even play it when I wake up at all hours of the night for my old lady trips to the bathroom....wouldn't want to miss the free bonus game points, you know.
Now I feel I must confess my little game addiction too...but, I'm not!
Cheat away girl...it's the one time we can!!! lol:)
Sorry, I have never played it...but I know you are nice! Come say hi :D
Too funny! My mom is in the same boat with you. She is a teacher and right now can only watch my two children on Saturdays. But lucky her, she will get them three days a week during HER summer break. So she is counting down the days too!
And now it is time for my deep breath: ... I do too, sometimes... :|
Well I have no idea what you are talking about but I like you anyway and finished reading the jibber-jabber:) Have a great day my friend!
Oh how funny, Jenny.
Must be great now to have that out!
My husband quite often plays Solitare on his computer, I have never bothered.
Hugs
Carolyn
Well, the Good Book does say, "Confess your sins one to another.."
I am addicted to Snood....and Diamond Mines.
Such as life!! It could be much worse. This doesn't cost me anything but a little sleep.;-)
You poor dear.
I am sure, if you ask around, there may be a meeting for people like you.
If not, go to your local church and beg, BEG for forgivness.
Or just ignore us all and keep playing. :0
Hilarious - I haven't played spider solitaire in a looooooong time, but I used to do the same thing. And by that I mean cheat a little bit, NOT use the game to predict how my day is going to go. :)
hey there, fellow spider solitaire cheater!
I have set the options to flip one card at a time. I know, but it's the only way I can win in under 2 minutes and I'm addicted to doing it faster each time. Sometimes I even just deal a new game if it's getting too close to the 2 minute mark... so I guess that makes me more of a cheater than you.
Gee. Thanks. :0)
Found you from someone I found on Secret is in the Sauce (thesitsgirls.com)
Oh Jenny! - insert shaking head here - you are such a HOOT! I knew about Spider Solitaire but not the control key ... how did I miss the control key!
Well, I don't play these games, but seems to me if you are playing against yourself what's the difference? You so keep me smiling, Jenny.
My husband plays computer solitaire all the time but I'm more addicted to facebook and twitter messages than games ..lol..if I'm on the computer and I'm not reading blogs I'm in one of those places.
How in the world do you manage to find time to play games, with a blog this size?
Oh, too funny. I will start my work after winning a game...or two in a row...or three. It's a sickness.
No worries Jenny. I use the undo and hint to make it through he occasional game too! How many suits do you usually play? I only play two, so my chances of winning are higher. If you REALLY want to increase your chances and feel smart, just play one suit!
Hello Jenny Matlock I love this post and yes you are a bad bad person. hahahaha...Seriously funny though because I am willing to bet that all of us at one time or another have done the undo button more than once in a game.
So happy you found me and joined my site because I can tell from this post that I am going to love reading your site....
Looking forward to getting to know you and did you enter my giveaway for the Paul Deen pans...you still have plenty of time
Thanks again for joining me
Maggie
HI!!!
I do not play that, but hubby does!!!!I only play regular solitaire!!!!I could never figure that other one out!!!
hugs,
jamie
Truth in blogging is important.
Thank you for your honesty.
Of course we'll all still respect you..............
in the morning.
My question is when do you ever find the time do play games on here!?! Let alone confess to pushing the right buttons (o:
I play an electronic game on my phone. My confession? If I am not winning, I restart the game.
Whew. Glad that is off my chest.
Oh my goodness. I think I've found a kindred spirit. I'm ashamed to even write this, but seriously...I've used this method to decide what to cook for dinner on several occasions.
Well, you are probably not the only one, my dear, using the undo button. I haven't played in a long time, but yes, I too, am guilty. Have a wonderful week and I hope you knee is better soon. Did you really want to climb a mountain anyway??
