How to not take a nap...

So...

I've been whining a little bit lately about how tired out I am from watching all three Grands three days a week.

Wednesday I was just tuckered out.

The girls were all playing Barbie with the Grandma's Helper Angel Girl and I told her, very quietly, I was going to go in my room and lay down for a little bit.

After about two minutes the littlest Grand showed up, book in hand and crawled on top of me to tell me she needed me to read to her.

13 seconds after that the oldest Grand showed up, with her own book in hand. Before long the middle Grand AND the Grandma's Helper Angel Girl all came back and soon we were all five laying the bed. I started singing the "There was five in the bed and the little one said, roll over, roll over..." song.

And that was the end.

No nap for Grandma.

But there was sure a lot of happy giggles from all five of us! Gosh, I'm lucky!

You are lucky...but I know you really are tired! Such a fun picture of all of you. I got my dad back home last night...and now the work begins. Hopefully, there will be an hour or two to brown the fat as a reward each day.

It is such hard work but so worth it. Throw a boy into that mix & it really gets crazy. At least you have a helper. Hope you got a little rest in this weekend. Great pictures. Jan

What a hoot Jenny! Sweet memories! I play the "close your eyes" game with my kids when I am tired. Whoever can keep their eyes closed the longest wins a prize. I usually win.

Hi Jenny Sweetie...
What a precious picture of love. I love the little faces, and I certainly remember that song. Roll over...Thank you for the memory.

I am still under lock and key for 3 weeks, but the Dr. did agree to let me start working from home next week. (I am running out of sick leave). I sleep 2 hours in the bed, and pretty much the rest in the recliner. I am trying to take it one day at a time. Thank you again for my fairies. I am going to try and create today or tomorrow. I had a bad weekend. I so wanted to go and see/hold the new grandbaby, but couldn't be there. Everyone has held him but me. It will be 3 more weeks. His Moma had a c-section so she cannot travel well either. He will be a month old before I get to smell that baby smell.

Thank you for making me smile this morning. I love it when you write. You have such a beautiful gift sweetie. Have a gorgeous week. Many hugs and so much love...Sherry

Jenny, Thanks for this precious post. Those of us who are grandmother's know just how you feel. It's a good kind of exhaustion, though, isn't it? The photos are wonderful - a permanent record of your "non-nap."

Looks like you might have to adopt Grandma's helper! (Or maybe you already have?)

What a cute bunch of little (and bigger) people.

Yes you are!! What a fun time!!!

Funny, unrelated story.

I have the speakers turned down on my computer. I just heard this ding coming from nowhere, and ran down the stairs thinking it was the doorbell. (I should have known better....the only time my dog EVER barks is when the doorbell rings - and he didn't bark.)

Imagine how foolish I felt when I came back up and discovered it was your sound track.

Oh so precious! I don't know how you do it ~ I can barely keep up w/William. I can't imagine him times 3! God bless you sweet Jenny. :o)

I'm a big fan of the nap as a necessity of motherhood. If you had to miss this nap, at least you had a parade of gorgeous redheads to share it with!

I love reading about the Grands-you crack me up :) We sing that song at daycare and use their names and crazy silly sounds for when they fall off the bed-the kids love it. Try hiding a pillow in the bathroom, along with a book, and casually remark that you're going potty and don't want to be disturbed...and lie quietly down in the tub...

What fun your grandkids are having! I think you need to make a summer journal and the girls need to write it and take photos...or do like I do with my pre-k class...LET THEM CREATE A BLOG! What fun they would have writing about all the fun things they do!

Oh Jenny, I have been complaining today about the heat and how it has drained me! I DID take a little nap this afternoon and it sure felt good!

Love the pictures of you and those girls NOT getting a nap but having loads of fun!

Sweetest blessing of all! Hugs!

Jenny, I just love these pictures. I hope you can see me smiling clear from Texas :) After the last 9 days, I promise you I could sleep through all of these interruptions! But then look at all the fun I would have missed. You are blessed to have them and they are blessed to have you! Kathy
