I broke a molar last night. Badly. As in vertical cracks into the root and pieces falling out into my mouth. And there is someone hammering on the side of my face with a mallet...
...and on top of that...
...well, gee...
I am going to have to get this tooth pulled today AND we're not supposed to miss any time during job training so I'm kinda/sorta freakin' out that I'm going to get fired.
Okay. I'll be honest.
It's more than kinda/sorta. It's total and complete freakin' out fest around here this morning.
I have to wait until the oral surgeon opsn to see if they could possibly pull the tooth at the end of my shift (which isn't until 2:30) but the pain is getting worse by the second so I'm not sure if I can last that long..
...and if I do have to leave earlier to get it pulled, I have to beg my trainer when we go on shift (with a swollen mouth and barely able to move my jaw) to let me try to catch up on Monday...depending on the time of getting my tooth pulled...
...so...
...at this juncture I just don't know what to do.
In the meantime...I thought I'd try to take the focus off my toothache, possible job termination, no kitchen, moving the first weekend of March chaos, broken footed husband, smashed car and pod and count my blessings.
Okay.
Ahem.
Here goes.
1.
Uno Numero.
Ummmm...
Okay, wait. I've got this. Just trying to think with someone using my head for batting practice.
Okay. 1. I can still write on my blog. It's not like I'm one of those people that has to type with a stick between their teeth because they had some tragic accident and are now paraplegic. Yeah. That would be worse. I am counting my blessings that's not me.
2.
Ummm... Deux.
Number two. Hmmmm...
Okay, I've got it. I have a big jug of lukewarm water. It doesn't hurt to drink it too badly. And there's a lot of people who don't even have water. So yeah. Lukewarm water that doesn't hurt my broken tooth too much is high on my list of blessings.
And...
3.
Three.
Oh geez.
This isn't helping. I'm just going to have to wallow in my broken-toothed misery.
And whine.
Cuz somedays are just like that.
Hope yours is definitely going better!
Sigh...

Oh my goodness, Jenny... you poor child! I pray that your day gets better, that the tooth gets removed AND that you don't get fired! Toothaches are no fun, I had to have a root canal a couple of years ago... UGH!
HUGS to you dear friend!
Man I hate the dentist.... I guess going through the pain all day for days is worse than having them pull it & fix that pain but it doesn't make me like them any more! I hope that you get it all taken care of, keep your job and get things back in order soon. Tell the trainor you'd be happy to let them experience what you are if they don't want to empathize and let you get it taken care of:-)
My motto these days is "you do what you have to do 'til you don't have to do it anymore". That, along with ibuprophen, is pretty much what I live by. Good luck! Jan
I can help...I think -
1. Beautiful Grand Kids that light up a room and a day even with a tooth ache
2. Broken footed husband that will do just about anything to put a smile on your tooth aching face
3. Ok...I didn't get very far either....
But hey, you are blessed even when it doesn't feel like it.
Load up on the advil, take a deep breath and let me know how it goes!
Oh no! I hope all goes well - keep us posted!!
Oh Jenny - what a stroke of bad luck on top of all that's going on. I hope you get in to see the oral surgeon and that the training people have some compassion. I know the pain, for sure, and have to wear a mouth guard at night to save myself from further breakage. Big hugs (avoiding your cheek) from up here.
Oh dear! Surely those trainers are people with teeth too and will feel compassion for yours....
Bring on the Advil, it does wonders!
A broken foot, a broken pod and a broken tooth...that's 3....things will for sure start getting better soon.
Pain can destroy your concentration, your attitude and even your life!
Hope all goes well.
Oh darlin' I'm prayin' that the wonderful company you work for has a heart!!!
I'm soooo sorry, been there done that. The DDS I was seein' at the time would not get me in...with a root exposed! I was dyin' and that's the day I changed dentists!!!
Prayin' for you girl...Can you mold some mondo~bondo (sold at drugstores and Walmart) round it to seal the root off.
I've used the stuff to put back a crown but it says it can be used as a temp fillin' also.
God bless and I'm prayin' for both your tooth and your job sweetie!!! :o)
If you need a 'letter from home' for your employer then we'll all write you one but surely you'll only have to open your mouth and show them and then groan and sink to your knees and they'll never fire you then... surely. Good luck!
AW!!! With all the dentists in our family, I wish I could send one of them your way!!! Hugs to you! Hope they get you in right away and I am sure those guys with the training would give this emergency an exception!!
You sound like you have your hands full with lots going on, in your neck of the woods!
Blessings & Aloha!
Hope all has been remedied by the time you read this post!
It does seem the universe is conspiring against you. I'd have a good, stiff shot of whiskey but that might make training a little difficult. lol ~ Maureen
Sending virtual hugs. I know how things seem right now, but soon this will be another memory that you can add humor to and turn into a wonderful story. Really. You are that talented.
Oh, Jenny! Bless you, hon. You've certainly had a run of bad lucky lately. Hope this means you are getting it all out of the way and things will settle down and be smooth, soon.
God bless you.
I have been going through some teeth issues myself.. Getting old isn't for pansies!
This stinks! (See how I try to help you look on the bright side?)
;)
PS. What you need is pain medication. I rarely use it, but nerve pain in the tooth is excruciating. In the meantime, add salt to your warm water and swish it around over that tooth. If you do it a few times, it really seems to help.
PPS. I have to think your boss will understand. We all know what it feels like when the nerves in our teeth are acting up. Have mercy!
o hun I am so sorry everything is piling up on you *HUGS*
I'm going to be doing some kind of indian dance to clear your house of all bad things. (and then I woke up)
Man, teeth are the worst.
Well shoes and shinola Jenny you have had the terrible three's...well more than the three's actually but I think it is probably safe to say..."And this too shall pass". Who said that anyway?
See uh this is how you look on the bright side: 1.)You're moving but you get to do a totally new garden in your next place. Nothing like a move to stimulate the ol creativity. 2.) Yeh the kitchen was a last minute reno but, you are still selling the house and it will be done. IT WILL BE DONE! 3.) Yeh Mr. Jenny broke his foot (poor guy) but it will heal. 4.) The boo boo on the car(probably because Mr. Jenny's broken foot turned into a lead foot)this too will be fixed. And number 5.) That tooth was gettin' old and you needed an upgrade anyway. :0 Squeeze some orajel on it and maybe that will get you through your shift before the surgeon and can rip, dig, and drill it out of your head.
I'm thinkin' about ya! And I will say a prayer for you. I think you might need it.Hang in there. You are almost through with the training and God really doesn't give you more than you can handle. Really he doesn't. We are tough women. I have all the confidence in you!! Love ya, mean it.~Ames
well, okay look at it this way ... i could have been your front teeth ... yup, just had mine done a week ago ... not so much fun ... and hey, you have sunshine ... imagine going through everything with icy mixed rain and snow falling from an unrelenting grey sky ... and ummm ... well that's all i got ... but dont worry, this too shall pass ... and then a whole bunch of other stuff will happen, but remember, this too shall pass ... hugs!
Oh man! when it rains it pours! And it is REALLY pouring on your right now. Sending positive vibes your way....hang in there!
Jenny, I am not really sure what is going on over there in AZ. I might have to get on a plane and check you out in person. but, you might now like having a visitor while you are in pain, possibly losing your job, moving your house and you have no kitchen. I can't ask MR. Jenny to come get me at the airport...what with the broken car and broken foot.
How about I send you the biggest virtual hug and I say some really good prayers for you today? I hope it is enough.
xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Oh my goodness! Jenny, I do believe you need a hug! So here is a great big hug coming your way! XOXOXOXO!
Well - this just can't be happening to you!! I hope at this hour of the day (almost 5 p.m. in the mid-west) that you are safely tucked into the dentist chair, numbed up and through this ordeal...better yet...maybe you are back home by now and tucked into a comfy chair feeling soooo much better...
Sending a hug and wishes for a swift reversal of fortune to you...it's overdue & you all deserve good times.
youre right, some days are just like that! I so hope that youre tooth is out and that youre feeling much better tonight.. and that you still have a job! Im sure you do.
big hugs!

I've been out of town all week and come back and find out your life has gone to h*** in a hand basket so-to-speak, yikes. Sending good vibes to you and your husband.
Uh, yeah.... I'm 'sucking' a socket - well, actually, two from missing teeth. I cracked one molar in half and the other was a tooth whose time had come - it couldn't be salvaged. I should have counseled my kids to become dentists... they make a pretty penny!
I hope you get relief soon. Your 'blessings' cracked me up! I love people who have a sense of humor... no matter what!
Jenny I just don't have words my friend. Hope you got help with the tooth today and that the trainer understands! Bless you and it will get better....really it will...I didn't say when just that is will...most likely right? hugs, Linda
Oh Jenny, I am praying for you and Mr. Jenny! I dislike the dentist immensely but you need to get that tooth fixed! I can not imagine the new job would be so hateful! I think a true emergency would be looked on fairly. Love and Hugs to you! I know things are going to start looking up!
Oh goodness! I hope your day got better and that you were able to get your tooth taken care of.
#4 We all love YOU!
Melinda
Jenny..
I have been there, had that pain...not all of your pains, but the tooth.
Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers...wishing you a rapid turn around of all your problems and pain.
Peace and love,
cyber hugs...(((♥)))
prayers for quick relief of your pain and an understanding boss.

I'm sôooooo sorry! Tooth pain is the worst, my Achilles heel. I'm praying for you.
My teeth hurt just reading that! I can't imagine a boss who would fire you for need to have a jaggedy, throbbing nubby tooth pulled to stop the pain. Really?
I hope your tooth gets pulled and you're feeling better FAST!
hugs to you....
Well, if you had only called me, I could have come over and tied that tooth to a doorknob, and BAM! No more tooth. I guess we are too old to remember the uses for Oragel other than teething babies.
oh my gosh!! Jenny. This sucks...well, actually, sucking on anything would probably hurt right now. I'm so sorry. I just hope that the day gets better...much better...soon.
Have you tried oil of cloves? It's supposed to be really soothing for screechingly painful broken teeth.
I can't believe all of the bad luck you are having right now. Hang in there Jenny. It's got to get better soon!!!
Well, two blessings are better than none - hey you could use that for number three!
Take a phone picture of your broken tooth, yeah, inside your mouth, eewww, and another of a hammer posed against your jaw (note, do not use the hammer, just pose it) and then send both pictures to your trainer.
Then just go to the dentists office and sit there in the waiting room holding your jaw and moaning pitifully until he agrees to see you.
That's one of the major disadvantages of having toothaches: missing your day job. So, how was it? Have you visited your dentist?
